Boom!
Boom!
As soon as Logan finished speaking, thunder cracked across the distant sky.
"God!! Who angered God?!"
"God's wrath is coming!!"
The people of Skypiea all froze in fear, their faces pale as they looked up. That all-too-familiar dread sent shivers through every heart.
Conis's face went white as snow. Her voice trembled. "He's coming! Logan, you all need to run! Now!!"
"Run? It's too late for that!!!"
A booming, arrogant voice echoed from above. "You lowly Blue Sea insects dare to speak ill of God behind His back?! Only death can wash away your sins!!"
Lightning flashed across the clouds—then a man appeared, shirtless, holding a golden staff, four drums strapped to his back, electricity dancing around him.
"God!!!" The islanders collapsed to their knees the moment they saw Enel, trembling as if their strength had been drained from them.
Enel tilted his chin up, smug and satisfied. Yes… this is how insects should react before their God.
"Enel, you've been tailing us this whole time. Aren't you tired?" Logan said, half laughing.
He'd noticed Enel stalking them ages ago, but what surprised him was that the self-proclaimed "God" hadn't attacked immediately.
That was so unlike him.
"You know God's name?!" Enel's eyes widened. He stared at Logan, realizing this man wasn't here by accident.
The reason he'd hidden his presence was simple—he didn't like that strange ship, the one his mantra couldn't sense at all. That loss of control made him uneasy.
He'd wanted to investigate first—but it seemed he'd been discovered anyway.
No matter.
"God, please! They didn't mean to offend you!" Conis cried, waving her hands desperately. "Please forgive them!"
"Forgive?" Enel sneered. A cruel smile spread across his face. "They insulted God! Not only will they die, but you'll share their punishment!"
As "God," he couldn't allow even a hint of blasphemy.Anyone who dared question him had to pay—with their life.
"Thirty Million Volt… Thunderbird!!!"
Losing patience, Enel slammed his golden staff against one of his drums. A massive bird made of lightning shrieked to life, surging toward Logan and the others.
Conis went limp and dropped to her knees. It's over. Everything's over.God's going to punish everyone…
"Conis, don't be scared. I'll teach him a lesson."
Nami's calm voice cut through her panic. She turned, waved her hand—
BOOM!!!
A compressed wall of clouds shot up from the ground, cutting off the lightning bird in a blinding flash.
At the same time, Nami's figure blurred and vanished.
"The power of thunder? Impossible!!" Enel's pupils shrank in disbelief.
That Blue Sea girl… she was using his power?
"God will kill you!!!" Enel's eyes blazed with fury.No one but him had the right to wield lightning!
"You talk too damn much!!!"
In an instant, Nami appeared before him. Her fist, wrapped in jet-black Haki, smashed into his face.
"You fool! Your attacks can't even touch Go—"
BOOM!!!
The punch landed squarely on Enel's face. His head snapped back; several bloodied teeth flew from his mouth.
"That's for Conis! And for everyone you bullied!!!"
Nami's anger flared. Before Enel could even hit the ground, she was already there again, fists flying faster than lightning itself.
The islanders stood frozen, mouths open, eyes wide.
Some rubbed their eyes, convinced they were seeing things.
But it was real.
"That Blue Sea woman… she's beating up God?!"
"God's losing?!"
"No way!!!"
Shock turned to a strange, quiet hope.
If that girl could really defeat God… maybe they could finally be free.
Hands clenched tight, the people of Skypiea began whispering prayers of support.
"Nami, teach him a good lesson!!"
"Don't hold back!!"
"Go, Nami-sis, go!!"
Mikomi and Tashigi cupped their hands around their mouths, cheering at the top of their lungs.
They hated people like Enel—the type who picked on the weak just because they could.
Conis stood dumbstruck, staring at the sky as Nami rained down punch after punch.
Each hit landed with a crack, her kicks so sharp that even the men watching winced in sympathy.
Enel couldn't even fight back.
"Don't worry. Nami will handle him," Logan said softly, resting a hand on Conis's head.
Conis blinked up at him.
"Conis," Logan said casually, glancing at the one-sided fight. "You've lived on this island your whole life… ever thought about seeing the world below?"
Her eyes lit up. "The Blue Sea…?"
Of course she'd dreamed about it.
Every time Blue Sea people came up here, they told her stories—funny, exciting, full of wonder.
But she never dared go alone. Enel watched everything. Anyone who tried to leave was punished horribly.
Eventually, she'd stopped dreaming.
Until now.
"Logan… are you saying you'll take me down there?" she asked hopefully.
Logan smiled.Pretty and smart. What an angel.
"Conis, how about joining my crew? You can travel with us, make friends with all the girls here, and I'll take you to see the world."
He could tell how much she longed for the sea.She just needed a chance.
"Nami only got this strong because she followed the captain," Robin said gently, brushing a strand of hair from Conis's face. "You could become just like her, maybe even stronger. Then, next time someone like Enel shows up, you can protect your home."
Logan shot Robin a grateful look. That woman really knew how to back him up.
Conis looked back up at the sky—at Nami beating the "God" into a screaming mess. Her voice was soft, but firm. "Do you really think… I could be that strong someday?"
"Of course," Logan said without hesitation.
And he wasn't just saying that. With the right training, every girl on his ship could one day stand toe-to-toe with an admiral.
At that point, a guy like Enel would be nothing more than target practice.
"If I can really become that strong," Conis said after a long pause, "then I'll go with you."
The thought of all the innocent lives Enel had destroyed made her chest ache.
But maybe now… she could make sure that never happened again.
"Conis, you won't regret it. Welcome to the Logan Pirates," he said warmly, opening his arms.
Conis froze for a second, then smiled.
Is this… the initiation ritual?
Adorable curiosity lit up her face as she stepped forward and hugged him tight. "Captain, please take care of me!"
Behind them, Robin shot Logan a teasing look. He grinned and gave her a thumbs-up.
Yeah, she definitely knew what she was doing.
Ever since he'd gathered this crew of beautiful women, things had become… much smoother.Whenever he set his sights on a new recruit, the girls would always help give that last little push.
It made life very easy.
BOOM!!!
A loud crash snapped everyone's attention back to the battlefield.
Conis turned around—and gasped.
The so-called "God"… no, Enel… didn't even look human anymore.
His face was swollen like a balloon, nose broken, teeth scattered across the ground. His huge eyes were swollen into slits, and blood dripped down from the corner of his mouth.
Aside from that, his body was covered in fractures, and both arms were twisted like pretzels.
The drum he wore on his back? Nami must've kicked it halfway across the island during the fight.
What made Conis gulp, though, was the fact that Enel's… well, his lower half probably wasn't going to recover anytime soon.
Looking at him now, if anyone still dared call this guy a god, they'd get laughed straight out of town.
Nami dragged Enel across the ground like a dead dog, tossing him in front of Conis. The poor girl yelped and immediately ducked behind Logan for protection.
"Don't worry, Conis. This guy's done for—he won't be bullying anyone ever again," Nami said, brushing the dust off her hands as her voice softened.
It was hard to believe this gentle woman was the same fierce fighter from moments ago.
"Nami… sis…" Conis bit her lip, eyes filling with tears.
They'd just met by chance, and yet Nami had stood up for her and everyone else—just because she couldn't stand what Enel had done.
+1 to Nami's reputation in Conis's heart.+1 to the Logan Pirates' reputation too.
Logan stepped up, towering over Enel like a king looking down on an insect.
"Still think you're a god?" he asked coldly.
Enel tried to lift his head, but his eyes were swollen nearly shut.
He shrank back, shaking his head so fast it looked like a rattle drum. "N-no… no, I don't! Not anymore!" he stammered.
Logan pulled Conis gently to his side. She instinctively flinched, still trembling with leftover fear.
Even though Enel had been defeated, it had happened so suddenly that her mind hadn't caught up yet.
"Don't be scared," Logan said softly, giving her a reassuring look before glancing at the islanders frozen in disbelief around them.
They were just as shaken as she was.
Looking down at the trembling wreck that was Enel, Logan's voice hardened.
"Now—apologize. To Conis. To every single person on this island!"
"Repent for everything you've done!"
His voice carried through the entire plaza like thunder.
Something in it broke the trance. One by one, the Sky Islanders snapped out of their shock.
Their jaws dropped in disbelief.
Under Enel's rule, they'd gone from pretending to respect him to truly fearing him deep down.
They hadn't just avoided badmouthing him—they hadn't even dared think anything bad about him.
And now Logan was telling Enel to apologize?
The situation had flipped so fast it made their heads spin.
Even Enel looked lost, still clinging to the scraps of his god complex.
"What's wrong? Don't wanna do it?" Logan's eyes narrowed.
In an instant, a sword pressed against Enel's throat. He froze, trembling as the cold steel kissed his skin.
Demons. These people were absolute demons.
Beautiful, every one of them—but far crueler than he'd ever been.
"I-I'm… s-sorry…" Enel stuttered through trembling lips.
"Can't hear you," Logan said flatly, pushing the blade closer.
Sweat and blood dripped together onto the ground. Time itself seemed to stop.
The air went deathly still.
Conis and the Sky Islanders clenched their fists, watching in silence.
Then—
"I'M SORRY!!!" Enel's hoarse scream echoed across Angel Island.
Humiliated, defeated, and furious, he finally choked out the words he'd never thought he'd say.
"I wronged everyone! I'm… I'm unforgivable! I deserve to die!!"
Conis and the others could barely process it. Their minds went blank, replaying only one phrase: I'm sorry.
God—no, Enel—had apologized.
At that moment, it felt like the invisible chains around their hearts shattered.
"Hahahaha! A god? There are no gods in this world!"
"Enel! Look at you now!"
"You bastard! My brother only criticized you once, and you killed him for it!"
"Didn't expect to see you groveling like a dog one day!"
"What a joke, Enel!"
The islanders erupted, shouting and cursing through tears and laughter.
They'd waited for this day—no, they'd never dared dream of this day.
None of them had believed Enel could ever lose.
But here it was.
After venting every last bit of pent-up rage, the Sky Islanders turned to Logan and his crew, dropping to their knees in unison.
"Thank you, sir! Thank you for saving Skypiea!"
"You changed our fate!"
Their voices rose together, shaking the heavens with gratitude and relief.
"Stand up," Logan said, smiling. "This guy got what he deserved. You're free now—go live your lives."
Given how isolated the Sky Island was, barely anyone could ever reach it—and no one but an idiot like Enel would've tried ruling it anyway.
Tears filled the islanders' eyes as they stood, bowing one last time before running off to spread the news: Enel had been defeated.
"Thank you, Captain."
Before Logan could react, a small figure threw herself into his arms.
Conis was crying uncontrollably. Without Logan, she didn't even want to imagine how much longer they would've suffered under Enel's tyranny.
They would've been trapped forever in the cage of a false god.
"Still believe there are gods in this world?" Logan teased with a grin.
Conis stuck out her tongue and shook her head firmly. "No way. There are no gods—just people pretending to be ones."
"That's the right answer," Logan said, gently tapping her nose.
A sudden cough broke the moment. The warmth in the air instantly vanished as Logan and the others turned toward the sound, faces darkening.
"I did what you asked," Enel groaned weakly. "Please… let me go. I'll leave Skypiea forever."
Even breathing made his whole body throb in agony.
Logan tilted his head slightly. "Oh, right. I almost forgot—you're useless now."
His hand dropped onto Enel's head. Lightning surged from his palm.
BOOM!
Thunder exploded.
Enel's eyes went wide, his body stiffened, and he collapsed lifelessly to the ground—dead on the spot.
"....."
