Song Jie, relying on his Shadow Element ability from Little Black, quickly arrived above the warehouse.
From his position, he could see several people inside. They were all dressed in gray—clearly just Gray Robe Believers.
"Only five hundred thousand?"
He smirked.
"That's not worth anything at all."
Right now, Song Jie's targets were Black Robe Priests or Blue Deacons.
One was worth nine million.
One was worth one hundred and twenty million.
People needed dreams after all!
At the moment, the Gray Robe Believers hadn't noticed that Song Jie was watching them from above.
"When do we start?" one of them asked impatiently.
"What's the rush? Priest said to wait. It's not time yet," another replied.
"Where is Priest? Hasn't he come back yet?"
"Priest went to see Deacon."
"Deacon!" The name immediately filled the group's eyes with envy.
A Blue Deacon of the Black Vatican was a figure held in extremely high regard. That was why they were so valuable!
Hidden in the shadows, Song Jie's eyes lit up when he heard that Mu Yuang had gone to meet a Blue Deacon.
"One hundred and twenty million... just wait for me," he murmured with a grin.
After some time, Mu Yuang finally arrived at the warehouse.
"Priest!"
The Gray Robe Believers quickly stepped forward and greeted him respectfully.
"Have you exposed your whereabouts?" Mu Yuang asked coldly through his mask.
"No. We were all very careful. No one followed us," one of them answered.
Mu Yuang nodded and sat down.
"Have you contacted the people from Pearl Institute?" he asked.
"Yes, Priest. They're on standby," came the response.
Mu Yuang took a sip of water and nodded in satisfaction.
"Priest, did you see the Deacon?" one of the believers asked eagerly.
Ordinary Gray Robe Believers didn't even have the right to meet a Blue Deacon. Above them were Black Robe Priests, and only above them stood Blue Deacons.
Higher still were the Cardinals—and at the top, the Pope of the Black Vatican.
That was why only Black Robe Priests like Mu Yuang could even contact a Deacon.
"No," Mu Yuang replied, shaking his head. "The Judgment Association is keeping a close eye on things lately. The Deacon said we'll have to meet another time."
Everyone nodded in understanding.
"Didn't meet him?" Song Jie frowned in frustration.
If Mu Yuang hadn't seen that Blue Deacon, then Song Jie couldn't move yet!
He'd have to wait until Mu Yuang met the Deacon—then take them all down in one strike.
But before that, he needed someone to back him up. Someone from the Judgment Association who could help him confirm that these people were members of the Black Vatican.
He already had someone in mind: Tang Yue.
However, now wasn't the right time. He'd have to wait for Mu Yuang to make contact with that Blue Deacon first.
"Priest, that Song Jie isn't easy to deal with. We probably can't handle him," one of the Gray Robe Believers said nervously.
Mu Yuang sneered. "You don't need to worry about that. The Church has already sent people to handle him. We just need to do our part."
"Yes, Priest!" they replied in unison.
"The Black Vatican sent others to deal with me?" Song Jie frowned thoughtfully. "Could it be... a High-Level Mage?"
He rubbed his chin, deep in thought.
When the group stopped talking, he quietly withdrew from the warehouse and returned to Li Rui's side.
"Resolved?" Li Rui asked.
Song Jie shook his head. "No rush. I'm fishing for a big one."
Li Rui didn't quite understand but didn't question him further.
"Keep an eye on them," Song Jie instructed. "Especially the man in black who just returned. If he leaves the warehouse, tell me immediately."
Li Rui nodded seriously—she could tell this matter was important.
"The people of the Black Vatican are cunning," Song Jie added. "Be careful."
"I will."
Leaving Li Rui to watch, Song Jie stepped outside and took out his phone to call Tang Yue.
Because of his presence, he knew the storyline might have changed slightly. To win, he needed to understand both himself and his enemies.
"Is there a situation?" Tang Yue's voice came through the phone.
"No," Song Jie replied. "Teacher Tang Yue, I just wanted to ask—has the Black Vatican sent any experts? Someone above the Advanced Level, maybe?"
"Advanced Level Mage?" Tang Yue paused.
"Those are basically Blue Deacon-level individuals. If they move, our Judgment Association would know immediately. From what I've heard, a Blue Deacon is directing this operation from behind the scenes."
Song Jie frowned. He already knew a Blue Deacon was in charge. But from what he'd overheard earlier, the Black Vatican had also sent someone specifically to deal with him.
That meant the opponent was very likely an Advanced Level Mage.
The enemy was in the shadows, while he was out in the open—an obvious disadvantage.
And Tang Yue didn't seem to have any more useful information.
"What's wrong?" Tang Yue asked, puzzled.
"Nothing," he said lightly, chatting with her for a bit before hanging up.
If even Tang Yue didn't know, there was no point pushing further.
Just then, his phone rang again—it was Lingling.
"Song Jie! Where did you go? The people from our Qingtian Hunter Agency said they lost you!"
Song Jie chuckled. When he'd gone to meet Li Rui, he'd shaken off the Qingtian agents following him. After all, this mission required secrecy.
"I just went to handle something profitable. You'll know soon enough," he said with a grin.
"You're being targeted by the Black Vatican, and you still have time to make money?!" Lingling fumed.
Song Jie quickly replied, "I'm coming back right now!"
"Do you know they might have sent an Advanced Level Mage to deal with you?!" she said angrily.
Her voice was sharp, but beneath it was concern.
"I know."
"You know, and you're still running around? Send me your location! I'll have our people come get you!"
Her tone, though childish, carried a mature authority.
Song Jie gave in. "Alright, alright. I know I was wrong. I'll send my location now."
Lingling muttered, "Honestly, if you get killed by the Black Vatican, our whole Qingtian Hunter Agency's reputation will be ruined because of you!"
Song Jie smiled faintly. Her scolding was just another way of showing she cared.
