This person's limbs had already been broken by the cloak. Thrown onto the water-soaked grass, he could only moan painfully, writhing like a worm.
He wore a yellow robe and a yellow pointed hat. At first glance, he looked like a member of the 3K Party, with two holes cut out for eyes. At this moment, he looked at Deathstroke with eyes full of fear.
"Tell me, where is Laughing Bat?"
"Mmm mmm mmm!!!"
The man with the pointed hat made strange noises, while Diana curiously looked at Deathstroke, wondering how before long things were once again related to that crazy Laughing Bat.
Bo Bo pulled out the Magic Sword from his suit pocket and moved closer: "I'm guessing he's a tongueless man. If you have the skill of telepathy, now is the time to use it."
Diana tilted her head to let Su Ming do as he pleased. Su Ming merely shook his head; he had many abilities now, but telepathy was clearly not among them.
The Godslayer turned into a hook and pulled the hood off the other man's head. Since this man was able to drive the Magic Array and summon these monsters here, he must be a Warlock.
"Do you know him?"
Under the moonlight, the pointed-hat man's true face was revealed; he was a slightly aged middle-aged man with strange black lines on his face, like ink spreading beneath his skin.
His expression was filled with terror, as if he had encountered something incomprehensible.
Of course, a Warlock encountering something like the Magic Floating Cloak, all magic rendered ineffective, bound and stripped of mana, would be difficult to comprehend.
But this time, it was Diana and the Gorilla who shook their heads. Bo Bo prided himself on knowing over 99% of the Magic Users in the Main World, but this seemed to be the remaining 1%.
Diana could only confirm that the man was no God; she couldn't say much else.
Su Ming clicked his tongue regretfully and shook his head: "Seems like a useless person. Relying on him to write is hopeless. I really didn't want to use such bloody methods..."
Before seeing what bloody methods Su Ming planned to use, the middle-aged man's eyes rolled back, and he spat out a mouthful of black liquid before convulsing and going still.
Bo Bo sheathed the Treasure Sword emitting Black Light and tapped his forehead under his hat: "He committed suicide."
Su Ming also put away the Godslayer and patted the mud off his knee: "Facing me, death is not the end."
Black tentacles emerged from behind him, forming the appearance of a black snake. The tip of the tentacle bore a large mouth lined with sharp teeth and swallowed the corpse's head in one gulp.
The sound of bones crunching followed, making the night in the forest all the more eerie.
Diana's expression remained unchanged; she was still waiting for Deathstroke's answer. As for whether this method was bloody, she didn't care. For justice, even if the world crumbled.
Bo Bo simply bowed his head to smoke, pretending not to see.
Soon, Su Ming shrugged and spread his hands regretfully: "The lowest of the low. This man knows nothing, and he's from Earth -22."
"Laughing's own Earth? I thought..." Diana furrowed her brow, put away her Shield and Weapons, and picked up the Little Fortune Ape from the ground.
The gorilla's legs were too short; it would be bad if he fell into one of the muddy pits everywhere.
Su Ming conjured a series of Fireballs to destroy the monsters and headless corpse, motioning Diana to fly with him as he explained in the air:
"I had also thought Laughing Bat's world was destroyed by Barbatos, but it's clearly not that simple now. Of course, this man might have been under some kind of hypnosis or psychological suggestion, Laughing intending to mislead our side's Psychics."
Earth 22 is the world where the story "Heaven's Descent" takes place, a future society. Earth -22, however, is Laughing Bat's homeland, where he killed every Hero.
Yet, since he can breed Robin Hounds, it shows not everyone on that planet is dead; maybe some surrendered and serve him in exchange for survival.
Indeed, even facing Barbatos, Laughing left himself an escape route, deceiving even the Dark God.
And Su Ming's only problem now is if the middle-aged man was Laughing's subordinate, then he....
Why didn't he laugh?
"Very likely." Bo Bo was held by Diana and pressed his hat firmly: "If we mistakenly believe Earth -22 still exists and venture into the Dark Multiverse, we might fall into Laughing's trap."
"Insufficient intelligence; let's put it aside for now." Su Ming calmly replied, the sound of wind whistling past his ears, as if the city had sunk into the deepest slumber: "We'll go find Oliver first, then return to the temporary base."
"Temporary base?" Diana asked.
"Hmm, the place where you and Hawk Woman fought last time." Su Ming replied.
Diana opened her mouth, pondering whether the place was truly safe, but she remembered Deathstroke never does anything pointless, so she held her tongue.
"Oh, there's another thing." Su Ming stopped mid-air.
Seeing him seemingly serious, Diana curbed her conjectures and, with a similarly serious expression, asked: "What is it?"
"You fly in front, I don't know where Queen Mansion is in the Main World...." Su Ming zoomed behind Diana and nudged her back, indicating she should lead the way: "I'm really not very familiar with Green Arrow; there's nothing to be done about it."
Diana and Bo Bo wobbled slightly in the air; for something like this?
Su Ming urged Diana to lead the way and stop looking at him.
He's not a God, he's been in the Main World for three or was it four days? Even with extraordinary intelligence, he's always been too busy to concern himself with Green Arrow.
Is it not normal to not know where Queen Mansion is?
"If something happened in the city, Green Arrow certainly wouldn't be in his mansion's big bed right now. Perhaps we should check his base first, and if he's not there, go to Queen Mansion?"
Diana suggested.
Su Ming shook his head, letting out a regretful sound: "If it were before, Oliver would definitely be busy with what a Vigilante should do. But reconsidering his hardships, Barbatos's invasion, Oliver spent a month in the sewers with the Teen Titans, only eating rats and other sewer creatures, achieving nothing."
Bo Bo continued to elaborate since Otherworldly Deathstroke wasn't present during the Omega Four Gods' invasion; he knew what had transpired:
"Then the four Giant Statues arrived. Brainiac kidnapped the Justice League attempting to save the Kro Planet, inadvertently overlooking Green Arrow. He was forced to seek out Amanda Waller but was instead captured by that black fat woman with the Suicide Squad, and only after the battle was he exchanged by Batman from Minotaur Prison...."
"Yes, later when the water flooded the Earth, I heard he dispatched his purchased nuclear submarine, but still couldn't make much of a difference, saving maybe a dozen people? That's all, it seems." Su Ming continued, sighing.
Diana also showed a helpless expression, infected by it, sighed as well: "Alright, hearing that just feels tiring; he must be at home now."
Bo Bo showed a sympathetic smile: "If I were him, I'd stuff myself with sleeping pills, then drink several bottles of strong alcohol, lay in bed contemplating where I went wrong."
Su Ming flew to Diana's side, looking at the distant dark horizon and feeling the wind flow through the gaps in his Armor: "It's not him who's wrong; it's the world."
Bo Bo squinted: "Who's the world?"
Su Ming looked approvingly at the gorilla, patted him on the shoulder. The Little Fortune Ape already learned to crack dark jokes; truly a perfect assistant.
