With that taken care of, Elion slipped out of the hall. The cool night air immediately brushed against his face.
He took a deep breath.
After spending so much time surrounded by people, the quiet outside was refreshing.
The clan's territory stretched beneath the moonlight, with several paved paths leading between the various structures.
Mana lanterns illuminated the roads, while the distant sounds of music and celebration drifted faintly from the ceremonial hall behind him.
Elion walked a little farther from the building, enjoying the peaceful atmosphere.
Then he noticed someone.
Isla.
She stood near one of the paved entrances, slightly separated from the main gathering.
Her long blonde hair whipped about gently in the night breeze as she gazed toward the sky, her expression as aloof and distant as ever.
Elion slowed.
He had spent plenty of time with Isla recently, but even so, there were moments when she seemed almost detached from everything around her.
