Rhode (with one hand on his chest and the other pointing diagonally to the sky, gazing deeply at Mirajane): "I swear to the moon in the night sky, I'm willing to give all my love to you, because my love for you is infinite, just like the moon!"
Mirajane (holding her heart with both hands, eyes slightly closed, speaking while opening her eyes, gazing deeply into Rhode's eyes, reaching out towards the window): "No, don't swear by the moon, it's ever-changing. If you truly love me, then please tell me sincerely, please take me away!"
Rhode and Mira, upon seeing each other, recited their complex and cheesy lines according to the script.
Mira seemed to enjoy it, while Rhode wondered what kind of novels and dramas these two girls often read, to write something with the flair of great writers.
However, with Rhode's literary taste, it was really hard to appreciate.
Fortunately, all the rhetorical flourishes were confessions of love to Mira, otherwise he wouldn't bother memorizing such lines.
The two playwrights, however, were quite pleased with themselves, moved deeply by their own script, with their faces flushed with excitement and shyness.
Because of this, they relaxed their control over Erza.
But no big deal, because Erza, who was full of fighting spirit just a moment ago, was now overwhelmed by all the romantic words, her brain practically in overload.
Wendy and Jubia were similarly ensnared, one purely out of shyness, the other dreaming about Gray saying such words to her, her happiness and shyness reaching explosive levels.
Lisana quietly rested her face in her hands, watching her sister and brother-in-law perform. She had missed the confession and proposal before, and now it felt like she was making up for a bit of regret.
Elfman was much more composed, even a bit impatient, just wanting to skip past the drama and get to the action.
Ibarglin was originally indulging in a bit of beautiful fantasy, but upon glancing at a certain someone, found it really hard to imagine such a scene.
Kildas wasn't interested in any of this, yawning as he listened, but he did perk up upon noticing how nice his daughter looked in a dress.
Yet, he quickly worried about whether Kana might be swindled by scoundrels like himself.
Loki only felt a chill down his back, silently hugging the two new girlfriends he'd just made today and stepping back, to ensure he wasn't in Blue Pegasus's line of sight.
Under Kildas's gaze, Kana relaxed considerably. No matter how dignified her attire, it couldn't change her boisterous nature as she continued to down drinks and mockingly said to Lucy and Reby: "Only girls who've never been in love would come up with such cheesy lines."
Lucy and Reby vehemently denied it, but they were guilty, weakly pointing to the audience, saying it was moving.
Indeed, among the audience, some sentimental individuals were touched, with the more dramatic ones even secretly wiping their tears.
"Rhode~"
"Mirajane~"
With their final heartfelt calls, the ground lightly shook, and behind the small building, a giant purple spider stood up.
It waved its spider legs, wrapping around the small building, as if with one mouthful it could swallow all the bridesmaids.
— Upon closer inspection, one would find that despite its fierce appearance, each movement was extremely gentle, afraid of accidentally tearing down the house.
Without a doubt, this gigantic being called the Throat of Dishonor was the legendary King of Magical Beasts.
Its raspy roar brought a foul wind, blowing the bridesmaids' skirts and long hair, and awakened the wild creatures sleeping in the yard.
They howled towards the sky, charging at the groomsmen... at the Poro King beneath their feet.
Hapi and Carla 'were shocked', yelling in unison: "If the 'wedding car' is wrecked, the bride won't be able to leave!"
The band changed the tune, and in the tense and exhilarating music, the groomsmen jumped down to meet their opponents.
Elfman transformed into a Beast King, wrestling with the Void Engraved Golem.
Laxus's muscles bulged, directly bursting through his shirt, trading blows with the Void Marked Tree Monster, both equally matched.
Fried was mesmerized by Laxus's robust physique for a full ten seconds before reluctantly pretending to fight a ghost.
Gray, for the umpteenth time today, stripped off his shirt, conjured an Ice Sword, and began fighting with a small Golem.
The others each sought out opponents, using spectacular but weak magic to set the atmosphere.
Only Natsu and Gajeel, the two simpletons, got serious mid-fight, trash-talking each other while swiftly defeating their foes.
Lucy, on the rooftop, was anxious: "That idiot Natsu! According to the script, that wolf is Gray's!"
Reby was equally troubled: "Gajeel took Biguslo's opponent!"
"Ah, that ghost should be handled by the Transcender Squad..." The two were alarmed but helpless.
Initially, Rhode didn't see the problem, as long as the fight looked good. However, those two fools had forgotten it was a performance, fighting too 'realistically'.
He had to do something to mend the situation.
Rhode raised his sword and charged out, swinging it, scattering golden light across the courtyard, nearly piercing through the clouds in the sky, then a small Golem vanished.
Another stab issued, flames flying and hot waves rolling, melting the fine snowflakes still floating in mid-air, then a small ghost disappeared.
Sometimes he'd pause to chant profound spells, stirring the clouds above, wiping out two or three Shadow Wolves in one breath.
He showcased various flashy moves, accompanied by all sorts of lights, successfully enhancing the battle's 'spectacular' factor.
Mira, disregarding professionalism, delightfully watched Rhode perform for her: this pose is so cool, this one too…
Lucy and Reby nervously watched the audience's reaction, discovering that the effect seemed pretty good.
After a grueling battle, everyone finally exterminated the magical beast horde and leaped back onto the building to confront the purple Big Spider.
After a round of flashy magical attacks, the Big Spider remained unscathed and started to counterattack.
Lucy and Reby breathed a sigh of relief, feeling that finally, they were back on script.
But as Gray and his companions were 'blown away', Jubia suddenly erupted: "Lord Gray! Damn monster, how dare you…"
— She had just witnessed Gray fighting bravely against various monsters to save her, so engrossed she fell into a beautiful fantasy.
Yet the monster dared to render her heroic Lord Gray…
"How dare you stop Lord Gray from rescuing Jubia!" Jubia leapt up, and the bridesmaids paused, reaching out to stop her.
However, they failed to notice that besides Jubia, there was another deep into the act.
Erza raised a sword, reciting her self-made lines in an exaggerated tone:
"Destroy... destroy... the monster that disrupts the wedding, unforgivable! I... I... must defeat the bride... no no no... must defeat you to become the bride!"
