Chapter 683: Sorceress? Fairy?
The Mother Entity's New Form
The Mother Entity had fundamentally changed.
Its massive, sky-blocking body vanished, replaced by a woman less than two meters tall. Through this process, she finally shook off Dom's disintegration divine power, though the cost was immense.
The colossal size previously provided equally colossal power. The current Mother Entity no longer had that suffocating sense of overwhelming power.
"I can't give you an answer to the question of who you are, because you are nothing."
Luke spread his right hand. Endless green flames poured out from his palm, forming a sea of fire behind him.
"That is not the answer I want."
The smile vanished from the woman's face, her eyes radiating coldness. "Human, are you sure you want to fight me?"
"You should ask your son that. If he gives up, I have nothing to say."
The grotesque infant not far away shook its head repeatedly. An instinct from the depths of its bloodline told it that only one of them could survive: either it ate the woman, or the woman ate it.
Luke sneered. "See? Your son doesn't want to let you go."
"And you?"
The woman said gravely, "Why are you fighting me? Do we have a feud?"
"Originally, no. Because of one woman, now we do."
"Which woman?"
"Hanyue. She helped me and treated me as a friend. I feel obligated to do something."
"I see."
The woman seemed to realize something. A glowing aura emanated from her skin. When the light subsided, a woman with black hair, black eyes, and a visage of flawless perfection—like an untouchable celestial fairy—stood before him.
"How about now? Don't you want me very badly? This body is an exact copy."
Luke's expression became utterly grim.
"You are truly tempting fate!"
He made a hand seal. The sea of fire contracted, transforming into a lightning-shrouded thundercloud.
Boom!
A green lightning bolt shot out, striking the woman hard and blasting her thousands of meters away. Before she even hit the ground, a shadow appeared behind her.
Luke turned his palm into a blade, his hand wrapped in a white light-saber, cutting straight toward her head.
Clang!
A soft, fair palm blocked the unstoppable light-saber. The woman gave a slight smile and applied pressure with her fingers. Luke immediately felt a searing, bone-deep pain.
What immense strength!
The woman curled her right hand into a fist and threw a punch. The punch seemed unremarkable, yet it sent a chilling sense of dread deep into Luke's soul. His mind raced. He quickly used his spatial ability to teleport away.
Boom!
Where the punch passed, the air crackled loudly, like a compressed balloon bursting. A distant mountain peak silently vanished, and a ravine stretching dozens of kilometers appeared on the ground. Everything in the path of the punch dissolved into powder.
The power of one punch, to this extent!
Luke's eyelids twitched. The grotesque infant was also terrified, staring blankly below.
"Human, you should ally with me to eliminate that child. I will give you anything you desire, including Hanyue, Aphrodite, and Parvati. I can give you the most exquisite intimacy the world has to offer, something unforgettable."
"Sorry, you're too hard."
Luke drew his bow. A seven-colored arrow streaked across the sky, only to be caught by the woman with one hand. She gave it a slight shake.
Snap!
The arrow broke. Energy surged out, forming a colorful shockwave.
Luke glared at the hostile twin.
"What are you standing around for? Can't you see I'm helping you?"
The twin immediately snapped out of its daze. It wanted to approach but dared not, settling instead for firing energy blasts from afar. Energy cannon after energy cannon struck the woman, like tickles—they had no effect whatsoever.
Her current body could no longer be described as "hard"; it should be described as "incredibly hard."
No attack seemed to leave a mark. She was immune to physical force and elemental attacks. Even the white light-saber of the Pale-Eyed Woman was easily blocked.
"You've hit me enough. Now it's my turn."
The woman arched her body. Two bone membranes protruded from her back. Two pairs of fleshy wings burst through her skin, exposed to the sunlight. With a flap of her wings, she became an incredibly fast stream of light, appearing instantly before the hostile twin.
She threw a punch.
Pfft!
Blood rained down from the sky. The hostile twin's right shoulder was utterly obliterated by the blow.
It shrieked hideously and turned to run. The woman did not pursue. She suddenly spun around and punched the air. The air in front of her exploded violently, like a compressed balloon.
Boom!
The force traveled through layers of space, impacting Luke.
Agonizing pain shot through his body as if his internal organs had been displaced. His body couldn't withstand the force. He was slammed hard into the ground by the shockwave, sliding thousands of meters and shattering a mountain peak before stopping.
Cough, cough, cough!!!!
Luke clutched his chest, coughing painfully.
"What kind of monster is this? She hit me from thousands of meters away with such power!"
"You are simply no match for me."
The woman's eyes were filled with contempt. She raised her right hand toward the sky. A ball of light appeared in her palm, rapidly expanding, growing larger and larger. Seven-colored light flowed around it. The energy contained within was suffocating.
Unconsciously, a second sun appeared in the sky.
Luke's eyes widened. He was completely shocked.
Spirit Bomb?
He had never seen an energy cannon over a kilometer in diameter. If this landed, the ground... no... the entire Underworld would be punched through.
Luke didn't hesitate. He flashed to Diana's side. A spatial barrier enveloped the four of them. Just as he was about to leave, his five senses vanished. Endless light and heat rushed at them from behind like a tsunami. His vision turned white. Excruciating pain shot through his body. Every cell trembled and screamed, warning of death.
Boom!
A pillar of light appeared in the sky above the Underworld. That light pierced the eternal darkness, allowing the beings living in the land of the dead to see a clear night sky they had never seen before.
The Plain of White Bones vanished. All the bones, including the soil, were reduced to nothingness by the shockwave.
The area became a hollowed-out world. At the center of this world stood the woman, still naked as before, unreservedly displaying her full, rounded body.
The difference was that she now held a person: a tattered, broken infant.
"Child, you must return to my belly after all."
"Come, don't resist. You will merge with me and become the ultimate form."
The woman opened her mouth, revealing a maw lined with fangs. She bit down on the infant's head.
Crunch!
The purplish-black head was torn off. She chewed it a couple of times, then frowned slightly.
"Wrong. It's not him."
"Damn it, where are you? Get out here!"
The woman tossed the infant away, staring intensely around her. She suddenly lunged forward, punching the air.
Space and time warped. A strangely-featured infant covered in wounds—the hostile twin—flickered into existence. Seeing the woman, it let out a cry and turned to run like a startled rabbit.
The woman pursued relentlessly. Seeing that it couldn't be shaken off, the grotesque infant had to use its spatial ability. However, no matter how much it teleported, the opponent located its position instantly.
The two chased and dodged, moving at terrifying speeds. The air seemed to be cut apart, emitting whooshing sounds.
