Viona's POV
"So you told her?" Rafael asked, his low voice steady, like he wasn't angry or disappointed after hearing what happened at the hospital.
I turned to look at him beside me. We were both sitting on the tall stools at the house bar, meant to relax and talk, but the slight frown on his face said otherwise.
My fingers brushed his, the ones still slowly swirling the glass of whiskey.
Two of my fingers hooked around his pinky, squeezing lightly.
"I'm sorry. We agreed to hide it, but I told her." I said.
"You decided to let Roey become the donor?"
"Only if he agrees."
He let out a heavy sigh, then drank his whiskey, making my fingers slip away as my hand was left resting empty on the bar.
"Are you angry?" I asked when he downed the rest of his drink and poured another. The sharp thud of the glass against the table made me uneasy.
His gaze stayed fixed on the glass, dark and burning.
"I'm not pleased. But it's expected. I know how you are."
