Aristophanes once said that humans weren't always the way we are now. Originally, people were round, powerful beings with four arms, four legs, and two faces on one head. There were three types, all wonderful and majestic until they became too powerful and eventually challenged the gods. Zeus naturally decided to weaken them by spitting the humans in half.
Ever since, it was said that each half longed for its other half, and that deep pull you felt for another person was your body's natural desire to become whole again. It was the reason why humans felt this pressing need to find their missing halves. The myth has often been tied to Anchor/Striker dynamics.
