Chapter 185 - Book Two, Chapter 60:Back to Basics

(A/N: This is Last Week's 1000 Power Stones Extra Chapter)

"Is that it? Are we just going to surrender?" Chall whispered under breathing. Part of her hoped for some sort of miracle.

When she heard that Aeolia Schenberg was alive and that Marcus was going to speak with him, she hoped that there would be some resistance from the founder.

But all she got was two men talking over a chess and at the end of the day, Marcus convinced him to join him.

It was… underwhelming. She expected the Founder of Celestial Being to be more idealistic and have a bit more heat in that idealism.

But at the end of the day, he accepted it. Marcus had already finished the job; there was no need to kick up a fuss about how the job was done, from the Genius man's perspective.

Yet, in Chall's perspective, she wasn't that happy she embraced his ideals, so what she is looking at leaves a bit of a sour taste in her mouth. She wanted it to be done the right way.

"Surrender? There is nothing to surrender to." The bald man walked over to their side after the chess match was over. He went to see the members of his Celestial Being… or more precisely, what remains of it.

"The job is done. Celestial Being was supposed to be a tool that unites the world. With the unification complete, humanity can now focus on the final frontier.

And I agree with Marcus Anaheim, what happens now is no longer relevant. Humanity must grow and expand, colonise planets, build space colonies and constantly reinvent itself, as long as there is no infighting, nothing else matters."

'Is it just me, or does this old man talk just like Marcus Anaheim, only that one is young and the other one is old?' Lockon Stratos is feeling like it's Deja Vu.

"...I see… I suppose it makes me picky…" Chall Acustica commented as she closed her eyes for a second.

At the end of the day, she lost her friends for this, so the very least she wanted was for it to be perfect for them.

"You fought for your ideals, in the end of the day, the one with more resources and power won." Aeolia Schenberg looked at the soldiers and watched Marcus Anaheim walk away.

He never considered another world with an Empire that has united its world. Such a thing is unpredictable with countless possibilities.

Not to mention a completely different concept of technology and its progress. Spiritually based, carved in stone? None of that is easy to predict…

"Instead, focus on the future, the world is united, focus on spreading humanity and its influence through the stars that all that matters."

With that said, the old man, Aeolia Schenberg, walked towards the soldiers, who motioned for him to follow. They would take him to Earth so that he could see how it had changed over the years.

He needs to catch up after all.

"He is right, for once, I am excited that this is over." Lockon grinned for a bit. He can't wait to see what the future has in store for them!

"..."

"..."

*Sigh*

"I suppose you are right."

'I will see after THAT'

Leesa Kujo still needs to see if the whole afterlife thing works.

Same with Chall, she still wants to see the two people who sacrificed themselves for her.

~~~
'Hmm… I am certain that I got everything that I wanted.'
Marcus looked at his bingo book.
[GUNDAM 00 to do LIST:
Conquer the world, Palpatine style: done
Put a bullet in Ribbons' forehead: done
Collect GN Stuff: yep
Take over Celestial Being and take their stuff: done
Get one over Setsuna: yeah
Get the princess: done
Collect Gundam 1: yep
Get living metal: …]
The Emperor tapped on the last remaining quest to do.
'I suppose I need to prepare for them.'
'I should add one for becoming an Innovator.'
To become an Innovator, he needs to get decent exposure to GN particles. To do that, he only needs to use a Gundam with twin drives and bask in excess particles via Trans Am.
Marcus pondered as he was brought back to South Pole Base.
Once there, he walked to the hangar.
'Hmm…'
"Tell the crew that I want these to be taken to my house on the West Coast." The Emperor said to the mechanics in the Hangar.
He wants to work on this by himself. The only thing he needs to do in this world is stabilise his control and wait for the arrival of the living metal.
So around 10ish years. The production of GN Drives would make people evolve into Innovators either way, so that they will arrive, maybe in more than ten years, but they will arrive, and he needs to wait for them.
For that, he will be staying in this reality. However, unlike before, he can now bring over his other wives; the whole secrecy is no longer a major concern.
"Understood, Your Majesty, it will be done."
With that said, Marcus went back to the base. It was cold; there was no damn way he would tinker in the freezing temperatures of one of the coldest places on Earth.
Especially when he has choices, like a nice Tony Stark-style manor on the West Coast!
As he entered the base, he almost immediately got 'assaulted' by his Fiancee.
"Moh! Why I only learn now that Aeolia Schenberg is alive! I wanted to see him!" Wang Liu Mei puffed her cheeks as she was in his arms, pushing her assets into his chest.
"You will have your chance." Marcus's hands went to her ass and pushed her up. He picked her up effortlessly as she was very light.
The Heiress used this to wrap her hands around his neck. The girl grinned at him as she was enjoying this moment she had with him.
"So what now? Oh mighty ruler of two worlds~?" The girl teased him.
"Ruler of one world. Since in this one, I am just a guardian and leader of the Peacekeeping force." He replied with a similar grin to hers.
"...Right~~~" Wang Liu Mei rolled her eyes as she continued to watch him take her somewhere.
Sadly, it was not the bedroom she was imagining, but the living room.
"So what will you do?" She asked, wanting to know the next course of action.
The pair ended up sitting on the couch; she moved into sitting sideways on his lap as she waited for him to satisfy her curiosity.
"Prepare for dialogues to come. The old man said that Quantum Brainwaves could invite aliens. That is the whole theory behind the last part of the plan.
Which we are at." He explained to her.
"...Oh…" Wang Liu Mei pondered on this information for a bit.
"But… that does not give us a specific time… it could be one, ten or hundreds of years. We don't have specifics to guess this on." The girl stopped being flirty and got serious as she pondered on what they will be facing.
"...Or we can invite them." All of a sudden, Marcus said to her.
"..."
She stopped and looked at him,
"You want… to bait aliens to attack us?" Wang Liu Mei was speechless!
"Indeed. It's the same tactic Sumeragi used; she did that to me. She had no idea what her odds were, so she baited me into a chat to get more out of it.
Sadly for her, I realised that midway and didn't reveal anything beyond the basics and declared a proper war." He explained to her.
"...I see… but this is different… these are unknown aliens and their numbers."
"Yes, but we do know something… they would arrive here because of brainwaves, that is what we can focus on."
"..."
"Indeed… We can nuke their brains." He shrugged as a random idea came to him.
"...That's right… let's just nuke their brains." All of a sudden, Marcus nodded to himself. He likes this idea already.
'Tune geass energy, mix it with quantum brainwaves, and bam. I have a mind nuke.
The best part… most of this is already researched, all I need is to tune it.' The Emperor's eyes were wide as he stopped stroking the girl's back. His mind was racing at light speed.
Wang Liu Mei realises that her husband-to-be has figured out something. He had a look that screamed 'eureka moment'.
"...That reminds me." All of a sudden, he returned to her, his hand went to her chin, and he made her look at him.
"The whole nonsense is over now. You will be moving in, right?"
*Gulp*
The way he looked at her made the Heiress all flustered.
"Y-Yes of course… that was my innitial plan…anyway…" The girl fiddled with the edges of her warm jumper she was wearing. This was the South Pole after all.
"Wonderful… we will be staying in my West Coast estate, you can move your assets anyway you want. We can think of something. You do have a considerable amount of power in HRL." Marcus pondered what to do with her assets. Since she doesn't care, he can do something with all those billions.
"...I don't care what you do."
As expected, his fiancée just brushed aside all of that.
"Don't worry, I will take care of it," Marcus assured her that he would handle her money.
"Just give it to Marrybell to manage or something, the assets can be liquidated and used for your government." She shrugged. The moment he started mentioning her money, she grew distant and a bit cold, as if talking about a sore spot in her life.
"Don't worry, my darling." He hugged her tighter, making her melt away, and as she started giggling.
~~~

A couple of hours later, Marcus returned to his house on the West Coast. He needed to use a bit of his Imperial tech.

First, he placed a barrier around his house. This barrier is the same technology he is using on Mars. But instead of creating a bubble of breathable air or a magnetic field to protect against radiation, he hid what he was doing in his house.

The entire area around his home has been covered by a barrier that normal people can't notice; all they see is the image it casts.

A simple optical illusion, though calling it simple is a disservice as it's a technological marvel and demonstration of what the Imperial's brightest can do.

Two-layered field: one layer absorbs noise frequencies; the other layer reflects light particles, allowing one to see what the barrier wants people to see.

A piece of tech created from two different civilisations.

It has been more than seven years since the Holy Byzantine Empire acquired this technology, more precisely, methods to utilise frequencies through resonance.

Among the first things they acquired was levitation. This spread to cars, buildings, Gravity resonance used in spaceships and of course, 3rd Generation mobile suits.

The second thing they acquired is a deeper understanding of what they can manipulate with said frequencies.

Not just levitation or interference with gravity, but sound reflection, light reflection, bending it further and showing what one wants to show.

This can go further and allow deployment of barriers in the shape of bubbles. This kind of piece of tech would allow one to build colonies on hostile worlds like Mars.

Though it has limits, as the barrier needs power, though…the stronger the power source, the stronger the barrier.

Phase two of Venus colonisation is precisely that.

Once the planet cools down a bit, the first research bases can be built on the planet's surface.

But for now, Marcus is abusing his Empire's technology to build a workshop under his manor. Copy it just like he recalls from Iron Man.

Only a bit bigger, since he wants to keep mobile suits in it rather than Iron Man.

'Maybe Iron Man suit… as well… hmm… let's check what Lloyd has been tinkering with.'

At that moment, the Emperor recalled that he had taken Lloyd's doodles, and there was something about man-sized suits.

It could be a fun side project after he finishes making the Twin Drive Mobile suit.

"Hmm, that could be fun."

He comments as he watches Legion bots carving out a basement for him.
