"I…"
Uchiha Hikari stared at the iron bars Boruto had just destroyed. Her eyes were filled with shock, confusion, and a desperate longing for the freedom she'd buried deep inside her heart.
"I want to… but I can't."
Her voice was barely more than a whisper. She lowered her gaze to the Cursed Seal etched into her wrist — the cruel mark that had stolen her freedom.
"A Cursed Seal, huh…"
Boruto's sharp eyes swept over her, immediately spotting the seal. He took a slow step forward, lifted his hand, and gently touched her wrist.
At that moment, Uchiha Hikari felt a warm, mysterious power flow from his fingertip.
The seal that had bound her began to flicker with light — then it shimmered, dissolved into smoke, and vanished completely.
"This is…" Hikari stared at her wrist in disbelief.
The spot where the seal had been was now smooth and unblemished, as if it had never existed.
Boruto gave a small wave of his hand. The heavy shackles on her ankles snapped apart under an unseen force and clattered to the stone floor.
Uchiha Hikari's eyes widened. She couldn't understand — why would he do this?
In this cold, ruthless world, where power ruled and trust meant death, why would someone help her?
"Why? Why would you do this much for me? We don't even know each other. I might even be your enemy."
Her voice trembled, searching his face for an answer.
Boruto just smiled — an easy, confident smile that somehow radiated warmth. He reached out his hand.
"Why? If I had to give a reason… it's because I want to."
He held out his hand to her, firm and steady. "Let's go. I'm taking you away."
For a moment, Hikari hesitated. In her entire life, only her parents had ever shown her kindness. The rest of the world had given her nothing but orders, chains, and pain.
Then, with a trembling breath, she placed her hand in his.
His palm was warm — startlingly warm — and for the first time, she felt safe.
"His hand… it's so warm…" she thought, gripping tightly as if afraid he'd vanish like a dream.
But before they could move, a noise echoed down the dungeon hall.
"What was that sound just now?"
"It came from the sealed cell!"
The guards had noticed. Footsteps pounded toward them.
"Has the seal been broken? Who did it? The Senju Clan?"
"Their target's Unnamed! Don't let her escape — capture her immediately!"
Scarlet Sharingan eyes flashed in the darkness as several Uchiha guards appeared, weapons drawn.
"Let's go," Boruto said calmly, gripping Hikari's hand and striding into the passageway. She followed close behind, her heart pounding.
The corridor was long and dim, torchlight flickering across the stone walls. Their shadows stretched out behind them — two figures moving as one.
Then, suddenly, several figures appeared ahead, blocking their path.
Scarlet eyes glared at them, filled with malice.
"Why is it just some little brat?" one middle-aged Uchiha sneered, stepping forward.
"You're really smiling? You actually let a kid wander into the dungeon. Hurry up and get rid of him."
A younger man behind him scoffed. "Fine, I'll handle it."
He drew his katana, his eyes flashing dangerously. "Blond brat, I don't know who you are, but you're dead today!"
He moved in a blur — vanishing and reappearing before Boruto, his blade slicing down toward Boruto's head.
During the Warring States Period, war was constant. Killing a child was nothing. He'd done it before.
But before his sword could land, it hit something invisible — a solid wall of force that stopped it mid-swing.
The man froze, unable to move. His sword hung in midair, trapped.
"What—what kind of Ninjutsu is this!?"
He struggled, but the invisible pressure pinned him like a bug under glass.
"Yana! What the hell are you doing? Kill him already!" another guard shouted.
But Uchiha Yana couldn't move an inch.
"You're so weak," Boruto said softly, raising his eyes.
A pulse of repulsive force exploded outward.
Yana flew backward like a rag doll, crashing into the stone wall with a sickening crack. Blood sprayed from his mouth as his body embedded into the rock.
"No way! That brat—he killed Yana instantly!"
The other Uchiha stared, faces pale with disbelief. They finally understood: this was no ordinary boy.
They activated their Sharingan, readying themselves.
"So strong…" Hikari whispered, awe shining in her crimson eyes.
Boruto looked at the others, calm and unimpressed. "Not good enough, brother."
He raised a single finger.
"Bang! Bang! Bang!"
Every Uchiha in front of him dropped to their knees as gravity crushed them into the floor. The ground cracked beneath their weight.
"H-how can this be? What kind of power is this kid using!?" one of them choked, blood trickling from his mouth.
"It's possible," Boruto said with a light chuckle, walking past them.
He and Hikari stepped out of the dungeon and into the heart of the Uchiha compound.
Hundreds of Uchiha now surrounded them — their eyes glowing red, weapons drawn, killing intent thick in the air.
"Kid!" a man with a fully developed Three Tomoe Sharingan shouted. "Unnamed is a weapon of our clan. You can't take her!"
Boruto turned to face them, unflinching. His voice was calm, almost mocking.
"Can't take her?"
He smiled coldly. "I'm taking her today. And I'd like to see who dares to stop me."
