Lucien's face was as cool as stone as he watched the First Division cadets enter the Shuttle.
He didn't get the chance or the time to find Kenneth, have him in his arms, and beg him to be careful while he was in there.
Of course, he had no reason to worry about his Anchor. Kenneth was one of the strongest cadets in his division. He was smart and good under pressure. If there was anyone who'd come out of that gate alive and well, it was him.
It didn't stop him from worrying, though.
It was sort of like that mini panic attack you get when you can't find your phone. You're frustrated, you feel like the world is going to end if it's not within your sight.
You won't find peace until you've found it.
He knew there was no sense stressing over it. Even if this wasn't his first gate, he had his own team he needed to worry about.
