Shota moved toward Elder Daigo's compound with a squad of Anbu from his previous Anbu division.
The group moved silently through the streets of Sunagakure. Shota walked at the front, his expression serious and focused. The compound was large and luxurious, showing the wealth the elder had gathered over the years through his corrupt dealings.
"Take Elder Daigo's family, servants, or anyone in here in custody. They would be interrogated to see if they knew what Elder Daigo was doing and if they were involved with him. I will do the searching of the estate myself," Shota ordered firmly.
The Anbu said, "Yes sir."
They moved quickly and surrounded the entire estate so no one could leave. Then, with a loud announcement, everyone inside was ordered to come outside and line up.
Some servants and family members tried to resist or hide, but the Anbu quickly subjugated them. The people were lined up in the courtyard, looking scared and confused as the Anbu watched them carefully.
After the estate was clear of everyone, Shota decided to move inside. As he saw how large the estate was, he thought, 'Damn, I am sure he has used most of his corruption money to buy a lot of luxury. How is a normal person able to search through it alone? Lucky for me I have help.'
Shota created three shadow clones, which was his current limit. Any more than that would be dangerous for him, especially after the earlier fight. He and the three clones spread out through the entire estate, looking for any intel or anything important, they could get. They moved methodically, checking every room, drawer, and hidden spot.
Shota casually, like a goon, broke through cupboards and safes to find anything useful. Currently he was in what looked like Elder Daigo's office.
The room was richly furnished with expensive furniture and shelves full of scrolls and documents. Shota found a safe as he used his fire strings to cut through a safe that was made with some of the strongest metal. The burning threads sliced through the metal like butter, creating a clean opening. As he gazed inside, he saw many bundles of ryo.
Greedy took over him as he saw so much of money and without thinking twice he made his decision. He thought, 'No one would know if I take any.'
With that thought in mind, he took three bundles and stuffed them into a storage scroll. He then looked at the one thousand more bundles and took another one hundred bundles. He carefully put the scroll back inside the safe. He thought of taking another bundle as pocket change and stuffed that into his pocket.
"Caught you," a voice sounded from behind, making Shota spring up like a cat.
"I was just..." Shota started, but he immediately stopped when he realized it was his own shadow clone.
"Stealing is bad manners, real me," the clone said snarkily, crossing its arms.
"Get back to work, you stupid clone!!" Shota said angrily, waving his hand dismissively.
"Make sure to buy us a very comfy bed with that much money," the clone said while running off to continue searching.
Shota snorted as he then put the rest of the money in another scroll that he would present to the council. As he was about to leave the office, he noticed fuinjutsu runes carved behind the locker. It seemed that there was another locker behind this one.
'Hmm, judging from the fuinjutsu on it, if I force into that safe or destroy it, it would explode and destroy its contents,' he thought.
'I guess studying fuinjutsu for some time now, would finally come in handy in this situation,' Shota thought as he tried to disarm the trap with all his knowledge of fuinjutsu.
It took him two hours to do so as he carefully analyzing each seal and countering them one by one. Sweat dripped down his forehead as he worked, but he finally succeeded in opening the hidden safe without triggering the explosion.
After that, he opened the scroll inside to find various scrolls containing some deals that Elder Daigo made with various parties. There were also some other scrolls that looked much older. He opened the scrolls one by one as his eyes widened after seeing each of them.
"These... are the entire arsenal of Vacuum series jutsu of Lord Second and they seem to be the original scrolls," Shota muttered in surprise.
They were the jutsus that Danzo had used against Sasuke. Wind Release: Vacuum Wave, Wind Release: Vacuum Serial Waves, Wind Release: Vacuum Sphere, Wind Release: Vacuum Great Sphere, and Wind Release: Vacuum Blade. While he had managed to get one of them from the Root auction, these jutsus were the real deal.
'It seems like Elder Daigo just gave Danzo copies of the jutsus and kept the original ones to himself,' Shota thought.
'And not only this, there are a few more Vacuum jutsus than I remembered Danzo using,' Shota thought with excitement.
Shota decided to keep the existence of these scrolls a secret and let people think they were gone and only remained with Danzo.
He would learn them on his own. He already had the permission to learn the Vacuum jutsu he got from Danzo's auction. But now he could frame it like he managed to pick up the other jutsus all on his own, further building up on his genius reputation.
'And well, who is going to catch me for this corruption when I am in charge of the corruption department?' Shota thought with a smirk as he carefully stored the scrolls away.
The search of the entire estate took several hours, but Shota and his clones managed to find plenty of additional evidence. Hidden documents, secret letters, and records of illegal deals were all gathered.
Shota felt satisfied with the results as he prepared to return to the council with everything they needed to fully condemn Elder Daigo.
