But here, without relying on the curse seal's power, he had no way of defeating Karin… no, he couldn't even get close to her.

If Sasuke's mind was completely devoured, Hiruzen would intervene immediately. For now, it seemed Sasuke still retained consciousness.
Kakashi had the same thought, though his heart was filled with worry.
Sasuke always seemed controlled by some dark power.
Even if he managed to master the curse seal, it was not the outcome Kakashi wanted.
"What a hot scene!" Orochimaru licked his lips, his voice trembling with excitement.
This was exactly what he wanted to see.
"Is Karin going to be okay?" Yakumo frowned slightly. "That chakra… it feels unsettling. Almost like… Ido."
Her hand moved to her stomach where Itsuki had placed a sealing formula.
Inside that seal, Ido—the embodiment of her darkness—was imprisoned.
Yakumo had met Ido once. That violent hostility and chaos felt far too similar to Sasuke's current state.
"Don't worry." Itsuki chuckled. "Karin is strong."
At that moment, Sasuke's chakra burst, and he closed the gap in one breath, faster than the last time he defeated Zaku.
"Hmph! Now it's my turn!" His expression twisted into a wicked smile.
Without suppressing the curse seal, the pain on his neck had vanished. The surge of power felt… liberating.
His emotions burned wildly, but Sasuke didn't care. That was enough for him.
He crouched low and drove a kick upward toward Karin's chin, intending to launch her into the air.
With his increased speed and strength, he didn't even need ninjutsu. Taijutsu alone would be enough—fast, clean, efficient.
Clang!
To his shock, his foot struck something like solid steel. The rebound nearly shattered his bones.
In front of Karin, several golden chains overlapped, forming a shield that blocked his attack.
This ability could be used like that?
Sasuke's eyes widened. He immediately backflipped, retreating to put distance between them.
"It's time to end this," Karin said softly.
The next instant, a golden chain shot up from the ground, snaring Sasuke's foot mid-retreat.
"Nani?" Sasuke panicked.
Careless!
He hadn't noticed Karin had planted a chain underground, hidden from his vision.
Even the Sharingan needed line of sight to track chakra properly. In a blind spot, it was no different from ordinary eyes.
The chain tightened. Sasuke tried to force a burst of chakra to break free—
—but his chakra suddenly went haywire.
Before he could react, more golden chains shot forward, wrapping around him tightly.
The curse seal's power shrank rapidly, retreating into the mark on his neck like melting ice. His Sharingan closed against his will.
"This ability… it can seal chakra!!" Sasuke's face twisted in shock as he struggled.
But with his chakra suppressed, no matter how hard he fought, it was useless.
Sasuke had lost.
"This Uzumaki Karin is strong!"
"I didn't expect Sasuke to lose, even after unleashing the curse seal!"
"Not only is Itsuki strong himself, but even his teammates are terrifying. What about the other one?"
The stands buzzed with shocked whispers.
To be fair, the battle had been thrilling.
Sasuke's performance had been clumsy at first, but when the curse seal erupted, his level far exceeded that of many Genin. Few could have survived that charge.
But Karin had. And she had sealed him completely.
"There's always someone stronger," an older shinobi muttered. "Sasuke's loss was no fluke."
"The winner is Uzumaki Karin!" referee Hayate announced as he stepped forward.
No matter how unwilling Sasuke was, he had tried his best. The outcome could not be denied.
Clap! Clap! Clap!
Applause rang out from the stands. Though brief, the match had been spectacular.
Only Naruto looked furious. "Sasuke, you actually lost! You loser! How dare you say you want to fight me like this!"
Sasuke's face darkened instantly.
He was already humiliated, and now that idiot had to rub salt in the wound?
But Sasuke wasn't in the mood to argue.
Once Karin released her chains, he left the arena at once, not even watching the next matches.
The pain of the curse seal, which had plagued him constantly, strangely faded after Karin's sealing chains suppressed it.
But Sasuke wasn't thinking about that now. He just wanted to disappear.
"Sasuke, where are you going?" Naruto shouted, ready to chase, but Kakashi caught his shoulder.
"Your match could be called any time. Are you planning to forfeit?" Kakashi said calmly. "Don't worry about Sasuke. I'll check on him."
"Tch… that idiot," Naruto grumbled, folding his arms in frustration.
"Hehehe… even though he lost, I saw exactly what I wanted," Orochimaru whispered, tongue sliding across his lips.
"Besides… he's an Avenger. Defeat will only fuel his resentment and hunger for power. That craving will make him mine."
Sasuke's loss wasn't because he was weak. His opponent was simply stronger.
No one doubted his talent—except Sasuke himself.
After Sasuke left, Karin quickly climbed the stairs and ran to Itsuki's side.
"Hehe, Itsuki, how was my fight?" Karin asked eagerly, clinging to his arm with expectant eyes.
"Very good," Itsuki said with a smile, patting her head.
"You're getting better at using the Adamantine Sealing Chains. And you know how to use the terrain well. You're already more than ready for Chunin promotion."
Karin's face lit up with joy at his praise.
Meanwhile, the next contestants stepped into the arena.
Yamanaka Ino vs. Yoroi Akado!
