This guy dying outside the village was the best outcome. If his body were brought back, it would definitely cause more trouble; better to have him permanently missing in the field. That's the proper ending for a drifter.

The High Celestial Plain in the Pure Land had three seats for the Three Pillar Gods. Controlling them meant controlling the Pure Land itself. Occasionally the village would hand them some missions too, letting the Hidden Rain Ninjas earn commissions to buy Ninja Tools.
But Hanzo was still timid. Even next to the Hidden Rock Village, he kept two squads of Hidden Rain Ninjas stationed around his residence, terrified that someone might assassinate him.
