"Konan, that idiot....."
Jiraiya felt the toad get killed and immediately flew into a rage, almost jumping with anger, but after a while he calmed down.
Konoha is overwhelming now, even the Land of Rain is gone, and Konan is still the Angel of the Rain River District, specifically helping Konoha pacify the civilians of the Land of Rain.
Cutting ties with him quickly is a normal reaction.
Jiraiya was just a bit unwilling; after all, he had taught Konan Ninjutsu, he was her teacher.... and now she couldn't even do him the small favor of asking around for some information.
Although quite a few Ninjas of the Sarutobi Race were out on missions, those people were all together with other Konoha Ninjas; rashly contacting them might get him exposed.
Jiraiya said again, with the same unwillingness, "Damn it, it's just passing on a piece of intel...."
"Of course Konan won't pass intel for you. She belongs to me now."
A voice suddenly sounded from behind Jiraiya. Hearing that somewhat familiar voice, Jiraiya's expression froze, then he quickly leapt forward to get away, then turned with an extremely grave look toward the person who had appeared behind him.
The Fifth Generation Hokage, the one who destroyed Mount Myoboku, Uchiha Yoichi.
Seeing Uchiha Yoichi, Jiraiya said in disbelief, "Impossible, I clearly already..."
"The Flying Thunder God mark is essentially a Chakra Seal. Unless you dig a hole in your back, ordinary methods can't remove it at all.... Jiraiya, I actually intended to spare your life, but this path is one you chose yourself...."
"Fire Release: Giant Flame Bomb!"
Jiraiya didn't wait for Uchiha Yoichi to finish before directly unleashing a Fire Release Ninjutsu.
He knew the gap in strength between himself and Uchiha Yoichi was enormous, so from the very start he planned to use it to block Yoichi's line of sight and then escape.
Shadow Clone!
As a Kage Level Ninja, Jiraiya's Sealing and Ninjutsu use were extremely proficient. The instant he released the Giant Flame Bomb he also created a Shadow Clone, planning to use the flames to obstruct vision, have the Shadow Clone substitute for him, while he himself escaped underground with Earth Release.
But just as he finished forming the Earth Release Ninjutsu seals, Jiraiya suddenly felt a chill on his back, a strong sense of danger making his hair stand on end.
Bang!
A whip kick filled with terrifying power slammed into Jiraiya's back. The instant it connected, Jiraiya felt as if a mountain had collapsed onto him; intense pain washed away every thought in his brain.
"Wah!"
A mouthful of blood sprayed out, and then Jiraiya's whole body was sent flying like a launched shell, smashing through more than a dozen trees as thick as several people's arms linked together, before finally crashing to the ground like a pile of mud, limp and powerless.
'He was clearly in front of me, but suddenly appeared behind my back....'
'Is it over? The Tale of Jiraiya the Gallant.....'
Once Jiraiya hit the ground, he could no longer feel pain. Teetering on the edge of death, what surfaced in his mind were scenes from the past decades of his life.
Seeing the things he had done, countless regrets suddenly surfaced in Jiraiya's heart. He shouldn't have done those things. Every time he faced a choice, he seemed to pick the wrong road, and then just kept going further and further down that wrong path.
"This... ending.... really... really sucks...."
Jiraiya's eyes grew unfocused, as if he had just watched his entire life. Then Uchiha Yoichi walked over, placed his hand on Jiraiya's head, and with a tug, directly ripped his Spirit Body out.
"That's the first one...."
After storing away Jiraiya's Spirit Body, Uchiha Yoichi smiled in satisfaction, then cleaned up Jiraiya's corpse.
This guy dying outside the village was the best outcome. If his body were brought back, it would definitely cause more trouble; better to have him permanently missing in the field. That's the proper ending for a drifter.
"I still need two more Spirit Bodies of Kage-level Ninjas before I can seize the Three Pillar Gods' thrones of the Pure Land's High Celestial Plain. Let's go take a look at the Land of Earth."
The High Celestial Plain in the Pure Land had three seats for the Three Pillar Gods. Controlling them meant controlling the Pure Land itself. Otsutsuki Hagoromo definitely didn't know about this, because Yoichi had taken the Yin-Yang Art inheritance early through time travel, and the legacy from Mount Myoboku was half-baked at best.
When that time came, the master of the Pure Land would become Uchiha Yoichi, and the power that had been continuously reborn and circulated through the Ninja World would all become his strength.
Thinking of this, Uchiha Yoichi immediately set out, flying toward the Land of Earth.
With his current power, two Truth-Seeking Orbs would be enough to slaughter the entire Hidden Rock Village, but Uchiha Yoichi planned to leave the Hidden Rock Village and Hidden Cloud Village for the new generation to handle.
Otherwise, with no enemies, the new generation of Ninjas would relax. They might have power, but end up as naïve as Boruto and that lot, turning Ninja missions into playing house.
It didn't take long for Uchiha Yoichi to arrive at the Hidden Rock Village in the Land of Earth, and he quickly locked onto two targets.
Hanzo and Onoki.
Although Onoki was already crippled, his Spirit Body still met the requirements, so Uchiha Yoichi went straight into Onoki's hospital room and drew out his Spirit Body.
Having done this, Uchiha Yoichi hadn't alerted anyone.
Then he went after Hanzo. Hanzo and the Hidden Rain Ninjas had set up a simple outpost outside the Hidden Rock Village, with supplies entirely provided by the Hidden Rock Village. Occasionally the village would hand them some missions too, letting the Hidden Rain Ninjas earn commissions to buy Ninja Tools.
But Hanzo was still timid. Even next to the Hidden Rock Village, he kept two squads of Hidden Rain Ninjas stationed around his residence, terrified that someone might assassinate him.
