"I'm not going to apologize."
A statement that sounded like it came from a petulant child being detained by the headmaster came out of Eugene's mouth. Although it was uttered with a stern voice, Eugene couldn't bring himself to turn toward Arthur.
Part of it was because he had to watch over Hannah, but the other part was because he knew how petty he was being, and he felt ashamed of it. He felt guilty for treating Arthur the way he did--something the alpha did not deserve--but he also couldn't ignore the irritation that had been brewing since he realized who the alpha father was.
Haa...
Eugene thought he was already maturing after raising a kid on his own, but... he realized he was still childish.
Feeling that he might not be clear enough yet, Eugene added after a few seconds. "For hiding Hannah from you."
