As for Doctor Doom—Victor—there were countless stories and an immense backstory.
This man had appeared across multiple independent universes: the Fantastic Four, X-Men, Avengers, even Batman crossovers.
Victor Von Doom was Marvel Comics' quintessential villain: a perfect blend of science and magic, capable of rising again even after being annihilated in hell.
His mother was a Gypsy witch, her soul taken by the demon Mephisto while she sought magical power.
From a young age, Doom vowed to free her, learning magic and mastering science to achieve it.
In Secret Wars 2015, Victor was known as the omnipotent God Emperor Doom: a creator god and supreme ruler of Battleworld.
He easily defeated Black Panther wielding the Infinity Gauntlet, instantly killed Cyclops with a portion of the Phoenix Force, and shredded Thanos and other cosmic heavyweights.
His most impressive feat: extracting fragments from countless universes to form Battleworld.
He even stole the original Beyonder's power.
The Beyonder had lived too long and wanted to die, but even with OAA and the Phoenix Force acting against him, he couldn't.
His solution? Give away his power—then he could finally die.
But right now, Doctor Doom was just an ordinary university graduate… no, an entrepreneurial pioneer.
He and his classmates—the Fantastic Four, his mortal rivals—worked together peacefully.
Though Victor and Reed Richards often clashed over Susan Storm, things were manageable.
Watching Victor leave, Leo admired his ruthlessness.
Doom never admitted defeat, no matter how dire the situation.
That kind of talent, relentless and cunning, was priceless.
Shen Gun De? Too bad.
His old rival's absence meant Shen Gun De couldn't rely on Doom to push him toward greatness.
It was precisely Doom's pressure that forged such power in Shen Gun De.
Satisfied with his thoughts, Leo whistled as he returned to his office, calling Umbrella Corporation to fully support Victor's project.
In this movie Universe, a powerful figure like Doom wasn't going to swoop in and steal Leo's opportunity. The matter was essentially settled.
"Crystal, come rub my shoulders. I'll take care of you personally tonight," Leo said, leaning back like a wealthy tycoon in his chair.
"Hmph, I don't need your personal care," Crystal replied, rolling her eyes.
She knew Leo's shamelessness too well.
With Wanda, Natasha, Android 18, and Jean Grey at home, she had completely seen through his antics.
He always found ridiculous ways to indulge himself, and she secretly wondered what went on in that head of his.
Under Crystal's professional touch, Leo relaxed and eventually fell asleep.
Meanwhile, Victor received a massive cooperation fund from Umbrella's Minister of Energy.
His team would enjoy 40% of future gene development profits, Umbrella 60%—a deal heavily favoring their small team.
Normally, a 30-70 split would already be generous, given the high risks of tech investment.
"Hahaha! We're rich! We're rich!" Victor pumped his fists in the air as he left Umbrella Corporation. The business deal had him uncontrollably excited.
He needed to return quickly and prepare. They had the technology—they only needed money.
With funding, they could capture cosmic storms and mass-produce gene potions for humanity, resulting in unimaginable profits.
Back at their rented office, Victor shared the news with everyone.
"Everyone! We're going to be rich!" he shouted, waking the members of the Fantastic Four.
"Really? Which company is investing?"
"How much money? How much are they giving us?"
"Does this mean our project starts immediately?"
Reed Richards, Susan Storm, Johnny Storm, and Ben Grimm bombarded him with questions, their excitement matching Victor's.
With the funding, they could make billions, and helping humanity was just a side effect.
"Stop! Stop! Listen to me!" Victor raised his hands, calming the chaos.
Finally, they quieted down, eagerly waiting for details.
"Hahaha, brothers, we've secured investment from Umbrella Corporation! Hahaha!" Victor shouted, flushed with excitement.
"How much? How much money??" Johnny, the Human Torch and Steve Rogers' biological younger brother from a different parent, blurted out.
"Calm down! Johnny, be composed like me," Susan Storm, the Invisible Woman, scolded, asserting her sisterly authority. "How many billions?"
"Haha, two full billion U.S. dollars!" Victor announced, gesturing wildly and knocking documents off the table.
"What?? Two billion??"
Reed, Ben, and Johnny froze, unable to comprehend the enormity of the fortune.
This was their startup capital; soon, it could become hundreds of billions.
Their enthusiasm exploded. They imagined spending the money on research, then lounging in their office surrounded by mountains of cash.
It was an exciting time—the Fantastic Four were officially in business.
