It did not take long for Chiyo to deal with everyone present, including the jonin and Elder Daigo.
With Shota erasing their chakra, the traitors could not even put up a proper fight against Chiyo and her puppets. The old woman moved with surprising speed and flexibility for her age.
Her ten puppets danced across the battlefield like deadly ghosts, ripping apart every chunin and genin mercilessly.
The puppets used sharp blades, poison needles, and hidden weapons to tear through the enemies without mercy. Some of the weaker shinobi tried to run, but the puppets chased them down and ended their lives quickly.
What surprised Shota most was, how easily she was able to control 10 puppets at the same time. It showed why she was still called a S rank shinobi and why she was still feared across the shinobi world despite her age.
The stronger jonin lasted a little longer, but even they fell under the assault. Shota's Erasure kept removing their chakra whenever they tried to use jutsu, leaving them helpless against Chiyo's legendary puppet collection.
Chiyo though did not kill the Jonins but they suffered a date worse than death. The puppets injured the Jonins as well as Elder Daigo so badly that the only thing they would be good for was extracting information.
The captured men lay on the sand, groaning in pain and begging for death rather than suffering in their terrible condition. Blood stained the sand around them.
Shota had no doubt that even without his help, Chiyo could have easily dealt with everyone even at her age. The old woman was a legend for a reason.
Shota saw the Anbu commanders of all the divisions arriving along with Rasa, who came floating on a cloud of gold dust.
He thought,'An old lady was faster than these young men. No wonder Suna is called the weakest village but I would not let it happen anymore.'
The Kazekage looked serious as he surveyed the carnage. Dead bodies lay scattered across the sand, and the injured traitors were being rounded up by the arriving Anbu. Rasa's eyes moved from the destruction to Shota and then to Lady Chiyo, taking in the entire situation.
Chiyo looked at the Anbu commanders that had arrived along with Rasa. "You are in time to carry the ones that are still alive. Make sure they make it. I want every piece of information they have on Sasori," she ordered firmly.
Rasa added, "They would also have information about the illegal deals that they made as they betrayed the village. They might even help us find where Danzo is hiding currently. We might be able get a lot of compensation from Konoha if we manage to acquire that."
Anbu commanders carefully bandaged some of the wounds of the traitors that were leaking blood and quickly hoisted them up after putting chakra suppressing seals on them.
The prisoners groaned in pain but could not resist as they were carried away for interrogation. The Anbu moved efficiently, securing the scene and preparing to take everyone back to the village.
Shota sneakily used a chakra thread on which he carried a small needle and poked it into Elder Daigo's open wound. 'The poison might not be a nasty one, but it would make sure he would die with those wounds by creating more blood loss,' Shota thought.
'While the information of what he was carrying is worth it, I can not let Elder Daigo spill the beans on Sasori san and that he became a traitor without him framing him. Sasori nii-san killed the Third Kazekage because he wanted the Kazekage to become his art after all,' Shota thought carefully.
'They would have to be satisfied with whatever information the jonin provide, which I am sure would be a lot since Elder Daigo would have to delegate responsibilities and jonin would be the ones he would trust the most,' Shota thought with satisfaction.
Rasa then looked at Spider and said, "You know what to do."
Spider said, "I will have a squad search through Elder Daigo's house and office for intel."
"I will do it, Spider senpai. After all, as the leader of the new Anbu unit, it is my duty," Shota said quickly.
Rasa gave him a long look before nodding in approval.
"About Sasori-san... Lord Kazekage?" Shota asked carefully.
"Since Lord Daimyo has given his order, Suna will have to revoke his bounty," Rasa replied.
Chiyo had a slight smile on her face, which if the elders had seen, they would have tried to hit their heads to see if they were in a genjutsu. Because it had been a while since she smiled. The only expression they ever saw on her face was an angry scowl.
"But we would only be having him return to the village after we have more findings to get a better picture," Rasa added.
Shota nodded in understanding.
Then everyone, along with the traitors, moved back to the village. The group walked across the desert sand as the sun began to set, casting long shadows behind them.
The prisoners were carried carefully by the Anbu while the commanders discussed the next steps in low voices. Shota felt tired but satisfied as he walked among them, knowing that a major threat to Suna had finally been dealt with.
The journey back was quiet, but the air felt lighter now that justice was being served. The village walls grew closer with every step, promising a new chapter for Sunagakure.
