Chapter 172 - Chapter 173: Aftermath (Part 1)

"Even so, I still can't believe that Diavolo's ability, time deletion, lasts for half a minute…"

Abbacchio said this, and before he could finish, Mista immediately said, "Oh, come on, how many times do I have to tell you before you believe it? If you don't believe it, go ask Mr. Polnareff!"

"Don't talk to him, Mista!" Ghiaccio slammed his hand on the table fiercely and said, "You idiot, if you don't believe it, fine. Are you jealous of Johnson's strength?"

"When we were on our way to the beach, Giorno timed it with a stopwatch, and it was over thirty seconds." Bucciarati walked in from the private room of the bustling restaurant, still in his original attire, but now his status was incomparable. He was already the supervisor of all * * transactions in Italy.

He was called—RULER, and The Balancer.

The sale of * * was monitored to a certain extent, which resulted in the sale of * * not becoming the most profitable business.

"I'm not saying I don't believe Diavolo's deletion time is that long," Abbacchio sighed silently, watching Mista and Ghiaccio's continuous bragging, and simply said, "I'm asking how an ability with a deletion time of half a minute can be defeated."

"Of course, Johnson will defeat him." Mista looked at Abbacchio, then gestured for Ghiaccio to quickly take the fourth cake. He wouldn't make a move until the fourth cake was eaten by Ghiaccio.

Abbacchio looked at him as if he were an idiot. "I'm asking how he can be defeated, not who can defeat him!"

"Hey..." Mista looked at him as if he were an idiot. "I already told you Johnson can defeat him. How many times do I have to say it?!"

Ghiaccio frowned, looked at Abbacchio, then pulled Mista, ready to leave.

"Stop wasting time with him, Mista!" Ghiaccio said to Bucciarati as he left. "Regarding what we discussed last time about starting an agency and a film company, the Boss said to let you and Prosciutto handle it. Don't forget! Johnson gave us several movie titles; remember to go negotiate."

"Prosciutto has already gone to sign actors."

Bucciarati nodded slightly. He and Prosciutto had collaborated on many things, and Prosciutto seemed quite supportive of him.

"Now it's not just half a minute!" As soon as they finished talking, Fugo led Narancia in from outside the door. "When Narancia and I were on patrol just now, we heard many people saying that Diavolo can erase time for up to half an hour..."

"Pfft, hahaha, half an hour! That's hilarious!" Narancia covered his mouth, laughing. "Those people also said that Mr. Geoffrey can stop time for half an hour and one minute, so he defeated Diavolo in one minute."

Bucciarati shook his head helplessly. Had it spread to such a terrifying extent? But it was also good for "PASSIONE"; at least others were scared stiff.

"What has Johnson been busy with recently?" Seeing Mista and Ghiaccio about to step out of the restaurant door, Mista heard the topic, pulled his foot back in, and said with a proud expression:

"Johnson wants to legalize "PASSIONE" and also said he wants Giorno to be president."

"Hey, Mista, it's fine to talk privately, but why are you so loud?"

"Isn't Bucciarati one of us?"

"But there are too many people in the restaurant! You idiot!"

"I already know that," Bucciarati said honestly. "Besides that, what about business matters?"

"Oh, right, right," Mista said as if remembering something. "Last night, Johnson talked a lot with Boss Risotto, saying he wanted to invest in some industries in China."

Bucciarati looked surprised. China was a very, very distant place for him. Why would he suddenly have such a wild idea? He had thought Johnson would invest in American affairs, as he was American after all.

"China, that's a good place," Mista said with some longing. "I heard people say that people in that country don't like '4.' I think investing in more than four companies in China will definitely make a lot of money."

"But it's not that easy to get into China, is it?" Fugo said hesitantly.

Bucciarati watched Ghiaccio and Mista bickering, and couldn't help but be a little surprised by Johnson's idea—

Less than three months after Diavolo's death, after several assassinations and provocations from other gangs, the Assassination Team finally secured the position of "PASSIONE"'s Boss.

After all, assassinating the Assassination Team was a fantasy, not to mention that "PASSIONE"'s true foothold lay in—

The Arrow.

The Arrow could create Stand Users. Now, including the surviving members of the Assassination Team, plus his own squad, they were known as the "PASSIONE" family, led by Risotto.

Risotto was a man who valued family greatly, a typical Sicilian man. The method of maintaining the entire "PASSIONE" had changed from Diavolo's mysterious rule to a family-based one.

Moreover, he came to the forefront openly and honestly. After all, being a gang leader was a high-risk job; even Diavolo was unwilling to rush to the front lines.

But Risotto was not afraid. He called all those loyal to him brothers and sons, and treated them with the most generous benefits.

In fact, Risotto also greatly admired Bucciarati. He was a man of principle, and also very intelligent, because he was the one who oversaw all drug transactions in Italy. Despite this, he never coveted a single penny, never took what wasn't his, and certainly never oversold drugs to harm people.

Johnson's judgment of people was too accurate, Prosciutto said, because managing drugs was something no one felt at ease with; it was a rather tricky business.

This person had to be intelligent, righteous, empathetic, not greedy, excellent at handling interpersonal relationships, and powerful. If it weren't for Bucciarati, Risotto or Johnson would probably have had to handle this matter themselves.

Since Bucciarati was the one sanctioning drugs, he was also in the spotlight. Besides recalling his old subordinate Fugo, Prosciutto and Pesci were also sent to help.

After several skirmishes and street fights, the drug trade was no longer as rampant. However, in reality, "PASSIONE" was not the only gang selling drugs. Bucciarati faced multiple assassination attempts, and Risotto, as the Godfather of "PASSIONE," eventually became enraged. He spent a week eliminating all gangs except "PASSIONE."

"I have finally achieved my dream," Bucciarati thought to himself, "that way, I can also say that I haven't fallen into darkness."
