Chapter 582 - Chapter 580: Cornelius Fudge

Originally, Chris was also planning to return to the Ministry of Magic after the Triwizard Tournament, as one of the judges, he still had quite a bit of wrap-up work to complete... like sending the Fantastic Beasts back to where they came from in the maze.

The part provided by Hagrid was easy to handle, just put them back in the Forbidden Forest, but many Fantastic Beasts were provided by Newt, and Chris needed to send them back.

However, after the events just now, he suddenly changed his mind and decided to find Dumbledore before leaving Hogwarts.

"I think you better wait a bit longer or choose another time," Kael reminded: "Minister Fudge is also in the Headmaster's Office, the atmosphere there probably isn't very good."

"It's okay, I can wait," Chris said, looking gravely in the direction of the castle.

As a member of the Ministry of Magic, he certainly knew what kind of character Fudge had, and he knew full well that Fudge absolutely didn't want to believe the news of Voldemort's resurrection.

Therefore, the conversation between Dumbledore and him could hardly be pleasant.

"They're in the Headmaster's Office, are you going directly?" Kael asked, "Or do you want to wait a while, we could go to the Hufflepuff Common Room and grab something to eat, I'm a bit hungry."

"No, there's no need for that." Chris stared at the corner where faintly chaotic footsteps could be heard.

"Evidence, Dumbledore, you can't fool me with a piece of memory whose authenticity is unknown!"

Fudge's voice came, somewhat agitated, "Or are you willing to take those children's nonsense seriously? Don't be ridiculous."

Then came Dumbledore's voice.

"I've said many times, Cornelius, I was there, you can have Aurors examine my memory anytime."

"Memories can be falsified... especially by a wizard like you."

"I can guarantee it absolutely won't," Dumbledore said, "Listen to me, Cornelius, it's not too late, we must act immediately, send envoys to the giants... to avoid them standing on Voldemort's side again."

"Send envoys to the giants!" Fudge screamed, "What nonsense is that? People hate giants deeply, Dumbledore… if the Magic Realm finds out I'm dealing with giants… I won't be able to continue as Minister!"

"Cornelius, you're too enamored with your position, it's clouding your judgment..."

"Absurd, you must be insane, all because of two kids' nonsense..."

People grew closer, soon Fudge noticed them.

"Oh, Chris." He hurriedly changed the subject, "Have you seen Kael? I have a few questions for him."

"What?" Chris turned instinctively but found he was the only one left, not knowing when that happened.

Kael didn't want to deal with Fudge; their earlier conversation made that clear, saying anything now would be useless.

If Fudge didn't even trust Dumbledore's memory, he certainly wouldn't change his mind because of a few words from me, this needs another approach.

Before that, he didn't want to argue too much with Fudge, nor find himself in an unpleasant situation.

Though he didn't know the Department of Mysteries' Four-Point Spell, thankfully it was late at night, and the Disillusionment Charm worked well.

At least Fudge didn't find his position.

"No, he probably went back to the castle." Chris guessed Kael's thoughts, speaking calmly.

"Then let's head to the Hospital Wing," Dumbledore said, "Harry is there too, he can testify as well."

"Ha... testify?" Fudge laughed sharply, "Crazy, all crazy... I want to see what absurdities you can come up with."

Dumbledore turned his head, stopping his gaze on Kael under the Disillusionment Charm, and then said:

"You should come too, Chris, if you're not in a hurry to go back."

"Alright." Chris nodded, following along.

The group quickly crossed the courtyard and disappeared around the staircase corner to the Hospital Wing.

Meanwhile, Kael undid the Disillusionment Charm, unable to help rubbing his forehead.

Dumbledore was too anxious, facing Fudge head-on would only backfire more.

Perhaps such a method worked before, but the current Fudge no longer needed to use Dumbledore's reputation to hold sway.

Without Crouch's threat, Fudge had just tasted the sweetness of wielding power alone, opposing him at this time wasn't wise.

But there's no choice, regardless of whether Fudge is willing to believe or not, this must be said, and it can only be said by Dumbledore.

If it was someone else, Fudge likely wouldn't even listen... no matter who it was.

Just, Harry might have to suffer a bit, just fallen asleep and would need to be woken up.

Kael sighed and headed towards the castle.

Upon returning to the castle, he encountered Mrs. Weasley, Bill, and Charlie, who were anxious.

"Kael, glad you're okay." Mrs. Weasley hurried over, "Where's Harry, have you seen him?"

"Harry is in the Hospital Wing," Kael said, noticing Mrs. Weasley's face turn white instantly, he quickly explained: "He just drank Dreamless Sleep Potion, fell asleep there."

"That's good, that's good." Mrs. Weasley said with relief.

"Hermione said Harry went missing." Charlie walked up and whispered, "Then we went to find Professor Dumbledore, and met Sirius, he told us everything."

"So is it all true?" Bill's face was heavy, "You-Know-Who, has really resurrected?"

"Absolutely true..." Kael said, "I saw it, Harry and Professor Dumbledore also saw it."

"Oh..." Bill gasped.

Mrs. Weasley, gripping Kael's hand, trembled sharply.

"I suggest you go see Harry later." Kael said, "The Headmaster and Fudge went there just now, how about going to the Hufflepuff Common Room for a while, we could grab something to eat, I'm really a bit hungry."

"No, we're going to help him." Mrs. Weasley said, face pale, "I know what kind of person Fudge is, he won't believe this, nor Harry. At least with me there, Harry won't have to suffer so much.

"Bill, go inform your father, Dumbledore might need our help."

"Okay, mom."

Mrs. Weasley quickly headed towards the Hospital Wing, Bill and Charlie turned to the Owl Shed. In the blink of an eye, Kael was alone again.

Alright... there shouldn't be anyone left now.

Kael shrugged and finally returned to the Hufflepuff Common Room.

The Common Room was lit brightly, the table filled with lots of cakes and delicious snacks.

As a Hufflepuff tradition, Kael had won the Triwizard Tournament championship, no one could miss a celebration.

Just that he returned too late, there weren't many people left in the Common Room, and most had already gone to bed, it wasn't suitable for celebrations.

Still, everyone congratulated Kael and agreed to let him hold a celebration party tomorrow, which Kael accepted.

He walked to the table, picked up a sandwich, and took a big bite.

"What happened, why did you return so late?" Conna handed him a glass of lemonade.

"Major, major event." Kael drank a few sips of lemonade, its sour taste waking him up somewhat.

"Hasn't the Triwizard Tournament ended? What major event could there be?" Cedric asked in confusion.

"It can't be explained in one or two words." Kael glanced at the few remaining people in the Common Room, "Follow me."

He brought Conna and Cedric to a table in the far corner.

"Maybe you won't believe it, but I have to say... Voldemort has resurrected."

"Bang!"

The Butter Beer in Cedric's hand fell to the ground.

"Ha, that's not a funny joke." He laughed awkwardly, using his wand to clean the spilled Butter Beer,

"You-Know-Who is dead, everyone knows that."

"I also wish it were just a joke, but it's not." Kael finished the last sip of lemonade. "Soon, Professor Dumbledore will probably tell you this news as well."

Cedric's wand fell from his hand too.

As did Conna, she was almost squeezing the sandwich in her hand into mashed potatoes.

"It's not that I don't believe you, Kael... but how could it be possible?" Cedric stammered, "Harry Potter... the Savior who killed You-Know-Who... he's in Gryffindor..."

"That's why I said resurrected." Kael glanced outside the window, "You don't need to believe it now, just be prepared."
