Ana Rodrigo
PRT ENE Receptionist
The Protectorate, Brockton Bay
January 2010
Damn, will this day not end?
I need to get off work soon, or I will melt in this damn chair. Didn't we have Tinker air conditioning or something?
The sound of the door opening came to my ears, and I immediately sat up and put on my professional mask.
A man… no… a hunk.
Sure, the pink hair is weird, but lots of people dye their hair weird colours. He also looks kinda homeless now that I think of it, with scratches and tears along his clothing.
He might be a Merchant.
My hand hovers right above the alarm button under my desk, ready to call down the heroes and troopers to take care of him if it comes to it.
He stops at the table, and I caught him doing a room sweep. Looking for exits, windows, locations of possible combatants and civilians. The only reason I know this is thanks to some of the troopers explaining it to me when I asked.
This only made me more suspicious. My hand was literally shaking, but I didn't dare press the button without just cause; if not, Piggot will have my hide.
He then turned to look at me with… are those contacts, cause there is no way his eyes are purple in colour. Looks like how George R.R. Martin described those Targaryens in his book before he was killed in an attack by The Teeth.
"I asked around, and the civilians told me you were the people I should come to for weird cases, especially 'cape'-related ones," he said with a slight sigh. He then ruffled his hair a bit as he thought of what to say before coming to a decision.
"My name is Aomine Yuji. As of yesterday, I died in an alley in Lisbon defending a woman from a rapist. I woke up today in a fucking scrapyard in a city that I do not remember belonging in America."
"Not to mention that, as far as I know, it is 2026. Imagine my surprise when I found out it's 2010 again!" he said, getting angrier and more animated.
"At first, I thought I had accidentally time travelled, but lo and behold, I saw some blonde chick flying in the air in a Tesco Wonder Woman costume. That was when I knew I wasn't on my Earth anymore."
"Not to mention, I can do things now. Things I believed belonged on the pages of manga and comics. My power seems similar to that guy from the X-Men. I think his name was Legion, the one that keeps gaining powers."
A Case 66, a dimensional refugee. Protocols were set up for hypothetical cases like this, especially after Dr. Haywire died and some of his portals remained open.
Maybe he fell through one of them, but then…
Did this guy just say he keeps getting powers? Is he a Trump like Eidolon? A Trump 10?
Can't let this guy slip through and get recruited by the gangs. If they found out he left because of me, the Director will have my head on her wall.
I put on a smile and replied to him,
"I am sorry for you having to go through all that. My name is Ana. I'll make a call and get my superiors to come meet you now. For what it's worth, welcome to Earth Bet."
He seemed tired, as all he did was sigh before saying,
"Yeah, yeah. Call your superiors or something, and please bring clothes. I am losing aura just standing here in these rags."
I immediately placed a call to the director. Told her there is a possible Case 66 here, and he has triggered and seems to either be a grab bag or a Trump.
Chaos ensued immediately as she directly spat curses at me and parahumans in general.
Director Emily Piggot
Just one day.
Just one day of peace in this damned city is all I ask, and even that seems too much.
She took another look at the parahuman claiming to be from an alternate Earth, playing with a touchscreen phone that is obviously not Tinker tech from what she is observing.
The boy's age lands him solidly in the young adult age group. About twenty to twenty-four. He is also mixed—African and Japanese—so that rules out being an Empire patsy.
When she gave the green light for them to bring him here, she also sent an urgent notice to Armsmaster, Assault and Battery, and Velocity to come to her office quickly to stand by in case this all goes to hell.
With them now standing at her side, she felt confident enough in her safety around him.
"Are you guys done aura farming, cause I'm tired personally," the pink-haired boy said.
Assault muttered something to Battery, who promptly elbowed his sides lightly.
"You claim to be from an alternate Earth that is currently in the year 2026. I hope you can back up that claim," said Armsmaster.
He has been slightly more invested in this, especially after seeing a recording of the young man when he was speaking with Ana.
"Yeah. I died protecting a girl from a rapist whilst going back to my university hostel in Lisbon. Heard a girl screaming and saw a guy pin her down and grope her. Stepped in and tackled him off her."
"I told her to run and concentrated on fighting the rapist. I have had a renewed hatred of rapists and pedophiles, especially after the Epstein files were released and I saw what the elites did to young men and women. Unfortunately, I wasn't that guy, and this fucker pulled a gun and unloaded it in me."
"I died drowning in my own blood. I felt something as I was slipping away into oblivion. Like my mind expanded and then collapsed. I then found myself in a scrap site and saw a girl flying over me. That's when I knew I was not in my universe anymore."
"It was also when I realised I also had powers. Like I instinctively understood what it was, strangely. After I found out what it was, I won't lie, I danced a bit in excitement."
I then interrupted him and asked the question that has been playing on my mind for a while now.
"What is your power, Aomine?"
A smile crept up his face as he answered,
"You guys have Marvel and DC here, right?"
Assault replied quickly, saying,
"They went bankrupt in the '90s. No one was reading comics about superpowers anymore when they were already living and seeing it every day."
Aomine slumped back into his chair, muttering something about this universe being uncultured.
"Uncultured asses. Doesn't matter, I'll probably draw some mangas to make money or something. Anyways, my powers are a mix of Legion from the X-Men and Amazo, although slightly different."
"You see, there are infinite amounts of universes and different versions of ourselves. My power passively scours the multiverse, observes, and then tries its best to copy their powers for myself. Sometimes it's not one-to-one. Basically, I passively gain and develop powers from my other variants."
No.
"Sometimes, they don't have powers but are very smart or skilled. My power then simulates their skills and experience for me. Allowing me to live part of their lives, gain their skills and knowledge. In my perspective, it might be months or years, but only a second will pass in real time. It's pretty cool."
No.
No. No. No. No!
Why is it always my city! A Walmart Eidolon has arrived in my city, and I am tempted to shoot him dead right now if only to save myself the future headache.
Breathe.
In and out. Do not scream at the scary cape in front of me now. Who knows what powers he has or what knowledge he has based on his alternate variants.
"What powers do you have right now?" Battery asked with a slight tremor in her voice as she grasped that they are dealing with a possible Trump 10.
He leaned back and snickered a bit before saying,
"Maybe, but first I need some reassurance from your government and mine. Both Portugal and Japan, as I am a dual citizen. I need papers once again. I was in my final year of uni before I died, so I would like to finish that too. Housing, I also need US asylum for a while until I move back home to Portugal. I am twenty years old, but I was born in 2006, so you would have to backdate my birth year a few years to match my age. Finally, a bank account and some funding."
Truthfully, it wasn't much he asked for. The PRT is ready to shell out even more to keep him away from joining the gangs and, if possible, entice him to join us.
A Trump of his calibre, especially one that keeps gaining more powers, will be a boon for the Protectorate. They are already severely down on capes, but with him on the roster, it might not even matter.
For the next hour, both of us negotiated a contract which agreed to all his previous demands and also a slightly better standard cape contract.
With him getting forty thousand dollars a month, being inducted into the Brockton Bay Protectorate, and an apartment in the city completely bought and paid for in his name.
In regards to any possible Tinker abilities, he made an ultimatum that all his creations belong to him and not the PRT, or he would walk.
All Tinker tech is legally owned by the PRT. It gives us the right to veto their designs, control their funding, and can take them from the Tinkers legally at any time, regardless of what they want.
He decided on taking no extra funds from the PRT for any future tinkering, thus keeping his products for himself.
By the end of the negotiations, he had decided on a cape name.
Sukuna. Apparently taken from some anime in the future of his world. He also off-handedly admitted to not needing a mask when asked by Battery, as he has a Stranger power that can transform his body to look like anything he has seen or can imagine.
He doesn't realise how terrifying such an ability will be. Now, because of him, there will have to be semi-frequent M/S protocols just to make sure he isn't using it for nefarious purposes.
At least we secured him for ourselves and denied the gangs the opportunity to recruit him. All I need to do now is inform the Chief Director and other directors about the current ongoing related to him.
Sukuna
PRT Power Testing Laboratory
On my way to the PRT, I gained a power. One that came with a vision of a world I knew.
The Naruto world. This variant of myself was a genin for about five years before the vision ended. Joined the Genin Corps after graduation because he failed his genin test. Somehow learnt the Shadow Clone jutsu and was able to create a lot of variants of it.
I lived through some of his battles in the Third Ninja War, gaining his skills, instincts, and knowledge of chakra and taijutsu. The vision only ended when he got knocked out and captured by some Rain nins.
[Shadow Clones]
100 CP
Ah, Shadow Clone no Jutsu. The signature jutsu of the Naruto franchise. And now you can join in on the fun. You have the knowledge and a copy of a technique scroll for the Shadow Clone Jutsu, of such quality that an idiot could teach himself from this thing in virtually no time at all. It even has safeguards built-in that eliminate any possibility of killing yourself by putting too much chakra into it, or getting a headache from too many clones dispelling at once, or anything like that. The worst that can possibly happen is that it fails to work. You still can only make as many Shadow Clones as your chakra can support, but outside of that, you can feel free to abuse this handy jutsu for training, decoys, diversions, paperwork, chores, or whatever else you can imagine. In the event that this technique is supposed to have some additional features in the particular fanfiction you go to, or even a better version, this scroll will contain both versions. Some of the best Shadow Clone fanfic features include Shadow Clone self-chakra regeneration, temporal split clones instead of normal clones, mind merging without dispel, constant hivemind-like connection, etc., all of which are available to you.
FREE: Chakra Coils - The basic ability to use chakra, as represented by "chakra coils" that are a nebulous part of your body and/or soul now. You have top-quality chakra coils which would place you in the top 5% in this world in terms of both capacity and control. After this jump, your chakra system and body continue to function just as they do in this world, retaining any improvements or additions made along the way. You may also, if you choose to, induce the development of chakra coils into only one other person by steadily pushing some of your chakra into them for about an hour.
FREE: Academy Training - You already have all the basic training necessary to start on your career as a ninja. Your physical stats and resilience are what civilians would call 'peak human', and you can mold chakra, use kunai and shuriken, do the Academy Three Jutsu (Henge, Kawarimi, and Bunshin), and have learned a basic taijutsu style. You've even studied ahead a little and learned tree climbing, chakra-boosted jumping, and several D-rank techniques. You also have some combat experience on the battlefield.
FREE: Elemental Affinity - Not much to see here. You have an extremely strong elemental affinity in one of the five primary elements of this world, those being Fire, Wind, Water, Earth, and Lightning. The first purchase of this perk is free; second and onwards cost 100 CP, though you must purchase a different primary element each time.
Free Perk: Earth (Chosen)
2nd Perk: Water (Chosen) 100 CP

I also gained an ability randomly as I spoke with the receptionist downstairs. No CP, no visions, nothing. Just gained it. This must be the feat-based mechanism of gaining powers.
It's a decent ability but nothing truly game-changing, as I already had experience wielding weapons thanks to the experience of doing so in the Elemental Nations.
[Adept Arms Mastery]
|Elite Skill|
You are able to handle all conventional weapons, ranging from knives to swords to axes to polearms to guns to bows to even chained weapons and clubs with great skill, enough to match most dedicated practitioners in skill.
This infused me with skills up to almost the pinnacle of human skill in all possible weapons. Streams of information, instincts, and confidence flowed through me as it also improved on what I already knew and brought up my skills to a new dimension.
The best part is gaining access to Chakra. It's one of the most versatile energy systems in anime. Not the strongest, but definitely one of the most versatile. Might take a while, but I should be able to create and recreate jutsus for myself.
"Sukuna, testing is about to begin," said one of the PRT-sponsored scientists who are here to find the limits of my abilities and any aspects of it I might have missed.
And also to try and create contingencies, but that part was not said out loud at all.
"I'm ready. Blade Blacksmith."
A dark-coloured sword was created in my hand and promptly burst into flames.
