Chapter 702 - Chapter 371: Power of Two Ninja Blades (Part 2)

To say that Might Guy's strength relies entirely on the Golden Horizon would be an oversight; the Eight Gates and Breath of Rock are the true essence, though the Golden Horizon indeed afforded Might Guy a tremendous boost.

Kakashi lost to Might Guy's Golden Horizon in battles several times; it's an impeccable and powerful Taijutsu.

Although comprehending the Breath of Rock Chakra Mode resulted in a qualitative change in Might Guy's strength, Kakashi couldn't surpass him in a short time.

But having a Lightning Release Blade Technique to match the Golden Horizon somewhat offered hope, preventing perpetual distress over the Golden Horizon.

"Let's leave here first." Mokgetsu moved the base with Kakashi.

Though he chose a remote location, the commotion just now was a bit much; in order not to be disturbed, Mokgetsu needed a new, better spot.

At times like this, the farsight function of the Byakugan becomes very useful. Perception Ninjutsu can only sense Chakra, while the Byakugan genuinely sees with the eyes, offering a broader and more detailed observation.

"The Lightning Release Blade Technique I'm going to teach you is the Thoughtless Slash, a peerless strike unleashed when gathering the entire body's strength in a state of no thoughts or emotions," Mokgetsu introduced simply.

Kakashi listened earnestly; although the name was a bit odd, that wasn't the point—strength was what mattered.

Entering formal teaching, Mokgetsu gave Kakashi an Enlightenment.

Without the Enlightenment and teaching support, Kakashi couldn't learn the Thoughtless Slash at his current level.

Thus, Mokgetsu said it was barely learnable, only possible with system skill support, without which it couldn't be learned.

Due to the battlefield circumstances, Mokgetsu didn't teach for long, only for a few hours, before returning Kakashi.

On the way back, Mokgetsu used Appraisal to glance at Kakashi; the Thoughtless Slash hadn't even appeared in Kakashi's skill list, meaning he hadn't practiced any proficiency with it.

This was within Mokgetsu's expectations; Might Guy practiced hard for a long time before entering the basics of the Golden Horizon, yet even today hadn't reached proficiency; powerful skills are indeed hard to train.

...

Returning alone to Konoha, strolling through the bustling streets unchanged from memory back to the deserted home, Shisui suddenly felt an inexplicable sense of melancholy.

The uncle who looked after him in childhood was gone, Mokgetsu wasn't around either; now in Konoha, he was even the only disciple of Mokgetsu.

However, Shisui wasn't one to indulge in sentimental thoughts; the melancholy came and went quickly. After tidying up the house, he began his cultivation.

He wouldn't be apart from Mokgetsu and others for long; after the Jonin assessment, he'd leave Konoha.

Having dinner that night, Shisui didn't continue with cultivation but went to Uchiha Fugaku's home.

Of course, he wasn't there to see Uchiha Fugaku; Shisui went to see Uchiha Itachi.

Shisui hadn't forgotten his responsibility to guide Uchiha Itachi. To prevent Uchiha Itachi from becoming that future traitor who recognizes no one, he must instill some positive energy thoughts in Uchiha Itachi.

Uchiha Fugaku was very pleased with Shisui's arrival; though unaware of the title Shisui of the Body Flicker from the rear, that clash with Obito had already earned enough prestige for the Uchiha Clan.

"How long are you planning to rest on this return?" Uchiha Fugaku inquired with a smile.

He had thought Shisui was returning with the whole team for rear area recuperation.

"Barring unexpected events, I'll return to the battlefield the day after tomorrow," Shisui pondered before replying.

Tomorrow, he would participate in the Jonin assessment, and based on Kakashi and the others' experiences, results came out a day later, so Shisui planned on returning directly to the battlefield the day after, regardless of promotion.

"The main purpose of returning this time is to participate in the Jonin assessment, so I won't stay long."

Uchiha Fugaku's face showed a hint of surprise; if he remembered correctly, Shisui was only eight years old now. Passing the assessment would make him the unprecedented 8-year-old Jonin.

The recent youngest Jonin record set by Kakashi would be broken again by Shisui.

"Itachi, you should truly learn from Shisui. He is the prodigy our Uchiha Clan should be proud of." Uchiha Fugaku generously praised in front of them.

The young Uchiha Itachi didn't grasp the conversation between Shisui and Uchiha Fugaku or understand what Jonin meant, yet he nodded politely.

Compared to Obito, Shisui appeared very intelligent, not saying incomprehensible things.

"Whether I pass the assessment is uncertain, so if I don't pass, Itachi, you don't need to learn from me." Shisui chuckled, patting Uchiha Itachi's little head.

Most of the time, Shisui was calm and quiet, but now he occasionally made a small joke.

"With your abilities, Shisui, it's highly likely you'll pass." Uchiha Fugaku foresaw the new topic of discussion among ninjas in a few days.

"Being cautious helps avoid mistakes," Shisui said, shaking his head.

He didn't underestimate the Jonin assessment. After all, both Might Guy and Obito failed the assessment, leaving only Kakashi who became a Jonin through it.

"As for the written exam, it's hard to improve in a short time; it depends on long-term accumulation. However, I can give some practical guidance on your Fire Release," Uchiha Fugaku suggested after a thought.

As the clan leader of the Uchiha Clan and captain of Konoha Police Department, Uchiha Fugaku was indeed busy, with numerous duties.

Nevertheless, whether he had time also depended on the beneficiary. If it was Shisui, one of the Uchiha Clan's futures, Uchiha Fugaku could squeeze his limited spare time to enhance Shisui's capabilities.

Shisui originally planned to dismiss Uchiha Fugaku perfunctorily and then take Uchiha Itachi for a walk to educate him.

Yet, Uchiha Fugaku's excessive enthusiasm made Shisui hesitant to refuse.

After all, Uchiha Fugaku had shown him considerable kindness, perhaps related to his ninja talent, but Fugaku's genuine goodwill was undeniable.

"Then I'll trouble you," Shisui eventually agreed.

Then, Uchiha Fugaku took Itachi and Shisui to a nearby clearing.

Despite being one of the ninjas who fought against the Seven-Swords Ninja, Shisui was now about to become a Jonin; Uchiha Fugaku wouldn't underestimate him.

If he didn't want to sleep on the street tonight, definitely, they couldn't fight in the yard at home.

"Itachi, stay aside and watch carefully; don't come too close," Uchiha Fugaku advised before the battle.

He was confident he wouldn't harm Uchiha Itachi no matter what, but as for Shisui, he wasn't sure.

Thereafter, Uchiha Fugaku said to Shisui, "Shisui, don't hold back; use your full strength."

After some thought, Shisui immediately entered the Breath of Flame Chakra Mode.

Being the clan head of the Uchiha Clan, Uchiha Fugaku might not have notable battle records but potentially surpassed two of the Seven-Swords Ninja in strength.

Shisui wished to test the role of his Breath of Flame Chakra Mode in battle with such a strong opponent, given that Fugaku asked for full force.

Shisui pushed his breathing to its limits, drawing large amounts of oxygen into his body and converting it into power.

The instant Shisui entered the Breath of Flame Chakra Mode, his Chakra drained rapidly, and he sensed changes within his body.

Enhanced physicality was merely a side effect; the true specialty of the Breath of Flame Chakra Mode was the ability to reinforce Fire Attribute Chakra Nature Changes, greatly amplifying the power of flames.

"Fire Release: Great Fireball Jutsu!"

With hands joined, Shisui swiftly transformed all the Chakra condensed in his throat into Fire Attribute Chakra and expelled it in one breath.

The Fire Attribute Chakra transformed into blazing flames that rapidly formed a gigantic fireball, hurling it at Uchiha Fugaku.

Uchiha Fugaku, having just finished the hand seals, was stunned.

As a fellow Uchiha, Uchiha Fugaku was ready to start with a Great Fireball, but he hadn't anticipated that Shisui could release a Great Fireball without seals—something he couldn't achieve even after years of practice.

Shisui's performance truly amazed and confused Fugaku.
