Ella looked up at him. Her clear, bright black-and-white eyes sparkled. She tilted her little head, blinked twice as if stunned, then her eyes quickly reddened. "Then… where's my daddy? I saw him go into the elevator!"
She clutched Ned's suit pants tightly, clearly refusing to let go. "Where did you hide my daddy? Waaah… I won't play with Labubu anymore. I'll be good from now on. I promise I won't run around again. Give me back my daddy~ Daddy~"
The way the little girl spoke—so pitiful, with a sobbing catch in her voice, tears hovering but not quite falling—could break anyone's heart.
Nate immediately said, "This must be some lost child who mistook you for her father."
It was obvious, and Ned had already realized it.
But even if it was a mistake, he still had to clear things up!
