Chapter 254 - Chapter 255: Gin's Disappointment

"Gin, I am Martini."

Listening to the voice coming from the phone, using a voice changer just like Rum, Gin's face under his black fedora turned stern.

He held a cigarette in his mouth and said in a cold, hoarse voice, "Martini, what is it?"

"Gin, according to Rum's orders, you will be following my command from now on."

Toru deliberately let a hint of smugness show in his tone.

Gin took the cigarette from his mouth. He forcefully pressed the cigarette butt into a nearby ashtray and said coldly, "Kid, you're new to the Organization, aren't you?"

Gin had never heard the name Martini before, so he was sure that this Martini was someone who had just joined the Organization.

However, to be recognized by Rum to this extent, this Martini was probably very capable. Perhaps even his smugness was fake, so he needed to be careful.

As a rare model worker in the Black Organization, and a model worker with both ability and intelligence, Gin would not be deceived by Toru's few words and think that he was a smug little person.

Such a person could never gain Rum's trust.

"That's right, I'm new. Is there a problem, Gin?"

"No problem, I just want to warn you to respect your senpais. The Organization is not that simple. People like you will only die a miserable death."

Gin's words carried a strong threat.

He was never someone who would swallow his pride. Since he had already considered this Martini his competitor and enemy, he would never lower himself.

"Heh, Gin, are you no longer listening to Rum's orders?"

"Don't try to scare me with Rum, and don't fantasize about sowing discord between us."

Gin said coldly.

In the Western-style mansion, Toru sat in front of a computer. He wore headphones, raised his eyebrows after hearing Gin's words, then looked at Haibara beside him, whose face showed fear, and said:

"It seems Gin is smart enough. I teased him like that, and he didn't fall for it."

Toru's earlier words were deliberately meant to anger Gin, and there was also the intention of deliberately driving a wedge between him and Rum.

But now it seemed that Gin's intelligence was very high. He was not the kind of killer who relied purely on strength without using his brain.

Haibara forced a smile. Gin's voice truly made her feel afraid. All along, when she was in the Organization, she had been under Gin's surveillance.

Especially since Gin never had any thoughts of cherishing or protecting women. That ruthlessness and heartlessness truly made Haibara afraid.

She said in a low voice, "That's Gin after all. He is the Organization's top killer. He is definitely not that kind of brainless person."

Toru nodded, agreeing with Haibara's words.

Since driving a wedge between them did not work, Toru no longer used that kind of tactic, but changed his approach and said:

"Gin, the Organization is too rigid. It has been occupied by you old-timers for too long. It needs fresh blood."

" Shuichi caused such great harm to the Organization, yet you still haven't killed him. How can the Organization trust you?"

"As for me, I eliminated Akai Shuichi as soon as I joined the Organization. This also proves your incompetence, Gin."

Gin, sitting in the Porsche, widened his eyes. He said in a low voice, "You killed Akai Shuichi?"

He had received the news of Shuichi's death not long ago, but Gin did not believe it at all.

He and Shuichi had fought for so many years. Neither could eliminate the other, and there was even a sense of mutual appreciation.

In Gin's eyes, only he could kill Shuichi. No one else could do it.

But now Shuichi had died just like that, at the hands of a newcomer who had just joined the Organization.

This even made Gin feel bewildered and incredulous.

Gin had also suspected that Shuichi had faked his death, but under his investigation, all evidence proved that Shuichi was indeed dead.

"That's right, I killed him. You should be careful, Gin. We are colleagues now, so I won't make a move on you."

"But if you stand in my way, I won't let you off either."

Toru's words made Gin hang up the phone immediately. He was afraid he would not be able to stop his killing intent.

Toru had said those words deliberately, specifically for Rum to hear.

According to his observations and the intelligence he had gathered, Rum did not have absolute trust in Gin. He had always regarded Gin as That Person's subordinate.

Now that he chose to oppose Gin, it would only make Rum feel relieved and trust him more.

Before he took action to eliminate Rum and take over the Black Organization, Toru had to mislead Rum as much as possible and make him his tool.

And the best way to mislead him was through trust.

In the Porsche, Gin almost crushed the phone in his hand.

Then the phone vibrated again, and a message came through with an address and time on it.

Vodka, sitting in the driver's seat, had cold sweat on his face. It was the first time he had seen someone dare to speak to Big Brother like this, with such an arrogant tone.

But looking at Gin, he seemed helpless as well.

In Vodka's understanding, Gin had only suffered losses twice.

The first time was at Sherry's laboratory, where they were chased and attacked by someone in an Apache helicopter, fleeing like stray dogs.

The second time was at the Aquarium, where they were hit by an anti-aircraft missile, not only losing an Osprey helicopter but also breaking Big Brother's leg.

Who attacked Gin those two times had still not been investigated until now, only that it should have been people from America.

And this was the third time Gin had been frustrated, not in action, but in words.

"Vodka."

Gin spoke coldly.

"Big Brother, I'm here!"

Vodka was startled and quickly sat up straight.

"I'm giving you a mission."

"Tell me, Big Brother."

"Investigate the true identity of this Martini."

"This..."

Vodka was in a difficult position. He whispered, "...Big Brother, this Martini is Rum's man, and he is highly trusted by Rum. This time, Rum even let him command us..."

"It might be very difficult to investigate his identity."

Gin said, "Do your best. I'm not saying you must complete this."

Vodka breathed a sigh of relief.

After a pause, Gin said again, "...Be careful. No matter how the other party eliminated Akai Shuichi, this Martini is definitely not simple. He is deliberately trying to provoke me."

Gin was still very fond of Vodka, this capable and loyal subordinate who always did the dirty and tiring work. He did not want anything to happen to Vodka.

Vodka was flattered, not expecting BigGin to care about him. He immediately said, "Big Brother, don't worry, I will be careful."

"Then... Big Brother, what should we do now?"

"What should we do? Of course, complete the mission."

Gin looked coldly at the message Toru had sent to his phone. The time and location were his mission objective.

"Since it's an Organization mission, it must be completed. Even if I despise that Martini, this is the rule. I won't violate it, and I won't let others violate it. Do you understand what I mean?"

"I understand, Big Brother!"

"Then let's drive!"

"Yes!"

Vodka quickly drove the Porsche toward a villa in the suburbs of Tokyo.

The two got out of the car, found a high point on a hill, and observed the Japanese-style courtyard in front of them with binoculars.

Before long, various luxury cars were seen driving into the courtyard.

Among the people who got out of these luxury cars, some were representatives of Japan's high-ranking officials, while others were corporate executives.

There were also some people who seemed ordinary but were warmly welcomed. They were fanatical believers of the Unification Church, arguably the core of the Unification Church's backbone, responsible for all missionary work.

"Big Brother, there are probably about 180 people in the courtyard."

"Okay, we'll go straight in later, kill everyone, and complete the mission quickly."

Gin never dragged things out. He only did one thing, and that was kill!

"Kill everyone? Our weapons might not be enough."

Vodka was surprised. At most, he and Gin carried handguns. Killing more than a hundred people with just two handguns was a bit too difficult.

"I already had the Organization send weapons. Look, the weapons have arrived."

At the intersection not far from the courtyard, a small truck was parked.

Gin said, "Let's go, get the weapons, and complete the Organization's mission."

"Yes, Big Brother!"

Vodka also became excited.

In the past, most of the time they did assassination work or eliminated Organization moles.

This kind of job, where you just go in and shoot, and the risk is not high, was hard to come by.

You had to know that the Organization rarely did such violent things. This time, they did not know how the Unification Church had provoked the Organization to the point that Rum issued an order to kill everyone.
