"So where are we going to get lead and how are we going to remove the reactor? Now that I think about it, why do we have to remove it? Why can't we just blow it up and leave this place?"
"If we blow it up then we can kiss everything in a hundred miles goodbye and if we dump water mixed with lead paint, we could cool it and also get rid of some of the radiation. But then we should also be aware of what would happen if this doesn't go right."
"And that is?"
Burino looked at an employee who was working on cleaning out a glass at the bar. The employee looked up from the glass to meet the young man's gaze.
"One soda please!"
Burino got out of the pool to retrieve the soda. Javier tried to head after him but like a ghost, he was gone and had already taken up his soda. He had a sweet tooth to satisfy and a reputation to uphold. Of course, he needed an extra bit of time to plan and get materials from their not so generous backers, Mr. Sun and Mrs. Moon.
"You need how many gallons of lead paint?"
"Ten thousand, at least. If you can, we also need some flood lights and tuxedos."
World of Bayou wasn't actually a research center or even for that matter, even open to the public. To the public's knowledge, they had been gone for thirteen years and were abandoned.
