As I gazed upon the magnificent structure before me—a breathtaking marvel suspended in the heavens—I couldn't help but wonder how anyone could gain entry to the Floating Kingdom. Its ethereal beauty shimmered against the sky, distant yet inviting, as if calling out to those daring enough to seek it.
The air itself felt different here—lighter, charged with something unknown. My heart pounded, caught between awe and anticipation.
Then—
A soft voice pierced the stillness of the forest. "Greetings, adventurers... may I inquire who you are? "Rin and his companions tensed, ready for a fight, when a man appeared, raising his hands in a gesture of surrender." There's no need for violence," he reassured them, his tone calm. With two soldiers flanking him, Rin took a deep breath. "Our plane crashed, and we're searching for a way out of here." The man's face broke into a gentle smile. "You've come to the right place. Follow me." Alex squinted, curiosity piqued. "To where?" The man gestured towards a distant structure. "To the kingdom." As they approached, they marvelled at the intricate lift system that ferried them up to the kingdom, their anticipation mounting. Upon entering, they were greeted by a breathtaking sight: the kingdom was alive with vibrant architecture and bustling with people, a paradise where smiles flourished. It felt like they had stepped into a dream. The man announced, "I am Ronan, the leader of this community. Over 8,000 people live here in harmony, and you are welcome to stay for as long as you like." Rin expressed his gratitude, bowing his head. Yuri, ever practical, asked, "What do we need to do to survive here?"Ronan nodded thoughtfully. "There's no need to do any work; most are already assigned to tasks within the community. All I ask is that you live peacefully. If we need your help, we will reach out." Alex and Shina exchanged shy glances before speaking up. "And where can we clean up and get settled? "Ronan chuckled warmly. "I can tell you've been in the wild for too long. Let me show you where to freshen up. "With that, he led them deeper into the heart of the kingdom, where new adventures awaited.
The man nodded and said, "Sorry, I have work to do, so if you excuse me."
Rin found an unexpected sense of comfort in the quiet surroundings. After their leader departed, he entrusted one of his subordinates with the task of settling them into a spacious haven boasting seven bedrooms. Each member claimed their own room, and following Ronan's guidance, they set about assessing his wounds from a recent abdominal injury. The atmosphere was a blend of tension and camaraderie, creating a unique refuge in the midst of their trials.
After enduring days of discomfort and unkemptness, everyone finally took the opportunity to shower. Rin stepped out, feeling refreshed, only to catch a glimpse of a figure in the mirror that made his heart race. Standing at 5'7", the reflection had striking red eyes and flowing white hair—an almost ethereal appearance that blended handsomeness with an unsettling edge. Though many admired Rin for his talents and good looks at school, those piercing red eyes and stark white locks often sent shivers down the spines of his classmates, leaving them too intimidated to approach him. Only a select few, close friends who recognised the warmth beneath his fierce exterior, dared to engage him. In that moment, as he stood before the mirror, Rin couldn't help but wonder: was he truly the mysterious figure everyone else saw?
