Chapter 264 - Chapter 264 The Correct Use of the Time Converter

Using a Time-Turner to be lazy? How could I!

When I received the Time-Turner, Professor McGonagall specifically instructed me to only use it for studying and nothing else.

I even patted my chest and guaranteed it.

What's more, after getting the Time-Turner, I looked up information.

magic related to time is very unstable, and unauthorized use of a Time-Turner could very likely lead to catastrophic consequences.

At best, it could cause a Wizard to kill their past or future self; at worst, it could lead to temporal anomalies, changing the life trajectories of many people.

Therefore, the Ministry of Magic has enacted hundreds of laws regarding the possession and use of Time-Turners, and any violation will result in the most severe legal penalties.

I certainly don't want to be caught by the Ministry of Magic and thrown into Azkaban for illegally using a Time-Turner.

Hermione's face was troubled as she hesitantly voiced her concerns to Sebastian.

"Haha," Sebastian laughed heartily, "Miss Granger, don't worry about this."

"Using a Time-Turner to be lazy is only for the sake of better studying. I guarantee the Ministry of Magic will never bother a young Witch like you for such a small matter."

"First, listen to my plan."

Hearing this, Hermione relaxed.

In her eyes, Professor Swan was the embodiment of omnipotence; his advice was absolutely trustworthy.

Moreover, she was now utterly exhausted from studying, and if there was a suitable method, she certainly wanted to relax a bit.

She obediently sat up straight, adopting an attentive posture.

"Miss Granger, when you received the Time-Turner, did Professor McGonagall tell you that the time limit for time travel is five hours?"

"Yes," Hermione nodded, "Professor McGonagall said that after five hours, time travel becomes extremely unstable."

"This time limit is in place to prevent severe harm to the traveler and to time itself."

"I strictly adhere to these regulations every time I use it."

"Very good," Sebastian smiled approvingly, "I've noticed that most of your repeated classes are concentrated in the morning."

"This means that by noon, you've already studied at least one major class more than others, and you're much more tired."

"Given this, I suggest that after lunch each day, you use a Time-Turner to give yourself a short nap."

A nap?

I've never had the habit of taking naps.

Hermione widened her eyes, looking at Sebastian in confusion.

"According to Muggle research, people enter a state of post-meal drowsiness after lunch."

"A short nap can help you recover your energy and also improve your study efficiency in the afternoon."

Sebastian smiled and continued, "After long hours of intense studying in the morning, a nap can help your body and brain get a brief rest."

"Studies show that learning and work done after a nap significantly improve in efficiency, and the content is easier to remember."

Improve study efficiency!

This is possible!

Moreover, during the nap, I would stay entirely within the bed curtains in my dormitory, not wandering around, so there's no need to worry about encountering other versions of myself.

No matter how I look at it, it's perfectly suited for me.

Thinking of this, Hermione excitedly asked, "Professor, what's the best duration for a nap?"

"Generally speaking, twenty to forty minutes is best."

"Because prolonged napping can lead to deep sleep, and if you're forced to wake up from deep sleep, you'll feel lethargic."

Knowing Hermione had a tendency to blindly follow authority, Sebastian added:

"Of course, your situation is quite special."

"If you feel particularly tired in the afternoon, you can also use a Time-Turner to rest for a bit."

"If you're extremely, extremely tired, you can also sleep a little longer."

Sleep a little longer?

Now Hermione was again in a dilemma.

How should I arrange the time?

I don't know when I'm in deep sleep.

Before Hermione could voice her confusion, Sebastian continued to explain.

"According to Muggle research, we can rest according to sleep cycles, with each cycle lasting approximately 90 minutes."

"In this cycle, the body goes from light sleep to deep sleep, and finally enters REM sleep, which is the stage where we dream. This is a crucial part for both the brain and body to rest."

"If we wake up at the end of a sleep cycle, say around 90 minutes, we will feel more awake and energized."

Sebastian smiled and said, "Based on this principle, you can reasonably arrange your naps or afternoon rests."

"Adjust your routine; no matter how busy your studies are, remember to use the Time-Turner to give your body and brain enough rest."

Hearing Sebastian's explanation, Hermione's eyes sparkled.

It was truly enlightening, genuinely enlightening.

I never imagined that even a sleep issue would have so many intricacies.

Professor Swan is indeed amazing; he knows about all these Muggle studies, truly worthy of being the star Professor of Muggle Studies Class.

On that note, these studies are quite interesting.

Perhaps I could write to my father and ask him to compile some Muggle research to send to me.

I could definitely read these studies as leisure reading during my breaks, to broaden my horizons.

"Miss Granger," Sebastian interrupted Hermione's contemplation, "I think the content of the third-year Muggle Studies Class is truly of no help to you."

"Have you considered taking the interview assessment for this class?"

"That way, you can save the time spent on lectures and homework for this class and use it for other subjects."

"Also, have you taken the interview assessments for any other classes? As far as I know, Harry has already passed the Potion Class interview assessment."

To be honest, the interview assessment program was specifically designed for students like Hermione, who have heavy study loads and strong self-learning abilities.

However, Sebastian didn't seem to have heard of Hermione taking an interview assessment for any particular class, which made him a bit puzzled.

"Professor," Hermione smiled shyly, "I originally planned to take the interview assessments for History of Magic and Astronomy Class."

"But I always feel that I haven't memorized all the textbooks for these two classes proficiently yet, so I plan to sign up in December."

"As for Muggle Studies Class, I find the essays assigned in this class quite interesting, and I also enjoy thinking about the differences between the Wizarding World and the Muggle world."

"I'm worried that after taking the interview assessment, I won't be able to write these essays anymore."

Good heavens!

What kind of academic overachiever talk is this?

Other young Wizards are eager to write two fewer assignments, but you, young lady, are afraid you'll write too few essays.

Sebastian shook his head gently, saying helplessly.

"Miss Granger, if you want to write essays for this class, I can arrange for Ron to bring you the topics after each class."

"If you're interested, write them; if not, just ignore them."

"As for the classroom content of Muggle Studies Class, it's a pure waste of time for you."

"Therefore, I've decided to provide you with an opportunity for an interview assessment next weekend."

"I will have an owl bring you the specific assessment time; remember to come on time for the interview."

Hearing this, Hermione turned pale with fright, wailing in her heart.

No!

It's too rushed.

I haven't memorized all the textbooks yet...
