"The effect of 'Level Eater' in the graveyard activates again!" Yusei shouted, "Reduce the Level 5 'Junk Warrior' on the field by one star, and Level Eater can be Special Summoned!"
[Junk Warrior, LV5 → LV4]
The Level Eater passed through the blue warrior's chest and abdomen, stole a star with its mouth, and jumped back onto the field once more.
"The Level 5 'Quickdraw Synchro', the Level 2 'Doppelwarrior', the Level 1 'Level Eater', the three monsters will tune!"
Yusei accelerated and started chanting loudly.
"Gathered hope leads to a new horizon, become the path that shines brightly!"
[5+2+1=8]
"Synchro Summon!" Yusei shouted, "Cross over! Level 8, Road Warrior!!!"
A new Synchro Summon, and this time appeared a Level 8 warrior. The golden armor covered the warrior's robust body, crashing onto the ground like a heavy mecha, with crimson light piercing from his eyes like a sword.
[Road Warrior, ATK 3000]
"This guy..." Xiang Marufuji exclaimed, "In this situation, can he still continue his play?"
No one spoke, but Yusei was proving with his actions—absolutely no problem!
"Road Warrior, activate effect!" Yusei declared, "Once per turn, Special Summon a Level 2 or lower Warrior-Type or Machine-Type monster from the deck.
I will Summon the Level 2 Machine-Type—Turbo Rocket!"
[Turbo Rocket, ATK 0]
"Then activate the effect of 'Level Eater' in the graveyard again!" Yusei announced, "Reduce the Level 8 'Road Warrior' on the field by one star, and Special Summon itself again!"
[Road Warrior, LV 8 → LV 7]
The Level Eater flew through the formidable golden warrior's chest once again, returning to the field.
[Level Eater, ATK 600]
"The Level 2 Tuner Monster 'Turbo Rocket', the Level 1 'Level Eater', tune again!"
The Tuner Monster once again manifested green rings, the stars transformed into monsters encircling the rings. The special effect of Synchro Summoning appeared countless times, dizzying to behold.
"Synchro Summon... how can so many be performed in one turn!?" Xiang Marufuji was stunned.
"This duel is far beyond anything we could have imagined." Mitsuzawa said solemnly, "This duelist named Fudo Yusei, his strength is simply from another dimension."
"Synchro Summon!" Yusei completed another Synchro of the turn, "Level 3, Turbo Cannon!"
[Turbo Cannon, DEF 0]
"A Synchro Monster with zero stats?" Manjome was surprised.
"Turbo Cannon, activate effect!" Yusei shouted, "Once per turn, destroy one face-up monster on the field and deal damage equal to half of its attack to its controller!
Go, Turbo Cannon! Destroy 'Gaia the Magical Knight of Dragons'!"
On Youyu's field, there were two 'Gaia the Magical Knight of Dragons', but even a fool would know that Yusei was targeting the 5200 attack one.
The Turbo Cannon trailed a string of golden flames in mid-air, raising its arms as the heavy cannon drew two dazzling trails, crashing head-on into Gaia!
The Dragon Knight exploded violently, and the Curse Dragon beneath it let out a sharp wail, descending with the Knight.
[Youyu, LP 3300 → LP 700]
The 2600 impact caused a violent shake on Youyu's D-Wheel as well, the speed drastically reduced, its front swaying. Yusei revved up, once more overtaking him to regain the lead position.
"Then activate the effect of 'Level Eater' in the graveyard once again!" Yusei continued, "Reduce the now Level 7 'Road Warrior' by one star, 'Level Eater' Special Summon from the graveyard!"
[Road Warrior, LV 7 → LV 6]
[Level Eater, DEF 0]
Youyu's eyebrows raised slightly.
This way, the Level of Road Warrior has decreased from eight stars to six. And Junk Warrior also had a star eaten by the Level Eater once before, dropping from its original five stars to four stars.
With this, the conditions are set once again!
"Level 2, Synchro Tuner 'Formula Synchro'! Level 4, Synchro Monster 'Junk Warrior'! Level 6, Synchro Monster 'Road Warrior'—
—Tune!!!"
Yusei's booming voice fell, and the three Synchro Monsters began the most extreme Synchro!
The Formula Synchro transformed into a ring, surrounding the two Synchro Warriors. Ten stars aligned in a chain, adding the two rings, their combined level totaled twelve— the cap for the Duel Monster Realm stars, even higher than the Egyptian God's star level by two tiers!
"When the gathered stars become one, the new bonds will illuminate the future! Become the path that shines brightly!
Beyond Limit Accel Synchro!!!"
The world altered as even the surrounding air seemed red hot. Scorching air, super-speed storm, the pillar of Synchro light, the speeding D-Wheel, and the searing wind, they all converged.
It was a speed surpassing even light, puncturing through the very fabric of space!
The current exploded, and the red D-Wheel appeared like the shadow of death! It charged out at full speed, breaking through the invisible barrier, and once again vaporized from the field!
Youyu felt a scorching light sweep past him, transforming into the form of the D-Wheel and rider ahead. Yusei returned to the track, accompanied by an immense, divinely radiant dragon!
That was the ultimate realm Yusei comprehended in the finale, his ace, evolved by the power of Stardust!
"Light of Evolution!" Yusei shouted, "Shooting Quasar Dragon!!!"
[Shooting Quasar Dragon, ATK 4000]
Everyone was shocked.
What a divine monster this was!
The heavenly phenomena upon its appearance, coupled with the Duelist himself moving at super-light speed, were already enough to challenge perceptions, and the arrival of this super Synchro Monster left everyone dumbfounded.
Even Kaiba Seto, who had seen it all, couldn't help but narrow his eyes and look in disbelief at the ultimate dragon.
Even with his vast experience, such monsters were rare as phoenix feathers and unicorn horns; he had only seen a handful in his life.
Though Youyu was also facing the legendary Shooting Quasar Dragon for the first time, he was prepared psychologically and not too surprised.
Furthermore, in theory, the Shooting Quasar here should have the anime effect—Shooting Quasar in the anime was nearly tailor-made for the environment of Yusei's fierce battle at the time, but in fact, its practicality isn't as strong as the physical card effect.
"Shooting Quasar Dragon can attack a number of times during the Battle Phase equal to the number of Synchro Material monsters used for this card's Synchro Summon," Yusei said, "Since there are three Synchro Materials, Shooting Quasar Dragon can attack three times per turn!" (Anime effect)
"Attack power of four thousand... and it can attack three times?" Mokuba was shocked.
Kaiba frowned, "Is it a similar ability to my 'Neo Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon'?"
But he could also sense that this dragon's power was surely far from simple.
"Shooting Quasar Dragon!" Yusei raised his fist, "Attack 'Gaia the Magical Knight of Dragons'!!!"
Shooting Quasar Dragon soared into the air, Stardust's brilliance swirling around its body, plunging as if to pierce the sky!
Divine Creation Strike - Creation Burst!!!
On Youyu's field, only Gaia, whose attack power had dropped to 0, remained, naturally unable to withstand this blow.
"But the effect of the Trap Card 'Intrigue Shield' equipped to Gaia prevents the equipped monster from being destroyed by battle once per turn!"
"It's useless," Yusei said, "Shooting Quasar Dragon can negate effects like 'Negate Destroy'! Therefore, the effect of 'Intrigue Shield' that prevents the equipped monster from being destroyed is negated!" (Anime effect)
As if sprinting with the force of creation, Gaia was powerless to resist before this brilliance and was obliterated in the blink of an eye under Shooting Quasar's endless divine might!
Youyu steadied the D-Wheel amid the impact and light flow, "But the other effect of 'Intrigue Shield' remains—any battle damage inflicted on me by the equipped monster's battle is reduced to 0."
"But with this, Mr. Youyu, you have no monsters left to defend with, and Shooting Quasar Dragon still has two attacks remaining!" Yusei shouted, "Go, Shooting Quasar Dragon! Direct attack!"
The second consecutive impact, the curtain of light enveloped the earth, and the overwhelming pressure felt like an invisible hand on the heart, making it hard to breathe!
"The energy is approaching peak value!" Mokuba looked at his brother, "It's many times stronger than the energy released during the last 'Duel Links' system crash!
Just a little more, and the Dimension Gate can be opened..."
The appearance of Shooting Quasar maximized the release of Yusei Particles, and the terrifying energy tore open a spatial rift, a crack faintly apparent among the dense black clouds.
Just one last bit is needed!
But if Youyu were to take this hit here, the duel would end, and perhaps their efforts would be for naught, falling just short of opening the pathway to another realm.
Youyu looked up at the diving Shooting Quasar, his mouth subtly curling into a smile.
"Just a bit more... let me add a bit to the fire." He snapped his fingers.
"Activate the Set Card," Youyu said, "Trap Card 'Super Team Buddy Force Unite!' Choose a face-up monster on the field and Special Summon from your hand or Graveyard a monster of the same type but with a different card name as that monster.
The one I choose is 'Shooting Quasar Dragon'!"
Yusei frowned, "Shooting Quasar Dragon is Dragon-Type, Mr. Youyu is going to summon Dragon-Type here..."
"Not at all," Youyu smiled, "At this moment, I chain and activate the Continuous Trap 'DNA Surgery.' Declare a Type, and all monsters on the field become of the declared Type.
The Type I declare is—
——Divine Beast-Type!"
Yusei: "!"
Everyone: "!!!"
Divine Beast-Type!? Does that mean...
"The effect of 'Super Team Buddy Force Unite!' is processed!" Youyu shouted, "Since 'Shooting Quasar Dragon' has been rewritten as Divine Beast-Type, I can Special Summon a monster from my hand or Graveyard with a different card name and of Divine Beast-Type!
The burning gusts swept the earth, suppressing all with absolute Divine Power! Descend——
——The Tormentor, Obelisk the Tormentor!!!"
