The two arrived at the counter of Gringotts, and Vivi handed Bella's wand to the goblin: "The vault of the Lestrange family."
As she spoke, her voice was loud enough that everyone doing business in Gringotts could hear her.
Upon seeing Bellatrix herself, they were all stunned, and the more timid even fell to the ground.
Bellatrix Lestrange was a name known throughout the British Magic World. Apart from Voldemort, she was the second-most infamous Death Eater; even when children cried...
Oh, most of the time, they would invoke Fenrir Greyback's name, but when desperate, they resorted to using Bellatrix's name to scare them.
It worked flawlessly, as children were the harshest judges.
"Alright, ma'am." The goblin verified the wand and handed it back to Vivi: "We shall set off now—"
Vivi took the wand and used a Soul-snatching Curse on the goblin.
The goblin paused and looked at Vivi in confusion.
Vivi said nothing, just nodded quietly.
The goblin understood and kicked a well-hidden red button as they left.
As soon as they boarded the small cart, a blaring alarm echoed through the Gringotts main hall.
Harry knew none of this; he only realized the sound of wind rushing past.
The goblin hesitated several times, really puzzled why Vivi ordered him to press the alarm button.
Was there anyone hoping to be captured?
Oh dear, this is really...
They continued forward and soon arrived at a waterfall.
"This is the Thief-Preventing Waterfall," the goblin said to them. "The water is enchanted to remove all spells and disguises, and it washes away the effects of Polyjuice Potion and Soul-snatching Curse, preventing any intruders from accessing the vault—even you two."
Upon passing through the waterfall, they reverted back to their original appearances as Vivi and Harry.
"How much farther?" Harry asked.
"It's just up ahead," the goblin answered.
As he finished speaking, they rounded a corner and reached the deepest part.
These vaults were possibly the safest in Gringotts, as a giant Fire Dragon was chained here.
Due to prolonged captivity underground, the dragon's scales had grown pale and the eyes were a murky pink. Heavy manacles bound its hind legs, the thick chains attached to colossal stakes buried deep into the stone floor.
Its massive spiked wings folded at its sides; if unfurled, they would fill the entire underground chamber.
The dragon turned its ugly head toward them and roared, shaking the stone walls.
"Its sight has worsened," the goblin panted, "but that makes it even more vicious, though we have a way to control it..."
Before the goblin could finish, the Fire Dragon let out a breath of scorching flames.
Harry lifted his wand, and a thick stream of water sprayed from its tip, not only repelling the flames but also splashing the dragon's face.
The force of the water was strong, sending the dragon's head upon impact.
"Stupefy!"
A thick, crimson Stunning Spell shot from Harry's wand tip, striking the dragon's head.
The creature let out a muffled grunt and collapsed to the ground.
"Perhaps we have a simpler solution, don't we?"
With that, Harry stowed his wand.
The goblin shivered at the wizard who could Stupefy an adult Fire Dragon...
What power...
It's widely known that Magical Creatures possess strong resistance to spells, particularly dragons, whose magic resistance is among the highest in the world.
Being able to easily Stupefy a dragon attests to one's unimaginable magic power.
The goblin retrieved something from inside his coat, slipped it onto his hand, and placed his hand on the door.
The door opened with a thunderous sound, and the vault door vanished, revealing a tunnel.
The tunnel was stuffed from floor to ceiling with gold coins and goblets, silver armor, fur of various strange creatures adorned with spikes or wings, Potions in Treasure Bottles, and a skull still wearing a crown.
"What are you looking for?" The goblin took out an inventory list: "I could tell you what all is inside...but be cautious with..."
Before he could finish, Harry had already picked up the skull.
Suddenly, the skull duplicated into more than twenty, spilling into Harry's embrace.
At the same time, the skull turned scorching hot, nearly burning Harry.
Fortunately, he let go quickly, and the skull clattered to the ground, starting to replicate again.
"They've been enchanted with Duplication Spell and Flame Spell," the goblin added. "Anything you touch will burn and replicate, but replicas are worthless—if you keep touching the treasure, you'll ultimately be buried under gold!"
"Perhaps we could use a spell to neutralize these enchantments?" Harry asked the goblin.
"Perhaps, but I really don't know," the goblin replied honestly.
Harry nodded, then raised Rodolphus's wand and struck it against the ground.
"Finite!"
A brilliant golden light erupted inside the vault, followed by plumes of black smoke rising from the treasures.
The black smoke transformed into a fierce dragon, lunging at Harry.
