Viona's POV
Vivian's eyes glinted with desire, sending a cold prickle down my spine. She had always been sly like that. And I had always given in to her.
Even knowing I might get hurt, I still gave in. That was the version of Viona she believed in.
My chest tightened because no matter what choice I made, I wouldn't be able to save both of them without sacrificing one. That was all I had been thinking about ever since Vivian found out about Roey's strawberry allergy.
Was I still the same fearful Viona from the past? Had I just deluded myself into believing that surviving alone with my children had made me stronger?
"Do you want me to believe that?" I said coldly, a bitter chuckle slipping out after.
"You need to trust me. Before Roman finds out for himself, or even before the Housley does first. It's better to—"
