"Tell me about it," Song Jie said calmly. He already knew what Mo Fan was planning — but the Swamp Poison Centipede had already been dealt with by him.
Moreover, the other had been gravely injured by Song Jie earlier and was now hiding somewhere to recover.
He had done this deliberately, knowing Mo Fan needed the remains of the other monster to complete his task.
Since the Swamp Poison Centipede was already gone, the least he could do was make it easier to handle.
Mo Fan quickly explained his plan in detail.
"Brother Jie, what do you think of my plan?" Mo Fan asked eagerly.
"Your plan might fall through," Song Jie replied calmly.
"Ah?!" Mo Fan was stunned. "What do you mean?"
"Last night, I saw two Commander-level monsters fighting," Song Jie explained. "One of them was seriously injured, and the other one was killed."
Song Jie glanced at Li Man, who added, "Yes, the corpse of that Swamp Poison Centipede should already have been taken away by the military."
"Ah!!" Mo Fan froze in disbelief.
If that was true, then his plan was no longer usable!
But wait—he quickly realized something.
Song Jie said that two Commander-level monsters had fought, and the Swamp Poison Centipede was the one that died. That meant the other monster was the one who had been badly injured!
This monster had already been injured once before. Now, even while severely wounded, it still managed to kill the Swamp Poison Centipede?
Mo Fan couldn't help but marvel. Still, he didn't doubt Song Jie's words for even a moment.
He just knew one thing—the other monster had now suffered a double injury, which meant its power must have weakened tremendously!
Now was the perfect time to finish it off!
"That thing's strength must've dropped drastically after being injured twice!" Mo Fan said with conviction.
Song Jie could already tell what Mo Fan was thinking just by the look in his eyes.
"Fan Ge, whatever you decide, I'll go with you!" Zhang Xiaohou declared firmly.
He knew Mo Fan desperately needed essence orbs right now, so of course he would do everything he could to help him.
"What do you want to do?" Li Man asked in confusion.
"Isn't the other monster badly hurt? We'll strike while it's weak and kill it once and for all!" Mo Fan's eyes flashed slyly.
"You're saying you want to kill the other monster!?" Li Man exclaimed, utterly stunned.
Even a severely injured Commander-level monster was still far beyond what normal mages could handle. She thought Mo Fan must be out of his mind!
But Mo Fan ignored her disbelief and turned to Song Jie with a grin.
"Brother Jie, you know my situation…" Mo Fan winked, making his intentions clear—he wanted Song Jie to help him.
Song Jie easily saw through Mo Fan's little act and smiled faintly.
"Brother Jie, I'll owe you another favor for this!" Mo Fan added, feeling a little guilty since he already owed Song Jie one before.
"For Xin Xia's sake, I'll help you," Song Jie said casually.
Mo Fan frowned slightly—the wording was strange—but now wasn't the time to overthink it.
As long as Song Jie agreed, his chances of success had skyrocketed!
"Then it's settled. Tomorrow, we'll hunt down the other monster!" Mo Fan said, barely containing his excitement. He could already feel himself getting closer to reclaiming his strength.
Li Man, watching this group of reckless men, didn't know whether to laugh or sigh.
Still, she was curious to see if they could really pull it off. If not, she could always call in the military to clean up afterward.
The next morning, Song Jie, Mo Fan, Zhang Xiaohou, and Li Man set out early to search for the turtile monster.
Mo Fan guessed that the creature must be hiding somewhere to heal its wounds, so finding it quickly was crucial.
Fortunately, Song Jie had already followed its trail after their earlier encounter and knew its approximate location.
Under his lead, the group soon arrived at a swampy area.
"It's right there!" Mo Fan pointed ahead, recognizing it immediately.
It always camouflaged itself using its shell—but Mo Fan saw through the trick in an instant.
He could also tell that the creature was indeed gravely injured—far worse than before!
"Heaven favors me! What a windfall!" Mo Fan grinned from ear to ear.
He turned to Song Jie, eyes gleaming. "Brother Jie, let's do this! That thing won't last much longer!"
Song Jie nodded silently.
"What about me, Fan Ge?" Zhang Xiaohou asked eagerly.
"Xiaohou, act according to the situation when the time comes," Mo Fan said, already itching to attack.
"Then I'll go first! You two follow!"
Without another word, Mo Fan charged forward, a dark and fierce aura erupting around him.
The monster sensed his approach and quickly emerged from the swamp.
But this time, it didn't even think about fighting—it wanted to escape!
Unfortunately for it, Mo Fan had no intention of letting it get away. This was an essence orb within arm's reach!
He launched a powerful punch straight at the monster, sending it crashing backward.
But as a Commander-level monster, it wasn't so easy to kill.
It glared angrily at Mo Fan, then suddenly noticed Song Jie standing behind him.
Its body stiffened.
It would never forget this human—the one who had wounded it so terribly before!
The last bit of fighting spirit it had completely vanished.
Only one thought remained in its mind: Run! Get out of here as fast as possible!
Mo Fan mistook its fear for intimidation from him and felt even bolder.
"Trying to escape? Did you ask your Grandpa Mo Fan for permission first?!" he shouted arrogantly, striking again and again.
The Wu Ke Jv Xi felt utterly wronged. It wasn't afraid of Mo Fan at all—it was terrified of Song Jie!
But it was too injured to fight back. Overwhelmed, it finally gave up and curled back into its shell.
Mo Fan slammed his fists on the shell repeatedly, but it didn't even crack.
"If you've got guts, come out and fight!" he roared furiously.
Inside the shell, the Wu Ke Jv Xi fumed.
If it weren't for that dangerous man nearby, it would've torn Mo Fan apart already!
But right now, retreating was its only choice.
Mo Fan scowled, disgusted by its cowardice. "Brother Jie, any way to force it out?"
Song Jie calmly stepped forward.
The Wu Ke Jv Xi immediately trembled in fear.
It knew exactly how terrifying this man's power was!
When it tried to flee again—it was already too late.
"Radiance!"
"Piercing Soul!!"
Song Jie traced the Star Path, and blinding golden light surged forth. The radiant beam struck the Wu Ke Jv Xi's shell and detonated instantly!
Golden light burst through every crack, searing into the creature's body.
A piercing wail echoed through the swamp as the Wu Ke Jv Xi's soul was torn apart.
