Spright Blue's effect—I add Spright Jet from my Deck to my hand.
"I activate Runick Destruction from my hand, choosing to Special Summon a monster. I Special Summon Runick Hugin the Winged Runick, and Hugin's effect sends Runick Slumber from my hand to the Graveyard to search Runick Fountain."
After finishing this sequence, You Ye entered Main Phase 1.
"I activate Spright Jet's effect from my hand, Special Summon it, then add the Quick-Play Spell Spright Smashers from my Deck to my hand."
"I overlay Hugin and Spright Jet—
Xyz Summon! Rank 2 — Gigantic Spright!"
"At this moment, I activate the Field Spell Runick Fountain."
"Then I activate the Quick-Play Spell Runick Flashing Fire, Special Summoning a second Hugin."
"Runick Fountain's effect triggers—I shuffle Runick Destruction, Runick Flashing Fire, and Runick Storm from my Graveyard back into the Deck, then draw three cards."
After drawing, You Ye glanced at his hand and continued smoothly.
"I Normal Summon Rainbow Lizard. Its effect—when successfully Summoned, I draw one card."
"Gigantic Spright's effect—detach one material to Special Summon Spright Red from my Deck."
"I use Spright Red and Hugin as Link materials—
Link Summon! Link-2 — Spright Elf!"
"Spright Elf's effect—Special Summon Spright Red from the Graveyard."
"I then use Spright Blue and Rainbow Lizard as Link materials—
Link Summon! Link-2 — I:P Masquerena!"
"From my hand, I Special Summon Spright Carrot. I set one card.
Turn end."
"Incredible… absolutely incredible."
"I never expected that letting you use the Thunder Spirit archetype wouldn't restrict you at all—instead, you built a board with a Spell/Trap negate, a monster negate, an accelerated Link interruption, and a non-targeting banish."
"If we include the Runick disruptions, that's at least five interruptions… possibly seven or even eight."
"No wonder the Rules intend to make you the spokesperson of the entire Spirit Universe. Your potential surpasses mine—and far more than most."
Seated upon his throne, Aluber clapped slowly, admiration filling his eyes.
"Stop pretending," You Ye said calmly. "Your eyes are full of confidence."
From the very beginning, Aluber had shown only mild surprise—no fear, no panic. It was obvious he had already found the solution.
"Hahaha! You noticed that too?"
Aluber's smile widened, no longer bothering to hide it.
"You Ye, there's a crucial piece of information I haven't told you yet. Care to guess?"
"…Bond," You Ye answered after a brief pause.
If one became the spokesperson for the Rules, how could their bond not be enhanced?
If even that bond were weaker than a human duelist's or a spirit's, it would be laughable.
"Correct," Aluber laughed.
"My bond is inherently one tier higher than that of humans or spirits. That means in this duel, I am guaranteed to draw one specific card."
His grin twisted into something eerie.
"Care to guess what card that is?"
"It doesn't matter," You Ye replied flatly.
"I'll deal with it."
No matter what Aluber drew, winning was all that mattered.
"And I have answers to everything."
"Still refusing to give up?"
Aluber stood and drew his card.
"Then let me show you what true terror looks like."
"During your Draw Phase—I have something to do."
"I discard Maxx 'C'. Every time you Special Summon this turn, I draw one."
As Aluber drew and prepared to enter Main Phase 1, You Ye casually tossed out the "cockroach."
"Tch… damn insect."
Aluber's expression darkened slightly.
He needed board breakers—not Called by the Grave, not Crossout Designator.
Ash Blossom had already been used in the previous turn.
There was no stopping it.
"Your move," You Ye said calmly.
With Maxx 'C' resolved and Runick Fountain on the field, You Ye knew this duel was already firmly in his grasp.
"G won't save you!"
Aluber snorted.
"I said it!"
Main Phase 1.
Aluber slapped a card onto the field.
"I activate Dark Ruler No More!"
"All face-up monsters your opponent controls have their effects negated until the end of this turn. After this card resolves, your opponent takes no damage for the rest of the turn."
"Dark Ruler No More… I see," You Ye nodded.
"Since you saw me use Forbidden Droplet last duel, you chose a different way to break my board."
Indeed, it was the correct counter.
With Dark Ruler active, all three of You Ye's monster interruptions vanished instantly—leaving only Spright Smashers in the backrow.
"Hahahaha! Did you really think letting you play Spright was to increase your bricks?"
"No—I kept your board within my control. Just like this!"
But You Ye remained calm.
"Is that really worth bragging about?"
"You've already eaten Maxx 'C'. Runick Fountain is up. I still have banish resources and Quick-Play Runicks. Can you really break through?"
"Oh?"
Aluber's grin turned even more deranged.
"Then repent before the Duel Rules!"
"I activate Lightning Storm—destroy your Spell & Trap Zone!"
Golden lightning swept across the field.
Runick Fountain and Spright Smashers were sent to the Graveyard.
"…Interesting. A champion-level combo," You Ye admitted.
"Hahahaha! Scared now?!"
"No," You Ye smiled lightly.
"So how exactly do you plan to win?"
With Dark Ruler in effect, all damage was zero this turn.
Maxx 'C' had resolved.
No matter how one looked at it, the odds still leaned his way.
"You think a mere cockroach can save you?"
"Then let me show you the true power of an Earth-Attribute pile!"
Aluber roared with confidence.
"Oh?"
"You're going to push through Maxx 'C'?" You, Ye, asked.
"Of course! Why wouldn't I?"
"Witness true strength!"
"I Normal Summon Anger Knuckle!"
"I discard Blockade Crusader, and Special Summon Adamancipator Analyzer from my Deck!"
"Analyzer effect—excavate five!"
"I reveal Ash Blossom, Crossout Designator, Adamancipator Researcher, Koa'ki Meiru Guardian, Blockade Crusader!"
"I Special Summon Koa'ki Meiru Guardian!"
"Hahaha! Now, even if you draw Nibiru or Ash, you can only watch!"
Compared to Aluber's excitement, You Ye glanced silently at a Level 10 Divine-Attribute monster he had drawn earlier—and said nothing.
He even turned off response timing, letting Aluber continue freely.
"If anything,"
"You Ye thought,"
"I'm more afraid he won't extend enough…"
"Thinking my last card is just filler?"
Aluber sneered.
"Let me show you something special. A card the Rules gave me temporarily."
"I activate Pot of Greed—draw two!"
"…Pot of Greed?"
You Ye's smile deepened.
So the Rules were really going all out to suppress him.
The combo continued relentlessly.
Adamancipator Risen – Raptite
Block Dragon
Apollousa, Bow of the Goddess (4 negates)
Baronne de Fleur
Herald of the Arc Light
Fossil Dyna Pachycephalo
Prohibition declaring Forbidden Droplet
Four monster negates.
Two omni-negates.
Special Summon lock.
Effect destruction immunity for Rock monsters.
Aluber spread his arms wide.
"A perfect board."
"Tell me—how do you break this?"
The spirits watching fell silent.
This wasn't just suppression.
This was an absolute lockdown.
Yet You Ye merely smiled.
"Why should I be afraid?"
And with that calm question—
The duel reached its breaking point.
