Obelisk the Tormentor, the Destroyer God!!!
The field emitted a sound akin to a sorrowful cry as it split open, the ground bursting with cracks! The blue giant emerged from within, its body slowly rising, and its crimson eyes seemed to contain boiling lava and endless fury, as if ready to burn everything to ashes.
[Obelisk the Tormentor, Attack Power 4000]
"Egyptian... Egyptian God..." Some students were already dumbfounded.
"Obelisk... that's it!" Yusei suddenly remembered, "At the beginning of the duel, discarded were two cards, where one was used as a shield 'Shield Warrior'…
...and the other was Obelisk!"
Could it be that Mr. Youyu foresaw the end from the beginning?
No wonder he is the Duelist I admire the most!
Dark clouds and lightning enveloped the entire Duel Academy Island, everyone clearly saw this earth-shaking event.
The white dragon shrouded in holy light, and the giant seemingly ablaze with blue flames. The whole world seemed divided, half belonging to the enormous dragon, half to the blue giant.
The two entities challenged each other, with their aura and energy clashing countless times invisibly in the air.
The two D-Wheels sped through the energy field at full speed, the endless Yusei Particles released like spirits freed after thousands of years, occupying the entire space with cheers!
Yusei Particles released unimpeded, space continually impacted. Everyone saw cracks appear in the sky, like glass struck by a heavy hammer, slowly expanding.
Dimensional fissures began to appear!
The duel continued.
According to normal duel procedures, now Yusei should undoubtedly use Battle Recall to cancel Shooting Quasar Dragon's attack command.
The Egyptian God specially summoned by the card's effect is only on the field for three minutes... oh no, that's only one turn.
At the end of the turn, Obelisk the Tormentor must return to the graveyard due to its own effect. Then, Youyu's field would again be empty, while Yusei's side would still retain the ace monster Shooting Quasar Dragon, maintaining absolute advantage.
Of course, that's in normal circumstances.
But the purpose of this duel was never about winning or losing. From the start, they were trying to create a dimensional gap through the energy of the Riding Duel.
Now, success seemed only a step away, certainly, they wouldn't retreat now.
"Continue the battle!" Yusei decisively, "Shooting Quasar Dragon, attack 'Obelisk the Tormentor'!"
Creation Burst-Genesis Explosion!!!"
The second strike of Shooting Quasar Dragon! It spun in mid-air, gathering momentum anew, transforming into a meteoric force, drawing a line straight towards the giant god for a fierce blow!
"Obelisk!" Youyu ordered likewise, "God Fist Crush!!!"
Obelisk wouldn't concede defeat, swinging its fist at the Shooting Quasar Dragon enveloped in sky brilliance. Divine blow seemed to stir up a tumultuous wave, blue energy like a massive tidal surge!
The attack power was also four thousand, the result of which would inevitably be mutual destruction—both Shooting Quasar Dragon and the giant god perishing under this blow, their energy released to the maximum extent in this fierce clash,
yet as the two waves of energy rushed into the sky, entered the dimensional rift, visibly tearing the crack a bit wider, it still seemed lacking just a little.
"Mr. Youyu, I sense some kind of resistance!" Yusei struggled to stabilize the D-Wheel in the energy storm, shouting, "It's like... there's some power preventing us from passing through!"
Indeed, the energy generated by this duel should logically be massive enough, should be able to carve out a path. Yet Youyu also sensed there's some obstacle on the other side, some force seems to be blocking the gate to the Other Dimension from opening to them.
Then it seems a bit more fuel needs to be added to this fire.
"Activate the Set Card."
Youyu flipped the backfield card—his final Set Card.
"Trap Card 'Duelist's Fusion'!" The trap card flipped beside Youyu, releasing enormous energy, "When both monsters attack, each side takes damage equal to the combined attack values of both monsters!" (Anime effect)
Yusei: "!"
An observing Kaiba's eyelid twitched: "This guy Youyu... plans to combine the energies of both monsters for an explosive breakthrough?"
"The combined attack power of Obelisk and Shooting Quasar Dragon is eight thousand!" Youyu's voice was almost swallowed by the storm, "Which means each of us will take eight thousand points of effect damage..."
The intense light made it impossible for everyone to open their eyes. Obelisk roared, its massive fist cracked under the backlash of light, like wood disintegrating and collapsing, until the giant shattered into powder.
Shooting Quasar Dragon let out a wail, its noble divine body similarly collapsing and fragmenting until completely ruptured.
Their bodies disintegrated, mighty energy erupted from both, seemingly unbound! The divine force pierced the firmament, the sky finally torn, revealing a tunnel to another world.
A light column crashed down heavily, striking the ground of the Academy Island as if the entire surface sank suddenly!
The sea erupted into turbulence, seas violently pounding against both sides of the coast, with debris and dust scattered everywhere.
At the center of the duel, Yusei and Youyu naturally bore the brunt—the light curtain first engulfed them and their vehicles, as if they had been absorbed into a bridge of light, vanishing into the other dimension.
Then more people responded.
First to react were the players—unable to contain their excitement, they rushed towards the light column, running while shouting joyfully, some even bounding and rolling.
No wonder they're so excited, this means a map change!
What does a map change mean?
It means a limited-time event, more experience, more Duel Discs, and more Card Decks!
No duelist can resist such temptation! None!
Next to react were Judai's companions.
They had long decided to follow Principal Youyu to fight, to retrieve Judai's lost parts, naturally having no hesitation now.
Each of them has irreplaceable memories with Judai, with their reasons, their determinations to recover their companion!
Thus, it's no surprise they rushed toward the light column.
Only after three full minutes did the enormous light curtain finally vanish slowly.
Like a vicious light tornado that came fiercely and vanished quickly, soon the light seemed retracted back into the sky's fissure, until even the crack vanished without a trace.
