"Uhm~"
A soft, low groan was uttered, and a few rustling sounds came from the blind girl.
"? This is?"
The girl touched her face, then questioned in disbelief, she seemed slightly terrified by some nightmare, suddenly she scrambled around, instantly screaming out.
"Mark, WHERE IS HE?! YOU—?"
Right while screaming, she was pressed down by a force, engulfing all the words that were supposed to escape.
"Quiet down, do you want us to become bait?"
Ron reminded her softly, but she still continuously clawed at Ron's hands, with no other choice, Ron had to let her go and reminded her further:
"That kid, I already helped him, he suffered from some illness I am not sure about, but I already resolved it, do not worry, he is sleeping over there, do not wake him up."
Ron said while instructing her, to increase the persuasiveness, Ron held her hand and guided her to touch the person lying asleep.
"Feel it?"
Ron asked the girl gently, but the young girl fearfully withdrew her hand, Ron sensed the girl was panicking so he gently reassured her.
"Drink some of this water".
Ron handed the girl a hot water bottle, it was a thermos flask that he carried along.
"T-Thank you".
The young girl gently reached for it, but due to blindness, she could not grasp the water bottle, so Ron had to place it into her hand.
Only now did the girl become calmer, but she did not drink the water, she placed the water bottle on the ground, her dazed expression trying to reach toward the boy.
"You can touch him, but currently his entire body is wrapped in bandages, do not meddle too much, and do not call him, he fainted, it is hard to say whether he will wake up anytime soon."
Ron reminded her, he also gently added.
"Besides, you should look after yourself first."
Ron sat down on the ground, he took out a few chocolate bars from his sports bag, peeled off the wrappers and handed them to the girl.
"You have also fainted for a few hours, eat something".
"...thank you".
The girl felt an object being placed into her hand, becoming a bit more quiet, but her body trembled relentlessly, exhaustion and pain were gradually returning.
"Why don't you try touching your eyes?"
Ron said to the girl, who was huddling beside the boy, she followed Ron's words, placing her hand on her face and noticing a rather strange sensation.
"This is...?"
It was a quite familiar feeling, a layer of white cloth was being tied around the girl's eyes.
"When I went up to the hospital rooftop I immediately met the two of you, seeing both were not well so I tried to apply basic first aid.
I do not think I can cure you and him, I do not possess any specialized medical knowledge".
Ron spoke with a hesitant tone, but his gaze did not waver much, just staring intently at the girl.
"I can only do what is possible, anyway I apologize for not being able to do better".
"N-No, this is already too good.
Thank you, thank you very much".
The girl was surprised by Ron's tone, it was quite heavy and guilt ridden, she immediately waved her hands to dismiss it, even thanking Ron.
"Ah... but why... were you able to help me".
The girl suddenly asked timidly, obviously because Ron behaved differently from what she usually knew.
Ron walked toward the room door, he held a cigarette but did not intend to light it, he admired it for a while then asked her back.
"Why do you think that I am fine? And are you fine?"
Ron approached the window, his hand resting on the window sill, without waiting for the girl to reply, Ron continued.
"The sky is now sinking into darkness, and I see that several humans have gone mad outside, currently I see that besides corpses piling up there are still a few guys who are busy cannibalizing instead of fighting.
I do not think everything will remain peaceful like this forever".
Ron added then calmed the girl down.
"But do not worry, you are very tired, you are running a fever, you need to rest, I will try to look around the hospital to find some items for you.
We are inside a hospital room, so for the time being the supplies here will probably help you a bit.
If you need to use the restroom, just go into the adjacent hospital room and find any spot to use, no one cares".
Ron added to the girl, he did not ask about her name or identity but intended to leave, but when about to close the door, he immediately turned back to remind her further.
"besides, in this room there is another person who is my friend currently fainted, if he wakes up then remember to tell him to sit still, just say Ron Irus said so. Thank you".
Ron heard an "of course", he smiled once then exited the room, but outside the hallway filled with blood and corpses nailed to the wall like unexpectedly intact art pieces, there was a room at the end of the hallway that Ron was particularly interested in.
