Chapter 147 - Chapter 146: Ai Tutu Makes Another Bet, Harvest Night

Soon after the Qingtian Hunter Agency located him, Song Jie took a taxi back home.

With their protection, he finally felt somewhat at ease.

On the way back, Lingling kept lecturing him over the phone.

"You should stay home for now. The Black Vatican matter can be handled by the Judgment Association!"

Song Jie chuckled. "You like controlling me so much? When you grow up, you can be my little wife. Then you can control me all you want."

"Who likes controlling you?! I'm only doing this because I got paid!" Lingling snapped back angrily.

"And who wants to be your little wife!"

She was so mad she wanted to appear in front of him, jump up, and slap him hard!

"If you want to, I can wait," Song Jie teased with a grin. "It's only a few years anyway."

"Song Jie, are you looking to die?!" she shouted, her childish voice carrying a sharp edge of anger.

Song Jie smiled and stopped teasing her.

When he finally got home, he saw Mu Nujiao getting a drink from the refrigerator.

"Decided to come out?" Song Jie asked playfully as he walked over and wrapped an arm around her slender waist.

Mu Nujiao's pretty face flushed pink. Her gaze flicked nervously toward the second floor. "Tu Tu is still at home!"

"So what if she is?" Song Jie grinned mischievously, his hand slipping under her clothes.

"Mmm…" Mu Nujiao bit her lip, a soft sound escaping her mouth.

"Let's go to the room," she whispered.

Song Jie nodded, lifted her up, and carried her into his bedroom.

A night without words—only closeness.

Half a month passed.

In the living room, Ai Tutu had piled a mountain of snacks on the table and was eating happily.

After working hard on her cultivation, she had finally broken through to the Intermediate Level!

Song Jie walked out of the bedroom and spotted her on the sofa.

"You broke through?"

Ai Tutu looked up, her proud expression answering him without words.

"I'm so jealous," Song Jie sighed. "I've been stuck at the third level of the Intermediate Stage for so long and still haven't broken through to Advanced."

Ai Tutu's eye twitched, and she threw the apple she'd just peeled straight at him.

"Is that something a person should say!?"

Song Jie casually caught the apple midair and took a bite. "Not bad," he said. "You're getting ready for the Main Campus assessment, right?"

"Almost," Ai Tutu said proudly. She'd been training hard for that exam.

Song Jie smiled, grabbed a drink from the fridge, and sat beside her.

"How about we make a bet?" he said suddenly.

Ai Tutu narrowed her eyes suspiciously. "Bet what?"

She'd lost twice before when betting with Song Jie—this time she was determined to win.

A sly smile flashed in Song Jie's eyes. "Let's bet on what your Main Campus assessment will be."

Since the assessment hadn't been announced yet, Ai Tutu figured this was her chance to win for sure.

"Alright, I'll take that bet!" she said eagerly.

Song Jie looked at her triumphant expression and smirked. Big chest, small brain indeed.

"But I won't guess," Ai Tutu said quickly. "You guess! If you guess wrong, I win!"

She couldn't help but admire her own cleverness.

Song Jie rubbed his chin, pretending to hesitate.

"What's wrong? Scared?" Ai Tutu taunted, straightening her back—two generous curves pressing forward challengingly.

"Hah! Scared of you? Never!" Song Jie replied.

"Good! Then let's decide the punishment for the loser!" Ai Tutu said excitedly.

"You go first."

"If you lose, you have to be my servant for a whole day. You'll do whatever I say, no resistance allowed!" she declared proudly.

"Deal," Song Jie agreed instantly. "If you lose, you have to give me a 'Great Treasure Sword.'"

Ai Tutu blinked. "What's that?"

"You can look it up."

After a moment, she searched it up—and her face turned red. The "Great Treasure Sword" was another name for a bathhouse!

"Fine! I'll agree!" she huffed. There was no way he'd guess right anyway.

"Then tell me," Ai Tutu said smugly, "what do you think our Main Campus assessment will be?"

Song Jie smiled. "Your Main Campus assessment will involve finding a demon beast."

Ai Tutu just nodded, continuing to eat fruit. "Then it's settled!"

"A gentleman's word cannot be taken back," Song Jie said confidently. Everything was already within his expectations.

"Oh, right," he added, "don't go out at night these days."

"Why?"

"I heard there are perverts wandering around."

She gave him a suspicious look. "Wouldn't happen to be you, would it?"

Song Jie grinned. "If you want, I could play the part."

"Get lost!" she shouted, flustered.

After finishing her fruit, Ai Tutu picked up the bowl and headed upstairs.

"Wait," Song Jie called out. "Have you seen my Hunter's Badge?"

"Huh? No," Ai Tutu said, shaking her head before continuing up the stairs.

Song Jie frowned. He distinctly remembered having it after coming back from Masterpiece Private Garden.

"Could it have fallen there?" he muttered. "No... that shouldn't be possible."

Feeling troubled, he decided to ask Lingling later about getting a replacement.

Just then, his phone buzzed—it was Li Rui.

Song Jie's lips curved into a smile. There must be news about the Black Vatican.

"Song Jie, the person you asked me to monitor just made a move," Li Rui reported.

"Send me the location. I'm on my way," Song Jie said immediately.

After Li Rui sent the address, Song Jie called Tang Yue.

"What is it?" she asked.

"Teacher Tang Yue, I've found people from the Black Vatican. Do you want to come?"

"People from the Black Vatican?" Tang Yue's voice grew tense. "Did they attack you?"

"No, not yet. I overheard their conversation. Two of them are definitely Black Vatican members," Song Jie explained.

Tang Yue frowned. "Don't act rashly. Where are you now? I'll come right away."

"I'll send you a general location first. Once you're here, I'll give you the exact spot," he said.

"Alright," Tang Yue replied before receiving his coordinates.

Song Jie ended the call and went to the rooftop of his apartment.

He had already obtained a permit for his Summoned Beast to fly in the city.

"Little Eagle."

At his call, the Wind Riding Sky Eagle emerged from the Dimensional Space, spreading its mighty wings.

"Let's go." Song Jie climbed on its back and pointed ahead.

Tonight would be a sleepless night—

because he was going treasure hunting again!
