Everyone except Cresty.
She had the awareness of a panicked owl, and the moment Layla asked about Linn's job class, she had already taken the opportunity to scan her. Whatever the System had revealed, Cresty had seen it before anyone else could react, and yet she kept her expression carefully neutral.
"So what?" Lexel immediately downplayed the atmosphere.
His casual response cut through the tension almost instantly, as though the word monster on Linn's status screen wasn't nearly as alarming as everyone else seemed to think.
"Y-Yeah! She is still my sister," said Flinn, instinctively stepping forward and covering her sister.
Her body was tense as she positioned herself between Linn and Layla. She knew very well that she had no chance against someone like Layla, but that didn't matter. She wasn't going to stand idly by while someone threatened her sister, even if the threat was only implied.
Layla glanced at Flinn.
Then at Linn.
Then back at Flinn.
