Some Konoha ninja marveled at the power of the Tailed Beasts. So many Konoha Jonin besieged it, but it wasn't an easy fight.
"After today, Teacher Mokgetsu's fame will only grow!" Obito thought excitedly as he watched Mokgetsu flash forward.
When hearing Konoha villagers discuss how genius Kakashi is, Obito was dismissive, thinking they lacked vision. But when someone mentioned Mokgetsu's extraordinary strength, Obito immediately praised them for recognizing greatness.
Although there was a bit of personal bias mixed in, Obito truly felt that Mokgetsu deserved the kind of reputation that the Sannin had, shaking the Ninja World.
It's simply because Mokgetsu deserves it. In terms of strength, Obito didn't think Mokgetsu was inferior to Orochimaru and Tsunade, and in other aspects, Mokgetsu was far ahead.
"The battle is finally coming to an end." Kakashi sighed with relief in his heart.
Mokgetsu's reaction ability was terrifying. In Kakashi's mind, the moment the Three-tails stretched out its head, its defeat was inevitable.
Although the Three-tails had a lot of strong chakra, it was too clumsy, and in close combat, it could only roll people or whip its tail, with only a Tailed Beast Ball for long-range attacks, and no understanding of ninjutsu.
For Mokgetsu, who was proficient in the Flying Thunder God Jutsu, dealing with the rampaging Three-tails might be easier than dealing with Yagura.
Orochimaru stopped in his tracks and silently watched Mokgetsu wield his sword against the shrinking Three-tails.
Every ninja on the battlefield focused their gaze on this one man and one beast.
Mokgetsu, who had activated the Breath of Thunder Chakra Mode in advance, instantly transformed a large amount of chakra into Lightning Attribute Chakra, which he then injected into Enma as he raised his blade. The dazzling purple lightning entwined the sword, turning Enma into a blade of lightning.
"Thoughtless Slash!"
In the Breath of Thunder Chakra Mode, Mokgetsu moved with remarkable speed. As soon as the Three-tails retracted its head two-thirds into its shell, the purple lightning-enshrouded Enma had already swung down.
Boom!
Crack!
The blade light interwoven with purple lightning flashed, and the hard giant spikes in front were directly and violently severed.
One, two, three... The hard giant spikes blocking Mokgetsu's path were all shattered by the overwhelming Thunder Slash, directly targeting the sleeping Jinchuriki.
Perhaps due to the terrifying momentum of the Thoughtless Slash or an overwhelming sense of fate, the Jinchuriki opened his eyes at the last moment.
But the slash was too quick and powerful. The instant after the Jinchuriki opened his eyes, his head was struck by the slash, leaving no time for words or expressions before he disintegrated into the air.
The relationship between a Jinchuriki and the Tailed Beasts is unique. If the tailed beast is extracted, the Jinchuriki is doomed to die. Even the life-force-sturdy Uzumaki Clan can only hold on for a little longer, and if the tailed beast remains within the Jinchuriki when they die, the tailed beast dies with them.
However, death is not the endpoint for a tailed beast. After a tailed beast dies, it will be resurrected; their lives virtually see no end.
"No!" The Three-tails roared defiantly before its demise.
It was utterly unwilling, having been captured and imprisoned within a human body, now killed by a ninja, its rage was uncontainable.
Yet, the Three-tails' unwillingness and anger couldn't alter the fact of its death. The moment the Jinchuriki was slain by Mokgetsu's Thoughtless Slash, the Three-tails' body changed rapidly, finally disintegrating into particles of light and dissipating in the air under the shocked gaze of the ninjas.
Before its death, the Three-tails' enormous eyes locked onto Mokgetsu, as if to etch Mokgetsu's image deep into its being.
As the Three-tails vanished, the innate Blazing Sun also disappeared, and darkness re-shrouded the battlefield.
"He actually succeeded!" A Konoha Jonin couldn't help but express surprise at seeing the massive tailed beast vanish.
He had assumed Mokgetsu's surprise attack would fail seeing how fast the Three-tails retracted its head but didn't expect Mokgetsu to succeed in killing the Jinchuriki in one strike.
"What a terrifying slash indeed." Hyuga Hizashi recalled Mokgetsu's devastating strike in awe.
With his Byakugan, he could clearly see the details of Mokgetsu's Thoughtless Slash, as those incredibly hard giant spikes seemed as fragile as ordinary wood against Mokgetsu's Thunder Slash.
"I may have underestimated Mokgetsu's strength a little." Nara Shikaku was also secretly amazed in his heart.
Even though he didn't possess any dojutsu to see the details of Mokgetsu's Thoughtless Slash, Shikaku had experienced the defenses of the Three-tails on site; the power of Mokgetsu's strike reminded him of the Third Raikage's Strongest Spear.
"So this is the ultimate in the Lightning Release Blade Technique." Kakashi showed a hint of yearning.
The slash Mokgetsu just performed would be Kakashi's pursuit for the next decade. If he could wield such a strike, he could rely on his own strength to protect his comrades even against the Candidate for the Raikage.
"As expected of Teacher Mokgetsu, truly youthful!" Might Guy exited the Breath of Rock Chakra Mode and the Eight Gates, giving Mokgetsu a thumbs-up.
In his heart, Mokgetsu had achieved true victory.
"It's finally over, is everyone okay?" Nohara Rin breathed a sigh of relief.
This level of battle was her first experience, and she was quite tense throughout.
"I'm fine, little Rin, are you hurt?" Obito immediately responded and stepped forward with concern.
"Mokgetsu-kun, you always manage to surprise people." Orochimaru's eyes flickered, very pleased with Mokgetsu's performance.
With the potential Mokgetsu had shown, even if Mokgetsu wasn't fond of his human experimentation, Orochimaru had to find a way to bring Mokgetsu over to his side. Having a subordinate like Mokgetsu would be incredibly convenient and efficient.
Even though Orochimaru could still handle the Three-tails without Mokgetsu, it would ultimately be more troublesome and could potentially lead to more Konoha Ninjas dying at the hands of the Three-tails.
"He's only twenty now and has a vast room for growth." This was what Orochimaru valued most about Mokgetsu.
Currently, Mokgetsu may not match him in overall strength, but Mokgetsu was too young, and at the same age, Orochimaru had no confidence in defeating Mokgetsu.
If Mokgetsu could stand by his side, it would be worth more than the support of dozens of Jonin.
