In a faraway land stood a magnificent kingdom, far removed from the lands of vampires and humans. It was well hidden and inaccessible to those who were not invited. The kingdom was enshrouded in powerful illusion barriers, designed especially to keep out greedy humans and other troublesome outsiders.
It was understandable why this kingdom guarded itself so fiercely. After all, their people had been captured by humans more than once and sold among them like commodities. They had learned to protect themselves from humans, cutting all ties with them and extricating themselves from all human dealings. Now they relied only on themselves, growing strong enough to stand toe to toe with those puny humans.
