Chapter 155: Journey to Sky Island (Part 3)

Unfortunately for Ganyu, the man she wanted to stomp into the deck was currently in complete control of the ship's helm. The safety of everyone on board rested squarely in his hands.

Ganyu noticed this just as she lifted her foot, which was why she held back her outburst.

Meanwhile, the green-haired swordsman who had just narrowly dodged a crippling injury remained completely oblivious to how close he had come to suffering.

He flashed a cocky grin, speaking in his usual half-joking, half-probing tone.

"Really? Because you definitely don't have the look of someone seeing this place for the first time."

Zoro locked his eyes onto the girl's beautiful face—and, sure enough, caught a fleeting flash of panic and surprise dart across her features.

He chuckled inwardly.

Just as I guessed. Even if this woman hadn't physically been to Sky Island before, she had definitely known it existed long before Noland's story.

Since he was the very first person in the crew to meet her, he had naturally been afforded more opportunities to catch glimpses of her deeply hidden secrets. In the beginning, she hadn't hidden herself nearly as well as she did now.

Her identity, her past, her abilities—every single aspect of her existence was shrouded in heavy, suffocating mystery.

Zoro had never actively tried to pry into her past. But just because he never pried didn't mean he couldn't guess.

Over the course of their journey, piecing together the tiny, fragmented details she accidentally let slip, Zoro had managed to form a rough outline of the truth.

Her mental age was noticeably older than her physical appearance, though not by a massive margin.

Her knowledge of the Grand Line utterly eclipsed everyone else's on the ship. Whether it was weather phenomena, specific islands, strange wildlife, or the dark secrets buried in the world's history, she seemed to know exactly where things were and how they would appear.

She seemed to have possessed a deep understanding of the sea's greatest powerhouses from a very long time ago. Hawkeye, Crocodile, Ace—she had displayed a terrifying level of pre-existing knowledge about the absolute peak of the sea.

She had clearly traveled extensively. Whether it was Alabasta or the current Sky Island, Zoro always got the nagging feeling that she wasn't seeing these sights for the first time. There was surprise and anticipation in her eyes, sure, but it was always mixed with a deep, quiet nostalgia. Rather, it was like returning to a familiar place she had been away from for a long time.

Seeing that the girl was refusing to answer, Zoro leaned in closer, deliberately dropping his voice to a whisper only she could hear.

"Be honest. This isn't your first voyage, is it?"

Nearby, Robin, who had been fully engrossed in Noland's logbook, paused the movement of her fingers. She didn't look up, but it was obvious she was eagerly eavesdropping on the conversation.

Ganyu lowered her eyes.

On the surface, she looked as calm as a gentle breeze, but internally, she was panicking.

However, hearing Zoro's specific accusation actually made her release a quiet sigh of relief.

And here I thought this dense guy had suddenly grown a brain…

Turns out he's just suspecting that. To this day, Ganyu kept only one absolute secret from her crewmates: her true origins.

She had no intention of ever telling anyone on the ship that she was a transmigrator. It wasn't a matter of distrust; after fighting alongside the Straw Hats, she viewed every single one of them as an irreplaceable, precious comrade.

But…

She had no idea how to even begin explaining the origins of this body, or the world she had lived in before her transmigration.

And more importantly, there was another, deeper reason—one that even Ganyu herself didn't want to overthink.

She didn't want them to look at her and see an alien soul occupying this body.
