Chapter 154: Journey to Sky Island (Part 2)
The old man who called himself the 'Knight of the Sky' mounted his Pegasus once more, his winged helmet gleaming softly in the light reflecting off the sea of clouds.
Giving the crew one final nod, he squeezed the horse's flanks. The Pegasus spread its magnificent wings and galloped across the rolling white waves, quickly vanishing into the thick, pearlescent fog.
On the ship.
The crew watched Gan Fall until he completely disappeared from sight, reluctantly pulling their eyes away. They had just said goodbye to the very first Skypiean they had ever met.
But for those who had just arrived in this sky, the adventure had only just begun.
"Alright, guys! Let's head in the direction the Sky Knight pointed! Set sail!" Luffy shouted passionately, pointing in a specific direction.
He stood proudly atop the Merry's sheep figurehead, his back to the crew as he issued his captain's orders, radiating the grand, adventurous spirit of a true pirate captain.
"Set sail!!!"
"Sky Island, here we come!"
Usopp, Chopper, and Sanji instantly matched his energy, throwing their arms around each other's shoulders and screaming at the top of their lungs.
"Seriously, you idiots…" Nami rubbed her temples, dark lines forming on her forehead. "Why are you yelling so loud? What if you attract another weird monster?!"
"Careful, Luffy, don't fall off," Robin added with a gentle smile.
She was leaning gracefully against the mainmast, holding the logbook they had received from Mont Blanc Cricket. Her slender fingers carefully turned the yellowed, weathered pages.
As she read, she muttered the contents aloud, her tone thoughtful. "Noland's logbook mentions the entry process for Sky Island… It says we have to pass through something called… 'Heaven's Gate'…?"
Standing at the helm, Zoro's ears twitched. He raised an eyebrow.
"'Heaven's Gate'? Why does that make it sound like we're going to heaven?"
Despite his grumbling, his hands remained perfectly steady on the wheel, smoothly adjusting the Merry's heading to align with Luffy's dramatic pointing.
The 'surface' of the White Sea was far smoother than a true ocean. The ship sailed with almost no noticeable turbulence, making the helmsman's job quite easy.
With nothing to wrestle against, Zoro casually turned his head, his gaze drifting toward the side of the bow.
He locked eyes with the blue-haired girl who had remained completely, suspiciously silent from the moment Gan Fall arrived to the moment he left.
"Hey, Ram-Horned Woman. Have you been here before?"
'Ram-Horned Woman'. A painfully literal, irritatingly uncreative moniker for a woman with horns on her head.
The horns adorning Ganyu's head were, in reality, the physical manifestation of her divine Qilin bloodline. They did, however, bear a striking resemblance to ram horns, to the point where nine out of ten strangers would absolutely assume she was just a girl with a very pretty pair of ram horns.
Even so, no normal person with a functioning sense of self-preservation would ever combine the words 'Ram-Horned' and 'Woman' to address a graceful, fragrant, soft, and breathtakingly beautiful young girl in the prime of her youth, gathering the spiritual essence of heaven and earth.
Yet, there just had to be someone reckless enough to court death.
Ganyu's shoulders gave a microscopic twitch.
"No."
She shot the suicidally dense swordsman a venomous glare, before lowering her eyes to look at the shoes she had chosen to wear today.
A pristine pair of Liyue-style white cloth shoes—with heels.
Anyone who has frequently been stepped on by a woman knows the agonizing difference between a flat sole and a heel. Factoring in Ganyu's monstrous physical strength, those heels were weapons of mass destruction capable of extracting blood-curdling screams from even the toughest of men.
