The sudden mist caused Voldemort and the group of Death Eaters to lose their target.
Faced with the mist that almost enveloped the entire mountainside, Voldemort was momentarily stunned; he couldn't locate Kael, and casting spells recklessly might cause the Death Eaters to suffer.
Of course, Voldemort wasn't worried about them, but since he had just been resurrected, there were many things to do. He couldn't possibly do everything himself, and he didn't want to waste time on those trivial matters.
Thus, the Death Eaters were still useful for the time being; dying here would be too uneconomical. Otherwise, their inaction over the past decade would have been enough for them to die ten times over.
Voldemort raised his wand, trying to dispel the mist here, but with little effect.
In the howling gale, the mist did thin slightly, but dissipating it completely would take some time.
During this time, Voldemort felt he should do something to prevent his prey from escaping.
"Nagini!" he said coldly.
A giant snake, at least twelve feet long, appeared at Voldemort's feet. Moving quickly, it seemed completely unaffected by the mist.
"Go find that boy," Voldemort's scarlet eyes flickered in the mist. "You can smell him, go quickly, don't let him escape!"
The snake immediately slithered off in one direction.
Voldemort continued with his magic.
The wind at the mountaintop grew fiercer, the branches crackled loudly, and the Death Eaters staggered; in order not to be blown away, they had to cling tightly to anything that could anchor them.
Gradually, the mist cleared.
Voldemort immediately turned his head, looking in the direction Nagini had left.
He saw Kael, but contrary to his expectations, the boy showed no sign of terror; instead, he smiled as he helped Harry up from the ground.
A Niffler was trying to stuff Harry's glasses into the pocket on its belly.
And the snake named Nagini lay motionless on the ground.
All of this was due to a person who should not have appeared here, and whom Voldemort could never forget.
Albus Dumbledore.
He stood there, his gaze calm and unflustered.
Voldemort raised his wand, a green light flew towards Dumbledore.
Since Kael and Harry were right behind him, Dumbledore did not dodge but also cast an orange light.
The two spells collided in mid-air with a violent explosion.
Then Dumbledore waved his wand, and the surrounding trees came to life; they pulled their roots out of the soil, using their thick branches as weapons, aiming at the surrounding Death Eaters.
The Death Eaters screamed spells, but these, which could originally shatter rocks and ground, merely grazed the tree trunks, having no effect at all.
On the contrary, one Death Eater, who ran too slowly, got a hole poked in his leg by a branch, causing him to howl in pain.
Then, the ground where Kael was suddenly turned into a steep slope, and Kael and Harry slid out of the battlefield as if on a slide.
In the last second before they descended, Kael quickly grabbed Nagini's tail, dragging it along with them.
"No, stop!"
Kael clearly heard Voldemort's sharp roar, but he didn't care and continued to hold onto the snake's tail.
With Dumbledore present, even if he snatched the snake in front of him, what could Voldemort do to him?
Sure enough, Voldemort, who was about to chase after them, was forced back by a series of powerful spells in the next second.
"Move aside, Dumbledore!"
"You know that's impossible, Tom," Dumbledore said calmly. "Your resurrection ends here!"
"So you want my life, Dumbledore... can you really do something so cruel?"
Kael couldn't hear the rest.
He and Harry slid down the steep slope Dumbledore conjured and stopped after a long descent.
The way down was full of rocks; Harry felt intense pain all over his body, not knowing where to hold, and could only lie on the ground groaning.
Kael, having climbed onto Nagini early on, had a thick "cushion" underneath and was perfectly fine.
He rolled over, got up, opened a box on the ground, and began stuffing the snake's tail into it.
Halfway through, a hand suddenly touched his arm.
Startled, Kael turned to see it was Harry.
"What are you doing?"
"Is that Kael? Sorry..." Harry reached out, groping for something, "I can't see very well. Did you see my glasses nearby?"
Kael glanced at the Niffler on his shoulder, and the little creature quickly covered its pocket.
"No," Kael shook his head, saying calmly, "It probably fell somewhere along the way."
Without the Niffler, Kael couldn't have found Harry in the mist, and Dumbledore wouldn't have saved them both at once.
So technically, the Niffler saved Harry's life; taking his glasses as a reward seemed fair.
Moreover, some things were better left unseen by Harry; his current state was just right.
Kael hastened to stuff the snake.
Harry squinted his eyes, only vaguely seeing a figure holding something looking like wood; beyond that, he couldn't see anything.
"What are you doing?"
"Oh, nothing, just moving some things," Kael said.
After stuffing Nagini completely into the box, he closed it and stood up.
They were now near the village at the foot of the mountain, unable to see what was happening above, but occasionally noticing flashes of different colored lights in the sky.
"I think I heard Professor Dumbledore's voice just now." Harry struggled to stand up.
Realizing their situation, he quickly said anxiously, "Kael, you must quickly tell Professor Dumbledore, Voldemort... Voldemort has been resurrected.
"Someone used a hand, a bone... and my blood, put them in a pot, and boiled it; Voldemort was in it too, and then he was resurrected... We need to quickly inform Dumbledore."
Kael blinked.
He felt Harry's description was somehow familiar... Oh, right, it's like when Hagrid makes a stew... putting various claws, bones in a pot, and finally adding a main dish.
Could it be that Voldemort learned this method from Hagrid?
Kael shook his head, trying to dismiss this absurd thought and image.
"I'm not joking."
Seeing Kael not responding, Harry said anxiously, "Voldemort really has been resurrected; we must quickly inform Professor Dumbledore of this..."
"Relax, Harry, of course, I believe you," Kael said, "Remember? I saw him too, and Professor Dumbledore already knows.
"In fact, he's already up there battling Voldemort now, and he was the one who sent us down."
"So that really was Professor Dumbledore just now?" Harry murmured.
"Of course, or do you think we could chat for this long?"
"That's good... that's good..." Harry seemed relieved, his legs gave way, and he sat back on the ground.
