The Leme family house wasn't big, after all, considering Nico and Pernelle, the distance from the door to the living room wasn't far.
Thus, the yelling in the living room was impossible for Dumbledore and Snape, who were approaching the door, to miss.
Snape's expression suddenly turned serious; he felt this voice was very familiar, extremely familiar.
Daring to call him like this in Hogwarts, could it be...
He raised his head and saw James Potter with a foot on a chair, passionately speaking.
Almost at first glance, Snape confirmed it was indeed James Potter.
The hatred between them was just too damn deep, even if James was reduced to ashes by Fiery Fire and mixed with dirt, Snape could still sift out James's ashes from that pile bit by bit.
Their grudge wasn't just simple school bullying but also involved the bitterness of a stolen love.
Snape's childhood sweetheart, his lifelong white moonlight, his angel of salvation, was so heartbreakingly taken by James Potter...
Pain!
It hurt too much!
Just thinking about it made Snape feel suffocated.
But...
Even so, Snape didn't immediately seek trouble with James but instead searched the conference room hopefully.
Sure enough, he wasn't disappointed; on the other side of James, he found that figure who he'd longed for day and night.
"Lily?"
He murmured the woman's name.
However, to everyone's surprise, Snape's first reaction wasn't to enter the conference room but to turn around and leave Mr. Leme's little house.
"What's with the Old Snot Spirit?" Little Sirius asked, holding a teapot.
"Maybe it's because his clothes are covered in large oil stains, and he forgot to change them." James's comment was the ultimate mockery of Snape.
Luckily, Snape wasn't present; otherwise, a showdown between Divine Shadowless Blade and Inverted Golden Bell would be inevitable.
At this point, Dumbledore also approached the table in the living room.
"Can anyone tell me what happened while I was away from the school?"
Little Sirius cheerfully recounted what had happened, including Pabi's resurrection and Harry using the Desire Gem in hopes of curing Annie, but instead summoning his parents.
After hearing this, Dumbledore shook his head and marveled, "Magic is truly amazing..."
"Welcome to thirteen years later," Dumbledore observed, then said to James and Lily, "I never thought I could reunite with you both this way..."
"In fact, we saw you yesterday," James said, winking at Dumbledore, "You even advised me to make you our Secret Keeper..."
Dumbledore thought back and quickly realized which day James and Lily had traveled from to thirteen years later.
He hesitated for a moment, then smiled understandingly.
However, James's next question reached deep into the soul.
"But I've been curious—about Harry—who leaked the information?"
"What information?" Dumbledore raised his eyebrows, knowingly asking.
"You know, about Trelawney's prophecy." James's sharp look fixed on Dumbledore, "I don't think Voldemort is omniscient; someone must have leaked it to him... I guess that person was Snot Spirit, right?"
Dumbledore rubbed his fingers and sighed softly, "Yes, you're correct; it was Severus who leaked it..."
James gave a cold smile, confirming his previous suspicions.
Indeed, he had never failed to imagine Snape in the worst possible light.
To him, only someone as sneaky as Snot Spirit would secretly inform.
Harry was somewhat taken aback, having just learned that it was Professor Snape who sold out his parents.
If James and Lily weren't present, he surely would have gone to confront Snape.
But since the people involved were there, Harry could only sit and watch.
"No wonder Professor Snape is always so awkward," Harry remarked knowingly, "This explains everything..."
Little Sirius clapped his knee and adopted the pose of a famous Muggle detective solving a case.
"Yes, on one hand, because you resemble James, he dislikes you—he even hates you; on the other, he feels some guilt, which makes him treat you a bit better... But I personally think that someone like Snot Spirit is incapable of guilt; he has other reasons for being kind to you."
Harry didn't need Little Sirius to say it, he already knew why.
Wasn't it because Snape secretly cherished Lily in his heart, occasionally having a pang of conscience, realizing this child was not just James Potter's son, but also Lily Evans's child?
Indeed, in Snape's heart, he never acknowledged Lily Potter; he only recognized Lily Evans.
But this was destined to remain a thought, after all, Lily had married James—that was an undeniable fact.
Whether one should pity Snape or not, he truly... deserved it.
Simply for calling the girl he loved 'Mudblood', it was clear that being cut off by Lily was entirely self-inflicted.
"Oh," James raised an eyebrow, "I would rather him to be kind to Harry out of guilt, but we all know, creatures like Slime don't have hearts."
