Chapter 581 - Chapter 579: Four-Point Spell of the Department of Mysteries

Kael, while thinking, followed Professor McGonagall and the others through the silent hall, and soon they arrived at the Hospital Wing.

Filch was placed on the innermost bed, and Mrs Norris immediately jumped up there, while lying beside him was Viktor Krum.

"Professor, why is Krum here too?" Harry asked curiously, having neither watched the match nor aware of what had happened.

"He collided with the Three-Headed Dog." Professor McGonagall said softly, "If he hadn't fired a red signal into the sky in time, he might have been more than just unconscious.

"I've said before, having Eight-eyed Giant Spiders and Manticores in the maze is enough, there was no need to bring in a Three-Headed Dog."

Just then, Madam Pomfrey, who had just approached, twitched at the corners of her mouth. Each time Professor McGonagall mentioned the name of a Fantastic Beast, it tugged at her nerves.

Although Madam Pomfrey knew this was the Triwizard Tournament, and danger was to be expected, it didn't mean she could accept it calmly.

In fact, since the first task began, her complaints about Dumbledore hadn't stopped.

"I really hope they won't hold such activities again... at least not at Hogwarts," Madam Pomfrey muttered as she approached, "Those dangerous things shouldn't be at school at all."

"Quite right."

Professor McGonagall nodded in deep agreement, "But don't worry, the Triwizard Tournament is held only once every five years, and it rotates between three schools. The next time it's Hogwarts' turn will be fifteen years from now...

"If they don't cancel the tournament by then." Professor McGonagall added.

The Triwizard Cup being turned into a Portkey and taking the Champions out of the arena was a major incident, not to mention the resurgence of Voldemort... it's hard to say if the tournament will be canceled again.

But Kael wasn't interested in that; after all, he had already won once, so it didn't matter to him whether it was canceled or not.

Harry felt the same; he was already in his fourth year and wouldn't be eligible for the next competition.

"Here, this is for you."

Madam Pomfrey walked over to Harry and handed him a bottle of purple potion.

"You need to drink it all," she said, "This potion will let you have a comfortable, deep sleep."

Harry took the bottle and drank a few sips.

The potion worked excellently, and he immediately fell into a drowsy state, groping his way to the nearest bed and lying down to sleep.

"And now, this is yours."

Madam Pomfrey took out an identical bottle and turned to Kael.

"Thank you." Kael put the bottle in his pocket, intending to drink it later back in his dormitory.

Madam Pomfrey gave Kael a once-over, seeing him looking unharmed, so she didn't say more.

At that moment, the Hospital Wing's door was pushed open again, and Chris and Diana walked in one after the other.

"Go on," Professor McGonagall said, "I think they have a lot to say to you, but clearly this isn't the best place for a chat."

Kael nodded and left the Hospital Wing.

The three of them walked into the courtyard outside.

"What happened exactly," Chris asked impatiently, "Why did you suddenly disappear when you touched the Triwizard Cup? I remember there was nothing about that in the rules."

"It was Karkaroff, he switched the trophy with a Portkey," Kael said.

Then he roughly recounted what had happened on the mountain.

Upon hearing the news of Voldemort's resurrection, Chris shuddered.

"Is this real?" he couldn't help but ask.

"Professor Dumbledore saw it too, and now he's discussing it with Minister Fudge," Kael said.

Unexpectedly, the two quickly accepted the news.

"No wonder Karkaroff insisted on putting the trophy in the maze." Chris said quietly, "So this was his plan."

"How are you?" Diana grabbed Kael and checked him over carefully.

"I'm fine, Mom," Kael said, "I used the Phoenix Feather, and Professor Dumbledore arrived. He immediately pushed Harry and me out of the battle.

"And besides, I have this..." He opened his hand to reveal a ring.

Only then did Diana breathe a sigh of relief. She had momentarily forgotten about this upon hearing Voldemort's name.

The magic on the ring allowed Kael to perform Disillusionment at any time. As long as he wasn't in a special place like Hogwarts, he could escape instantly.

"How could you not know the trophy was swapped? What were the judges doing?" Diana directed her anger at Chris, "And Dumbledore, letting Death Eaters take someone right under his nose... how did his vigilance become so low?"

Chris knew he was at fault and didn't argue.

If he had known in advance that such a thing would happen, he surely wouldn't have let Karkaroff touch the trophy, but the problem was no one expected this.

Hence, when facing his wife's fury, he could only bow his head silently.

Kael also remained silent.

He instinctively knew that if he spoke up for Chris now, he would surely get scolded too, so it was best to stay quiet until Diana's wrath wasn't directed at him.

Thankfully, a few minutes later, an owl suddenly flew through the dark night sky and landed in front of Diana.

Unlike other owls, its eyes were blue, and there was no message attached to its claws.

Upon seeing Diana, its beak opened and closed as if trying to say something.

But oddly, Kael couldn't hear any sound at all.

"This is a mission owl from the Department of Mysteries," Chris explained in a low voice, "Only Unspeakables can hear them."

Kael nodded.

The owl closed its beak and flew back into the night sky.

Diana looked somewhat agitated.

"I have to go back; we'll talk about your issues later." Diana first glared at Chris, then looked at Kael.

"And you too, no matter what you've discovered or what thoughts you have, before the holidays, you should stay in the castle and not go anywhere, otherwise..."

Diana squinted her eyes, and Kael felt the surrounding temperature drop significantly, quickly nodding, saying:

"Don't worry, I'll stay at school and won't go anywhere."

"Good," Diana said, her expression softening, "Now is different from before, be careful in everything..."

She stepped forward and gently kissed Kael's forehead.

However, just as Kael was about to say something else, he noticed Diana's expression changed again.

"Tell me honestly!" she said sternly, "Did you kill a Death Eater on that mountaintop?"

This...

Kael's heart skipped a beat.

To avoid unnecessary trouble, he hadn't mentioned this to anyone, not even Harry, whom he had specifically reminded upon returning.

Harry knew the seriousness of the matter, so he selectively ignored it when talking to Dumbledore or Sirius, only saying that Kael drove the Death Eaters back with fire.

But how did Diana know... Moreover, her tone wasn't of suspicion, but certainty.

"Quick, is it true?" Diana asked again.

"Yes..." Seeing he couldn't hide it, Kael had to whisper, "But it's not my fault, it was he who ran too fast. Besides, I was just defending myself. The Aurors shouldn't trouble me, right..."

"If it really was a Death Eater, then it's alright." Diana waved her hand, interrupting Kael.

She frowned and pondered for a moment, then glared at Chris again, biting her teeth, "Look at what mess you've made!"

"I..." Chris opened his mouth but ended up sighing quietly.

Truth be told, he didn't expect this either, and he certainly didn't want Kael to get involved in such matters too early either.

Even if they had to face a repeat of the war from more than ten years ago, confronting Voldemort and the Death Eaters, it shouldn't involve Kael, who hadn't even graduated yet.

"Forget it, we'll discuss this matter later." Diana looked at the time, "I really must go now; remember, no matter what happens, you can't leave Hogwarts before the holidays."

She reminded Kael once more, and then in the blink of an eye, she disappeared from the spot.

Kael froze for a moment, instinctively said, "Has the restriction on Disillusionment at school been lifted?"

"No, that wasn't Disillusionment," Chris shook his head, "it's a kind of special Four-Point Spell that allows Unspeakables to instantly return to the Department of Mysteries, but it's very limited and can only be used when they receive a mission owl."
