"Haha! Contentment brings happiness," Susan said softly.
Leo nodded, agreeing completely.
If it weren't for the constant nudging of fate, he wouldn't need to fight, wouldn't need to kill.
The martial world wasn't about bloodshed—it was about human connections and the affairs of life.
"Then… are you happy?" Susan asked, a soft smile playing on her lips.
"Someone like you… you should be able to get whatever happiness you desire. No one could stop you."
Only the weak pray for happiness; the strong seize it themselves.
Leo chuckled. "Happy."
His voice was firm, unhesitating.
"My happiness… it surpasses the imagination of ordinary people. Born in hardship, favored by fate, I've seen worlds and met joys that weren't meant for me."
Ability. Technology. Money. Power.
And the beautiful, virtuous women who had crossed his path.
His words, warm and deep, brought a brief daze to Susan.
He's thinking of his wives, she realized. Only they could soften a man like Leo, whose presence towered like a mountain.
For no reason, she felt a touch of envy.
They didn't have to worry about a thing. Protected by someone so powerful, they could live freely, as they wished.
Susan glanced at herself and the two men beside her.
Reed—Shen Gun De—was a genius, but a boring one. Always lost in his experiments, completely unaware of the world around him.
Victor, on the other hand, was ambitious, flashy, always competing with Reed.
Neither was suitable, she thought. She should pass on both.
"I envy them… for having a husband like you," she murmured.
Leo laughed. "Don't worry. You'll find your own happiness in due time."
"I hope so," she said faintly, a noncommittal smile on her lips. She had little expectation—just patience.
After bidding goodnight, Leo returned to New York.
The next morning, operations began.
Victor and the Fantastic Four watched as the cosmic storm approached. In just half an hour, it would pass through their spaceship.
Everyone was tense, unaware that their lives were about to be restored to their original paths.
Thanks to Leo's funding, their plans would succeed… but Leo had other intentions.
He opened a hidden space channel inside the spaceship. When the cosmic storm struck, the altered genes and powers would reset.
Reed would become Shen Gun De again, Johnny Pyro, Ben the Thing, Susan the Invisible Woman, and Victor his metal-form powers.
"This… is how it should be," Leo muttered, appearing at an unknown point in space.
"Red Queen, let's head back."
"Yes, Master."
Red Queen took over the spaceship and safely returned everyone to Earth.
Upon landing, news of humanity's first successful manned spaceship flight spread across the globe.
It was hailed as a monumental success. But Leo knew the real purpose was complete: the genetic mutations had fully reset.
He ordered them isolated to recover from the temporary stress their bodies endured. Once their systems stabilized, they could awaken naturally.
"Red Queen, notify me before they leave. I want to check on them personally."
"Yes, Master."
Meanwhile, at Kamar-Taj, space suddenly ruptured.
A figure emerged—it was Leo.
A strange, unpleasant sensation had rippled through his consciousness. Someone, somewhere, was locking onto him, trying to cross the Universe.
Kamar-Taj's monks were startled.
"Who are you? How dare you trespass in the sacred land of magic?"
Leo tilted his head. "Wong?"
Wong blinked, shocked.
"Who… how do you know my name?" he stammered.
Just then, the Ancient One appeared.
"Wong, step aside," she commanded.
Wong hesitated, then obeyed, sensing the weight of this visitor.
The Ancient One's eyes regarded Leo curiously.
"Why have you come? Something wrong?" she asked, calm but alert.
"Yes. Something is about to happen," Leo replied, grave.
The Ancient One's calm shifted slightly.
"Someone could make you feel threatened?"
Leo shook his head. "I don't know. Only a deep intuition from within."
Her expression hardened. The intuition of someone like Leo was never wrong. Something was indeed coming.
"You've come for the Time Stone, haven't you?" she asked.
"Yes. I need the Time Stone. Combined with the Space Stone… it will make me invincible."
Leo spoke openly, leaving nothing hidden.
"Very well. Wait here," the Ancient One said. With a wave of her hand, the Eye of Agamotto appeared.
"I suppose I'm breaking centuries of oath," she sighed. "Guarded for generations… yet it is now in your hands."
Leo laughed warmly. "It's fine. After this, I'll send a few disciples to further advance your Sorcerer Supreme lineage."
The timing, he felt, was almost perfect.
