I gripped Viona's hand like a beggar, desperate, pleading for mercy with every last breath.
She—my kind-hearted twin—would never have the heart to let my Raya suffer like that.
Even though yesterday she said in her message there might be an error in the DNA test I brought, told me not to get my hopes up, I knew… she would come.
"Viona… please… help me. No. Help her…" If she told me to kiss and lick her feet, I would do it, as long as Raya could be saved.
She pulled her hand from my grip and avoided my gaze.
"I… I came here because I just wanted to see her. My kids wanted to see where their father works. That's why we were here. Don't read too much into it."
"I don't see the others."
She turned to me with a sharp glare. "The other two are busy. You can ask Mom. I only brought Roey when I visited her."
