Chapter 116 - Chapter 115: Can You Take Your Hands Out? Challenge Week is Coming!

Mu Nujiao heard footsteps approaching and turned around. Song Jie was walking toward her with a faint smile.

"Have you been waiting long?" he asked.

"Not long," Mu Nujiao replied softly, unable to meet his gaze.

"Let's go for a walk. The weather's nice tonight," Song Jie suggested.

Without waiting for her response, he walked alongside her down the quiet path.

"Have you missed me?" he suddenly asked.

"Ah...!?" Mu Nujiao froze, caught off guard by his question.

Song Jie found her flustered reaction quite cute.

"The moon looks beautiful tonight. Let's go by the lake and admire it," he said casually.

Mu Nujiao nodded lightly and followed behind him.

Streetlights illuminated both sides of the campus path, but only a few students were around.

Since most were confined to their dorms for nighttime checks, the campus was quiet. With no entertainment facilities, most could only train diligently or sneak out for secret dates.

When Song Jie and Mu Nujiao arrived by the lake, the shimmering surface reflected the moonlight, and a gentle breeze carried a touch of coolness.

"Let's sit there," Song Jie said, pointing toward a bench.

They sat down and admired the moon together. Song Jie turned his head—the soft light reflected off Mu Nujiao's delicate features, making her look even more beautiful.

"Is there something on my face?" she asked nervously when she noticed his gaze.

"It seems there really is. Let me check for you," he teased, leaning closer until their breaths mingled.

"Mwah!"

Mu Nujiao blinked in shock and touched her cheek, which was now slightly damp.

"Oh, I couldn't resist and stole another kiss," Song Jie said, feigning embarrassment.

Mu Nujiao's cheeks turned crimson in an instant. Her heart pounded, her ears burned, and she pursed her lips, not knowing how to respond.

She was only eighteen—how could she handle Song Jie's teasing?

"I... I should go," she stammered, trying to stand, but Song Jie caught her hand.

"Jiao Jiao, you're still shy," he said with a playful smile, pulling her gently into his arms. "Do you really not want to be with me?"

Mu Nujiao trembled like a frightened rabbit. "No..." she whispered.

"If you think you're at a disadvantage, I'll let you kiss me," Song Jie added shamelessly.

Mu Nujiao's lips twitched. You kissed me first, and now you're pretending you're being fair? Shameless!

"The moon's too beautiful tonight. Don't make me enjoy it alone," Song Jie said softly.

"Then... don't suddenly kiss me like that," Mu Nujiao murmured. She did like him, but everything was happening too fast.

"Okay," Song Jie agreed easily. He knew if he pushed any further, she might run off.

"How much longer until your Beast Fighting Competition?" he asked.

"About a month," she replied.

"Then it's soon," he said, nodding. For those who cultivated diligently, a month passed in the blink of an eye.

The two sat quietly, gazing at the moon. But as Mu Nujiao's blush finally began to fade, her face suddenly grew red again.

"Mm..." she muttered softly. "Song Jie... can you take your hand out..."

"Oops," Song Jie chuckled. "I thought I was touching my own. No wonder it felt so smooth."

Mu Nujiao's face turned so red it seemed she might burst, but she knew Song Jie was just teasing.

The next morning, Song Jie received two messages.

One was from Mo Fan, who had just joined the Summoning Element and wanted advice about cultivation.

The other was from Professor Deng, inviting Song Jie to join the Light Element Academy.

[Song Jie: Professor Deng, you're putting me in a difficult position. The Summoning Element has treated me well. I can't be ungrateful, can I?]

Song Jie currently had three Summoned Beasts and had even obtained another Contract Summoning slot. Leaving the Summoning Element now would be too troublesome—at least its resources made his cultivation much easier.

[Professor Deng: How about this? You can dual-cultivate in both academies. Just visit the Light Element Academy when you have time.]

Old Deng was determined to recruit him. After all, Song Jie's Mutated Light Talent would bring immense prestige to the academy.

[Song Jie: Dual-cultivating in two academies sounds exhausting.]

[Professor Deng: Don't think that way. If you do, I'll request Dean Xiao to grant you double the cultivation resources. How about it?]

Double the resources? That certainly caught Song Jie's attention.

[Professor Deng: Normally, students can only choose one academy, but with your Mutated Talent, both the Light Element and Summoning Element deserve special care.]

[Song Jie: Fine. Talk to Dean Xiao. If he agrees, I'm in.]

Seeing his reply, Professor Deng promised to handle it immediately.

Later that day, Song Jie went to class. Since joining the Main Campus, he hadn't attended a single lecture.

The Summoning Element classroom, which could seat over three hundred people, was only half full.

He found a seat, sat down, and quietly listened.

Two hours later, as the teacher ended the lecture, he mentioned one thing before leaving—Challenge Week.

Challenge Week? Song Jie recalled hearing about it before.

As the name implied, it was a period where Summoning Element students challenged each other to determine the rankings. The higher one's ranking, the better the cultivation resources.

Since Song Jie had just joined the Main Campus, he currently had no ranking.

Turning to a nearby student, he asked, "Senior, when's the next Challenge Week?"

"In two days," the student replied before walking off.

"In two days, huh?" Song Jie muttered. "I thought it was tomorrow."

Either way, this was his chance. The Main Campus' resource pool was far greater than the Qing Campus'.

There was no way he would miss it.

He was determined to take first place in the Summoning Element—and if Dean Xiao allowed dual cultivation, first in the Light Element Academy would soon follow!
