Chapter 149 - Chapter 148: You’re Missing

Song Jie and Tang Yue continued pretending to be a couple outside the restroom, chatting casually while keeping watch.

A short while later, Xiao Hei—the Little Black Cat—emerged from the restroom.

"Meow~~~"

It communicated with Song Jie in its usual cat language.

Before sending it in, Song Jie had instructed the cat to listen carefully for any voices or suspicious sounds.

"You didn't hear anyone talking?" Song Jie frowned.

Tang Yue's expression also darkened. That meant their situation was becoming unfavorable—because they still didn't know who the Blue Deacon was.

Without knowing his identity, they didn't know who to capture!

Inside the men's restroom, Mu Yuang stood waiting behind one of the stalls.

In the stall beside him was a middle-aged man writing something on a piece of white paper.

After he passed the note under the stall divider to Mu Yuang, his phone suddenly rang.

The man took it out, answered the call—and his expression instantly hardened.

"We'll split up now. The Judgment Association has found us," said the man.

"What!?"

Mu Yuang, who had been reading the message on the note, was startled. Upon hearing the words "Judgment Association," he immediately threw the note into the toilet and flushed it.

"Hurry! We don't have time!" the man urged.

Mu Yuang didn't question it. He pushed open the door and quickly left the restroom.

As soon as he was gone, the middle-aged man cursed him under his breath.

Useless fool.

He'd been in Magic City for this long without being discovered by the Judgment Association—yet after one meeting with Mu Yuang, they'd been exposed.

He planned to use Mu Yuang as bait while he escaped.

Opening his handbag, he took out a change of clothes—something he always carried in case of emergencies.

Outside the men's restroom, Song Jie and Tang Yue spotted Mu Yuang exiting.

They exchanged glances, confused about what had just happened.

"Song Jie, you follow him," Tang Yue said.

"My Summoned Beast can do that." Song Jie immediately sent Xiao Hei after Mu Yuang.

He couldn't afford to lose this big fish worth 120 million!

Tang Yue nodded. "Then you go in and check. But be careful."

Song Jie agreed. If this Blue Deacon recognized him, that reaction would be his chance to strike.

He cautiously entered the restroom and scanned the area.

Just then, the sound of a stall door opening echoed. Someone was coming out.

Song Jie pretended to be unbuckling his pants, keeping an eye on the man emerging from the stall through his peripheral vision.

There was no one else inside—this person had to be the Blue Deacon.

But Song Jie didn't dare act here. There were too many civilians nearby, and if the Deacon panicked, he might take hostages.

The moment the man stepped out, Song Jie discreetly followed.

Outside, Tang Yue was nowhere to be seen. She must have gone to track someone.

Meanwhile, the Judgment Association had already surrounded the area outside the Qing Bar.

That was how the Blue Deacon learned of their presence.

Song Jie reached the entrance but couldn't find Tang Yue.

He went back inside and asked the waiter if there were other exits.

After being told about an emergency exit, he rushed in that direction—only to find Tang Yue lying on the ground halfway there.

"Teacher Tang Yue!" Song Jie knelt beside her and gently lifted her up, checking her face.

"Song Jie," Tang Yue said weakly, "that Blue Deacon uses Curse magic. He set up an ambush beforehand."

Her face was pale and her body trembling.

She continued, "Don't chase him. Night Hawk's already gone after him—he won't escape."

"Don't talk." Song Jie immediately formed a Light Element Star Orbit in his mind.

"Radiance!"

"Penetrating Light!"

A golden glow burst forth in the darkness, flowing gently into Tang Yue's body.

The blinding light filled her vision, but she could feel it—the curse within her was fading away!

"Your Light Element can do this?" Tang Yue looked astonished. She knew Light Magic had purification properties, but the curse came from an Advanced Curse Mage.

It should've taken another Advanced Light Mage to dispel it.

"My Light Element's a little special," Song Jie said with a grin. "If you really want to thank me, you could always offer yourself to me—I wouldn't mind."

"Keep dreaming!" Tang Yue huffed, punching him in the chest.

Just then, two Judgment Association members arrived.

"Deputy Team Leader Tang! Are you alright?" one of them asked, seeing her weakened state.

"I'm fine now," Tang Yue replied, shaking her head.

"You came at the right time. Take care of her for me," Song Jie said, helping her sit up.

"You're going after him?"

"Yes. I'm helping you catch him. My Light Element can restrain his curses," Song Jie replied.

Tang Yue hesitated for a moment, then nodded. Maybe Song Jie really could make a difference.

Even if he couldn't, Night Hawk was more than capable of handling the Deacon alone—he was one of the Judgment Association's top fighters.

"Alright, go," Tang Yue said finally.

Song Jie turned to leave but paused, leaning close to whisper, "Teacher Tang Yue, you're… exposed. Pull your clothes up."

He said it quickly and dashed off.

Tang Yue blinked, then glanced down—and her face flushed bright red. Half her chest was visible!

Thankfully, only Song Jie had seen her from that angle. She quickly fixed her clothes.

On the outside, she smiled faintly. But in her heart, she fumed.

How does this brat always get so lucky? Every time, he somehow ends up taking advantage!

In the darkness, Song Jie flew through the night on the back of the Wind Riding Sky Eagle, tracking the Blue Deacon.

"Boom!"

A thunderous explosion echoed nearby.

They've already engaged!

Night Hawk must have found the target.

"Hurry!" Song Jie urged, not wanting his 120 million reward to slip away.

Moments later, he arrived at the site—but the combatants were gone.

Song Jie, now concealed in the shadows atop the Wind Riding Sky Eagle, scanned the area. No trace.

Then—he heard heavy footsteps running nearby.

His brows furrowed.

He'd lost his visual target, but that sound was his only lead.

Recalling the Wind Riding Sky Eagle, he activated Xiao Hei's Shadow Element ability and quietly followed the footsteps.

He soon noticed drops of blood along the path.

"Blood? Night Hawk's injured? That's impossible. Tang Yue said he's one of their strongest."

That could only mean one thing—

The injured one was likely the Blue Deacon!
