Chapter 566 - Chapter 311: Is Obito Innately Evil?

"If there's an old granny walking slowly in front of you and slowing you down, would you want to hit her?" Obito asked Uchiha Itachi.

Uchiha Itachi looked at Obito with confusion in his big eyes, "W-why would I hit an old granny?"

Obito scratched his head; naturally, a normal person wouldn't hit her, but you've done things like wiping out your own clan, so hitting an old granny shouldn't be out of the ordinary, right?

Obito thought for a moment and decided he needed to give Uchiha Itachi some choices; he couldn't let him answer with another question.

"If you encounter an old granny moving slowly while you're crossing the street, you have three choices."

"A. Help the granny cross the street."

"B. Ignore the granny and walk your own way."

"C. Steal the lollipop from the granny's hand."

After presenting the problem and options, Obito added quickly, "No answering a question with a question, you have to choose an option."

Shisui looked at Uchiha Itachi, curious about his choice.

Even though Obito's question was a bit childish, Uchiha Itachi was still young, without too much on his mind, so it could serve as a little test.

Uchiha Itachi stared blankly at Obito, and after two minutes, he answered, "I choose B, to keep my distance and walk my own way."

Obito showed an expression as if he expected this; he thought Uchiha Itachi didn't seem like a good kid, not even aware of respecting the elderly and caring for the young.

"As expected, an inherently evil little brat with such thoughts at a young age; wouldn't he be stealing lollipops in a couple of years?" Obito thought to himself.

"So, Itachi, why did you choose B?" Shisui wanted to know what was on Uchiha Itachi's mind.

"I fall down when I walk, so approaching the granny might make both of us fall to the ground." Uchiha Itachi honestly replied.

Shisui was a bit surprised looking at Uchiha Itachi; despite his unclear speech, he had such clear thoughts, possibly indicating he might actually be an extraordinary talent.

Obito's expression froze on his face, while Shisui revealed a pensive expression.

"Why not steal the granny's lollipop? She's walking very slowly, she won't catch up with you," Obito whispered in a devil-like tempting voice.

"How could I steal from others, Brother Obito? Stealing from others is a very bad thing," Uchiha Itachi said with a serious face.

Uchiha Itachi's words made Obito almost lose his composure; he was here to test, but it seemed like he was the naturally evil Uchiha.

"Let's not talk about this anymore, Itachi, I want to tell you a story, do you want to hear it?" Shisui stepped in to break the awkward situation.

Uchiha Itachi moved his gaze to Shisui and nodded.

"Once upon a time, there was a ninja..." Shisui told a very cliched positive-energy story.

The plot was about a ninja with a tragic childhood who stayed optimistic and changed their surroundings, eventually making the country and the world a better place.

After the story was told, Uchiha Fugaku happened to return to the living room, seeing the harmonious scene, he smiled, "Looks like you're getting along quite well."

Shisui gave a slight smile and praised Uchiha Itachi, and Obito followed with a compliment too.

Uchiha Fugaku's smile became even more pronounced.

"Thank you for your trouble today, Uncle Fugaku," Shisui prepared to make his exit.

Uchiha Itachi was too young, so Uchiha Fugaku would be more attentive, making it unsuitable to stay too long.

"It's no trouble, if there's any issue, feel free to come to me like today," Uchiha Fugaku said with a big smile.

"The brothers are leaving, Itachi, is there anything you want to say?" Uchiha Fugaku looked at Uchiha Itachi.

Uchiha Itachi nodded and turned his gaze back to Obito, "Brother Obito, bullying old grannies is not good."

Uchiha Fugaku looked at Obito with some surprise, curious why Uchiha Itachi would say such a thing to Obito.

Obito: ....

"You're the one who would bully old grannies!" Obito roared in his heart; he was a good Konoha boy who always helped grannies across the street.

"Itachi, I was just hypothetically speaking just now, not really saying to go and do such things," Obito explained aloud.

Uchiha Itachi made an "oh" sound and nodded.

Obito felt a sense of powerlessness, his gaze towards Uchiha Itachi changed slightly.

"No wonder he could wipe out the Uchiha clan in the future, he really can't be underestimated at all," Obito felt this Uchiha Itachi was difficult to deal with.

"Children have no ill intentions, don't worry about it, Obito,"

Uchiha Fugaku smiled and explained for Uchiha Itachi.

Obito showed a magnanimous expression, indicating he didn't mind, then left together with Shisui.

A little distance away, Obito couldn't hold back his desire to complain anymore.

"This Uchiha Itachi really isn't simple, such thoughts at a young age, maybe he used many schemes during the clan's annihilation," Obito complained.

Shisui offered a different opinion, "I actually think we shouldn't look at the current Uchiha Itachi with the eyes of his future actions."

"No matter what reasons or difficulties the future Uchiha Itachi had for undertaking the clan's annihilation, it was an unforgivable sin, but that's the future Uchiha Itachi."

"The current Uchiha Itachi is just a little kid who speaks unclearly; he may not have such sinister intentions."

Shisui believed judging across time was not wise; one cannot simply assume the past Uchiha Itachi would commit crimes ascribed to the future Uchiha Itachi.

"I think you make a lot of sense, Shisui, but what should we do then, we can't just do nothing," Obito scratched his head and said.
