Chapter 31 - Chapter 30: If Nothing Is Abnormal, It Means It Is Too Abnormal.

Ron placed a camping lantern on the table, he lit a flame on it with the lighter he carried.

The emitted flame bore a greyish white color, matching the black and white tone of the surrounding space.

"Sure enough, it is just like what Lunas told".

Ron nodded then illuminated the entire room, indeed the room still only sank in the gloomy dark grey, without any atmosphere of a director's office.

Ron thought for a bit then placed the lantern near the entrance position, he needed to avoid having anyone see the light from the outside, as well as ensuring that if someone entered the room, they would be dazzled.

Ron began to go rummaging around the director's belongings, he needed to find a few books to help him.

He fumbled with his right arm for a while before finally seeing a book that he needed.

It was a medical book shaped like a bony hand, Ron was not sure if he could read the title characters because apart from the jet black hand, all other parts were dark grey of the same color.

Ron opened the book, and within just three seconds, he closed the book immediately.

"...Really?"

Inside that book, how could there be any specialized book, how could there be any knowledge.

Ron immediately threw it behind him, unable to look at that filthy thing ever again.

Ron tried to search further in that pile of books to see if there was anything else feasible, and of course Ron's demand was perhaps a bit too much.

He was helpless, looking at the bruised hand that was about to fall off the wrist yet feeling unable to be moved.

Ron pulled out the black fishing line from his bag.

He now had to play a guessing game in the dark, actually for Ron it was not that difficult either.

Ron also possessed some common medical knowledge, only that with a surgery like reattaching a hand, everything would no longer be common knowledge.

Ron thought then began to eliminate the option of reattaching the hand, it was too risky and lacked feasibility, furthermore it was also a weak point in the present time, keeping it was a mistake.

Thinking so, Ron had no choice but to take out the cleaver and place his hand on the table.

Stab!

Instantly Ron's hand fell off, he wiped the bloodstain and stored the hand inside a sealed box.

Then Ron stored the hand inside his coat pocket, he looked through the dark glass pane to check.

After confirming that out there not even the smell of rust existed, he had no choice but to take the lantern and leave.

But suddenly, he froze for a beat.

He noticed on the room wall was a map hung neatly on it.

Looking at it, Ron instantly guessed that the map was for judging the onset time and controlling the disease because the symbols and zoning on the map were very clear.

On it was also a dense grid of feasible routes, even detailed regarding turns, alleys, and locations, not much different from a tourist map.

Ron touched it, looking at the lower South corner where there was a symbol of a train car, the place Ron had arrived at earlier.

He looked up at the map, looking at the route that he had traveled from the station to this place.

Ron tried to cross reference with his own experience, he remembered that despite carrying Quân along, he still walked at the speed of a normal person without any acceleration or deceleration.

He also did not alter the movement route but followed the normal path.

Ron also gradually thought deeper, and then his eyes widened.

'Not right'.

He calculated the time he traveled from the moment leaving the station to the moment arriving here, he had asked Lunas right after leaving the station and confirmed reaching this place in about 3 hours of walking.

This was correct, but then he also realized that he had wasted some time on confronting a monster.

And then... why were there so few people in this place?

Ron realized that today was December 30, if considering the correct time, it was already 2:00 in the morning.

He understood one thing that from before that, the city was supposed to be extremely crowded, teeming with people, yet during the battle with that many armed woman, the dead human lives were extremely sparse around his area.

Furthermore, according to Lunas's words, that crowd of madmen had rushed into each other to fight and ignored the dead people. If they were so battle crazed, why were they now only cannibalizing? Was it because they were exhausted? Unlikely, if they were truly mad then they would not be foolish enough to eat while always being able to die at any time, the instinctive psychology of animals did not operate by balancing both sides.

Ron perceived one more thing, which was:

'Why did I need to fight?'

True, why did he need to fight with a many armed demon while he could retreat or hide in a narrow place and set traps, only to end up losing this arm.

'Wait, why only the arm?'

Ron recalled the detail of him using the knife to slash a line on that female creature's arm, the arm was not too sturdy, but when it was destroyed due to the bomb Ron prepared, the explosion did not affect him at all.

Ron realized that everything went too smoothly, except for the arm, everything was too gentle.

Ron immediately rushed out of the room, he carried the lantern along and ran out of the hallway heading toward the hospital door.

But then, he stood frozen before the hospital door, then reached his hand toward his pants pocket, he took out three blood tubes.

"...Right, this is the reason I am at the hospital".

Ron opened the door, then without caring how many gazes in the darkness here were looking toward him, he began to take Quân's blood bottle out to pour onto the ground.

"Perhaps, everything has already sunk to the bottom, right?

That pile of flesh and blood." Ron spoke before the crowd of monsters rushed toward him.
