"I don't want to stay here and just wait for her to wake up," Linn said. Her voice trembled, but she didn't back down. "You spent years looking for me. I don't want to spend the rest of my life waiting for something that may never happen."
She slowly wiped the corner of her eye.
"I want to do something."
Her gaze shifted toward the open doorway, toward the path that led beyond the House of Mork.
"Lexel said there's always a way. I want to believe him."
Flinn remained silent.
Linn then looked directly into her sister's eyes.
"And if I have to become stronger to find it, then I'll become stronger." Her voice became firmer.
Flinn's expression remained stunned.
Linn glanced at their mother one last time.
"I want to come with you, Flinn."
This time, Flinn understood.
Linn wasn't abandoning her family.
She was leaving because she wanted to save it.
"Then go."
It wasn't Flinn who answered.
It was their father, Fran.
