Nymeria looked left and then right. Nobody was outside. The yard was empty, and the only sound she could hear was the sound of the wind moving.
She stepped in to the hall and stopped at the front of the pavement. She bent down a little and looked under the roof beams. Nobody was there.
She walked inside with her boots making very little sound. She walked down the the long hall, past the dim lamps, and stopped at a single door.
She shift closer to the door and placed her ear on it..
Then she closed her eyes and put down the wall she used in blocking her mind magic.
Voices were coming from the inside. Two men were talking inside, and one of them was laughing at something. She listened to them for a few seconds.
Then she slowly turned her head and reached out with her mind to the rest of the hall.
She searched for another heartbeat but there was no heartbeats. It was just the two officer in inside.
Nymeria let out a low breath and walked back the same way she came.
